Service and cleanliness was very good. However, it did not say anywhere that we had to pay an extra 40 pounds per person for the “spa” (which are the pools and amenities). When we booked, it looked like everything was included. When I asked the reception about this they just said that it was not their problem and just gave excuses about they being in the middle of changing systems and said that if we were not obligated to pay if we did not want to. But the whole point for us to book this hotel was to have a spa day, so would be pointless for us to go there to just sit in our rooms. Not worth it at all for the price you pay and the 40 pounds extra per person on top. Although the room was clean, it was extremely small and there was a constant noise that was on and of every couple minutes that disturbed our sleep heavily. The loudness meant we had barely any sleep. Overall would not recommend, extremely overpriced and overrated.
Staff brilliant. Value brilliant. Absolute bargain.
Hot Breakfast was average which was an extra tenner but it had a good selection of cereal, toast, yoghurt. Rooms were basic but in a good way. Everything you need for a cheap stay. Clean. Only small gripe was pillows weren’t the best so next time I’ll bring my own. Some may like the more flat pillows. Thanks IBIS derby.
As my friends and I were travelling by train from different areas of the UK the hotel was an easy meeting place.. We all found our rooms very clean and,spacious..The staff
were extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was superb with plenty of choice. Nothing was rushed and all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Overall, a very pleasant experience and the hotel is very well located for the railway station and amenities. The town centre is approximately a 15 minute walk away.
Couple of downsides to my stay though, bed was very hard and lumpy, broken tiles in the bathroom, ***** hairs on the toilet base and worst of all, ***** stains on the wall. Doesn't say much for the hygiene standards at all.
It's a shame that these let our stay down for us really. Otherwise the hotel would've been great.
Service was good. Stayed for one night. Bed had some hairs which had to be mentioned to the reception for a room change, the sink was also not in a great state. Otherwise not bad for the price. Cheapest in the area. Location is okay however have to travel around 10 mins to get to a local shopping centre or supermarket to buy any decent food b
The room is large, the bed is large, the old house, the elevator can enter three families, stick together, the bedding is cotton, but not high cotton, but it does not cause too thin and soft. The room number logo is chaotic, there are more than 30 rooms in total, and the first floor is actually looking for a long time. The faucet is separated from hot and cold water, there are cracks and watermarks on the wall, and there is rain leakage in the corridor. The atmosphere of the hotel is very good, breakfast is OK.
We stayed for 1 night for a special occasion. On arrival we were told that the spa was closed for an event which was very disappointing as I booked this hotel because of the spa & had planned to use the pool & sauna. This should gave been communicated at the time of booking. The building and grounds were impressive but on arrival our featured superior room was freezing cold. The reception turned on the heating at our request but this should have been done hours before our arrival given that it was 8 degrees outside. We sat for an hour in the room with our coats on before asking for a portable heater due to the radiators being only lukewarm. The room never really got warm & when we came back from dinner at 9.15 the heating had been turned off again & we had to ask for it to be turned on again. The food in the restaurant was very good & the servers were lovely but unorganised. We planned to have a drink in the hotel bar but it was so cold that it was empty and not comfortable to stay. I heard kore than one staff member complain about the cold in the hotel. What could have been a very pleasant stay was spoiled by the cold. Unfortunately, we will not return.
The Hotel is set in a very picturesque location in the Derbyshire Peak District. The room was very clean and comfortable, but basic. The only negative point I would like to mention was that there was no hot water for the duration of my stay, but I would not hold this against the hotel, as it was an unforeseen issue. I would recommend this place for a short stay relaxing break. The local area has some extremely friendly pubs and restaurants, along with some beautiful walks.

Amazing
GGuest UserThe hotel itself was very nice. The room was large and comfortable (maybe too warm at times). The room facilities and freebies and bathroom was very nice and felt quite luxury. The hotel is in a natural and beautiful area where you can go hiking around it on trail, and there is a pub next door. The breakfast was lovely with varied choice. The restaurant for dinner was expensive but served great food. Parking wasnt much of an issue which made things easier. All in all a great experience, and the value for money was brilliant. My only downside was that its difficult to travel anywhere without a car from the hotel. No complaints otherwise.
GGuest UserGreat location and room came with more than enough facilities for our stay. We were really impressed with the shower and homemade food. Thank you for making our birthday visit special
