I've been here many times, always choosing to come during the off-season before Chinese New Year. Both breakfast and dinner are great, and the hotel rooms have been renovated. It's a shame the macaw from before is gone. The beautiful scenery of Xiaowan Beach remains as stunning as ever.
A wonderful experience, surrounded by mountains and streams, breathing in the fresh forest air and enjoying the natural scenery. The hotel's facilities were great, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Due to its secluded location, all meals were enjoyed at the hotel. The ingredients were quite unique, and I especially loved the blanched seasonal vegetables at dinner 😋. A pleasant fragrance permeated the entire hotel; I wondered if it was used to deter insects!

The check in process at the kiosk was easy. Checking out was easier...just put back the key card. The room was spacious and the city view from both windows was beautiful. The bathroom had both a rub and a separate shower. It was convenient using the water jar to fill up the water at the dispenser outside the room. We could hear some kids running around and playing outside so the soundproofing is not 100 percent.

A family of 5: the kids enjoyed the room with the slide v much. The 3 queen beds(2 on upper loft) and 1 on lower floor were very comfortable, pillows offered decent support. A fan was provided in room to circulate the air. Kids really enjoyed sliding down but sound proofing of the room not that thick so we were told that the kids were too noisy. The staff were v helpful with the carpark arrangement at a separate site, we didn’t have to worry abt getting a carpark lot on all 3 days.
Not so great: The Minsu’s toilet has no non-slip flooring or bathmats inside so hard to dry the toilet floor after a shower. Shampoo & body soap provided though. No shower curtains. Staff didn’t make up the room although we hung the tag to clean room. They did apologise when we asked abt it.
All in all, a restful stay, with good space for the family with our 2 luggages opened on the sofa. Would recommend if kids are young & would love the slide room. Walking distance to Luodong Night Market too.

We weren't informed before check-in that the public hot spring bath was undergoing maintenance. To make matters worse, the maintenance schedule posted on-site didn't even match the actual situation, which was a real letdown. The complimentary bicycles were quite old and dilapidated, a slight minus. However, guests could sign up for the mochi pounding activity, and a buffet dinner was also available for an additional charge. These two aspects were quite good and added some positive points back.

First time staying here, and it was a simple, clean place with convenient transportation. Nearby, there's Taichung Second Market with tons of great food, and the Wan Chuan Temple is right next door, which feels like a blessing. The lobby on the first floor has a coffee machine for freshly ground coffee (you can use the cups from your room), and there's a water dispenser on each floor. The only downside is the soundproofing isn't great – you can hear cars and water noises constantly throughout the night. 😂 Staying on a weekday is super affordable (under a thousand NTD), but Friday and Saturday prices double. I booked two consecutive nights (Friday and Saturday) through Trip two weeks ago. When I checked the prices again on the night of check-in, I found that booking those two nights separately would have been 800 NTD cheaper! Isn't it supposed to be more affordable when you book two consecutive nights?
I stayed at the Sheraton Taoyuan hotel for one night before an early flight and it was a great experience. The hotel offers a free shuttle to both the airport and the MRT which made transportation extremely convenient. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. my room was clean comfortable and well maintained. overall I was very satisfied and would definitely recommend this hotel. I’ll be staying here again next time

I have stayed at this homestay 3 times. The interior decoration of the photo is as fresh and pleasing to the eye, but this fourth stay is thundered. There are mosquitoes on the first floor, and there are no windows on the second floor. It is a little dark if the lights are not turned on during the day. The third is that the air conditioner has no heating. The weather will be colder and it will freeze. Next time you stay, you must confirm that it is a balcony room on the third and fifth floors.

I recently stayed at 35.5 Inn in Kenting Xiaowan, and overall, I had a very positive experience.
The rooms were exceptionally clean, and the amenities provided were good. Everything was well-maintained, making my stay comfortable.
The location is fantastic—the hotel is right next to the Kenting Night Market, which is held daily. This makes it incredibly convenient for food, shopping, and entertainment. Additionally, a scooter rental shop is located right next door, offering both regular and electric scooters, making it easy to explore the area.
One aspect that could be improved is the check-in process. Unfortunately, check-in is only available from 4:00 PM, which can be inconvenient for travelers arriving earlier. A potential improvement would be to provide guests with the door code in advance, allowing early check-in if the room is already available. In my case, my room was unoccupied before my arrival, so this could have been an easy solution.
Overall, I highly recommend 35.5 Inn for its cleanliness, great location, and accessibility to transport options. If they refine their check-in process, it would be an even better experience!

The B&B is about a 10-minute walk from the Hualien Transfer Station. The area is mainly homestays, with a 7-11, supermarket, and breakfast shop nearby. Several souvenir shops are also nearby, making it convenient for shopping. Buses run from the station to the airport, Qixingtan, Taroko, and other popular attractions.
Check-in was easy, and the host was quick to respond. There's an elevator and drinking water on the first floor. Shower gel and shampoo are provided in the room, and the hot water supply is stable and plentiful. However, the faucets are stagnant, so you'll need to bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste, and mouthwash cup. The TV offers a wide variety of channels, including YouTube.
The day after our stay, a 4.7 magnitude earthquake shook the entire bed, but the elevator was unaffected.

AAnonymous UserFirst of all, this is a very old hotel that has seen truly better days. While maintained well, it has retained it's original furnishings and decor from the 1980s and 1990s. Staying here reminded me of my childhood travelling with my family in the 80s. The actual room does not look anything like the ones shown on the website. The hard floors mean you should wear their slippers or bring your own room slippers. The hot spring water advertised is just hot spring water pipes that go into your bathtub. There is a step that emulates hot spa step in the bathtub.
The breakfast was good with nice braised meat and eggs that you can put over your rice or porridge. There's also hot soy milk. But no hot tea, only coffee. The staff look tired but hard working.
There was a grumpy older lady receiptionist when we checked in and she was pretty rough in the check in process. E.g. ”if you don't put a number here, and you leave things in the hotel, we'll just throw them away! Just to tell you first.”
Room was quite small or cosy, depending on your perspective. The only thing new was the air-conditioner. The TV set had all the settings for channels but none worked. Internet wifi was not quite working too.
JJo MenOverall the experience was good especially the staffs are friendly, helpful and warm. Special shout out to Rohit and Pei. :)
Location is great, easy to get around and surrounded by many cafes and restaurants.
The hotel room is spacious and clean. Like the tiles design.
I’ll come back to stay here again next time.

DDanieltrI loved my stay at Slack BnB. It is easy to find in the village. The facilities are very clean, everything is well-planned and guests have a lot of opportunities to rest. Very cosy Dorms with built-in Beds, which have a good quality. The guests are very respectful and quiet. There is a kitchen to provide food, slacklines in the garden, lots of space to hang out and a Beamer where you can watch YouTube etc.
The staff is very motivated to keep everything clean, this can be seen in various facets.
The staff and the owner are so helpful which I appreciated much. I can definitely recommend this hostel to everybody when visiting the island.
JjornartanTucked away from the city buzz, this Kinmen resort was a solo traveler’s dream—quiet, scenic, and soul-soothing 🌅.
The sunrise view alone was worth the trip, painting the sky with golden hues that made early mornings feel magical. The staff were incredibly attentive 💁♀️, with thoughtful service and seamless communication via LINE and WeChat 📲, making everything feel effortless.
Breakfast? A daily highlight 🍳—fresh, flavorful, and served with a side of serenity. If you're craving a peaceful retreat with top-notch hospitality and nature’s own light show, this spot delivers a quiet kind of luxury that lingers long after checkout 🌿✨.
GGuest UserThe room needs a little renovation, but for this price, you can't expect too much. Overall, it's pretty good. It's super close to the delicious Da Chi Doupi (a type of tofu skin) shop. The location is very close to all the lively places in Chishang. Self-check-in is very convenient. We ate in the common area on the first floor. The owner was very kind and even turned on the air conditioning for us. 👍🏻
GGuest UserGreat stay just around the corner of the old street in Jiufen! Takes about 2 flights of stairs to reach the entrance so be aware before you book (as it would be hard to navigate with alot of luggage). Lovely home and very spacious! There is no actual stove or cooktop but they do have a food heating electrical system setup...i didnt use but it is available.
Highly recommend for the location and the peaceful vibes. Check in and out was super smooth!
MMatthewWe booked an 8-person room. The other rooms were very nice according to the reviews, but this 8-person room was relatively old and the bathroom had a peculiar smell. We suggest that we book 2 separate rooms. Other things like the scenery and breakfast are good.
Iisadam168The location of the hotel is so convenient! Night market, port, car rental, parking lot, you can walk within 5 minutes! The room is cold enough, the air is fresh, the bathroom water pressure is strong enough, the water temperature continues to supply hot water, there is a comfortable public space on the first floor to eat breakfast and play the computer, the service staff is also very kind, the access control is convenient and safe, it is really affordable and convenient. Quality homestay, Hope to keep working hard!
AAmiga_GWhen we arrived in Checheng, we received a warm welcome. The room had a balcony with a beautiful view. After we asked, we were given internet access and an adapter. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the pool because it had no water. Therefore, we're deducting a rating, as we were really looking forward to it. You should have mentioned this in advance, or removed the pictures if it's not available. Otherwise, we had a good stay.
