Anonymous UserThis is our second time staying at the Kimpton during Chinese New Year in Taiwan, and with our cat! We stayed for 10 days, and the service was just as amazing as it was a year ago. Our cat already thinks the Kimpton is her home; she absolutely didn't want to leave at check-out... Next time we bring her back to Taiwan, we'll definitely choose the Kimpton again. I love the hotel's atmosphere; it's so warm and homely. I truly strongly recommend the Kimpton to pet parents. They are incredibly pet-friendly, highly recommended! 👍👍

ReretanzhenshufuThe hotel's service was absolutely amazing! Right from the booking, the owner set up a WeChat group and provided all sorts of thoughtful services. Not only did they recommend attractions, but they also suggested a car rental company. Driver Ouyang from the car company was super nice too. In the evenings, even after the driver had finished his shift, the hotel arranged for a car to pick us up from outside and bring us back.
The restaurant offered a complimentary drinks fridge, and shopping in the lobby was self-service, emphasizing trust and friendliness. So, for those who don't go to bed early, you don't have to worry about going hungry in the middle of the night.
Breakfast in the morning was also fantastic. Because we had a last-minute change of plans and couldn't eat at the hotel, the owner packed it up for us to take away. They even helped us pick up our pre-ordered Jingcai buns.
Due to changes in the weather, we were promptly informed about the ferry schedule at the port. This trip to Kinmen, a lot of the positive emotional value came from this guesthouse. We'll definitely choose this place again next time we visit Kinmen!

Anonymous UserFirst of all, this is a very old hotel that has seen truly better days. While maintained well, it has retained it's original furnishings and decor from the 1980s and 1990s. Staying here reminded me of my childhood travelling with my family in the 80s. The actual room does not look anything like the ones shown on the website. The hard floors mean you should wear their slippers or bring your own room slippers. The hot spring water advertised is just hot spring water pipes that go into your bathtub. There is a step that emulates hot spa step in the bathtub.
The breakfast was good with nice braised meat and eggs that you can put over your rice or porridge. There's also hot soy milk. But no hot tea, only coffee. The staff look tired but hard working.
There was a grumpy older lady receiptionist when we checked in and she was pretty rough in the check in process. E.g. ”if you don't put a number here, and you leave things in the hotel, we'll just throw them away! Just to tell you first.”
Room was quite small or cosy, depending on your perspective. The only thing new was the air-conditioner. The TV set had all the settings for channels but none worked. Internet wifi was not quite working too.

teykimhongThe accommodations are comfortable and spacious. I really enjoyed staying here with my dad this time 💕
We were met by a friendly person upon arrival at the pier, which was very convenient for those with luggage. The shop also offers a wide range of services (diving, motorcycle and bicycle rentals 🚴, scuba diving 🤿, SUP, kayaking 🛶, and more). The service was excellent. The location is close to the DIY shop where the lady does her crafts, so you can walk there (remember to call her). Sometimes the shop is closed. There's no elevator 🛗, but the stairs are quite comfortable 😌.
More positives than negatives 👌
The negatives were that the boys in the next dorm were a bit noisy (but I still managed to sleep well).
I enjoyed the snorkeling 💕; the water is quite deep.

Had a fantastic experience! We really enjoyed the hotel's public pools, which offered a variety of temperatures. The 28-degree section was perfect for swimming. The in-room hot springs were also incredibly relaxing; the water stayed warm much longer than regular water. Plus, there were plenty of activities happening in the hotel lobby.

Anonymous UserA beautiful, historic homestay near the port with excellent service. High-quality bedding and comfortable beds. Walking in and hearing Celine Dion made it even more quaint 😂
Jack was super helpful with information about the ferry tickets, and even made an extra trip back to the port because I Ieft my umbrella behind. And his mom was very kind and welcoming too.
A note to those who may be sensitive: there was a faint musty smell, which I’ve found common to many hotels and guest houses in humid climates like Taiwan. Earplugs are recommended for light sleepers, since you can hear courtyard and street noise in the room. Plan ahead for cash: nearby restaurants are cash-only, and the nearest atm is at 7-11, about a 20 minute walk away.

Anonymous UserVery friendly staff, ready to help and give advice on the place.
Room was clean, though a slapped mosquito was still on the wall.
We just stayed one night, it was more than worth the price: extremely well located, near enough the two old streets, and far enough so you can sleep / have a quiet time when needed. Close to the Keelung mountain trail too.
Some rooms have a view, we had a garden.

Nice hostel, fairly central on the island. 10 minutes by scooter from the port.
There's a small garden where you can relax and meet other travelers.
The girl who greeted me was very kind.
The only thing missing might be shelves, as everyone puts their suitcases on the floor and it quickly becomes difficult to move around.
I recommend it for spending some time on this beautiful island.

Guest UserThe soundproofing in room 501 was terrible. The foreigners across the hall were so noisy and rowdy that I couldn't get any rest. At 10:40 PM, when it finally quieted down for a bit, I could clearly hear the beeping from the air conditioner next door, and then the noise continued late into the night. I was prepared for the hard bed, but not bringing slippers was a mistake. The water pressure in the sink was too strong, splashing everywhere, so I had to painstakingly use a tiny trickle of water each time. The only upside was the adjustable hot water in the shower (lucky, I guess?). For the price, this room really delivered, but one stay is enough for me. This time, I was here for the Baishatun Mazu Pilgrimage in Beigang on April 16th to respectfully welcome the holy sedan. I hope this review offers some reference for fellow pilgrims and kind-hearted people.

Guest UserI booked this homestay last minute on my bike trip and it ended up being a great place! The six-person room was quite comfortable, all the beds have curtains which help with privacy. Public space with a kitchen table, water dispenser and other amenities. Good if you’re looking to stay near the train station.
