Romantic Hotels in Hubei, China

Donghu Hotel, the largest state guesthouse spanning over 2,000 acres, offers a unique experience. We stayed in a deluxe standard room at Tingtao Building 2. While the room facilities were comparable to other five-star hotels, the grounds truly set it apart. The serene environment, filled with birdsong and blooming flowers, is perfect for guests seeking tranquility. The hotel's east gate is just a 5-minute walk from the Donghu Tingtao Scenic Area. Tingtao Building 2 is also conveniently located about 300 meters from the east gate, and complimentary shuttle buggies are available within the sprawling property. A highlight for guests is the opportunity to book a visit to Chairman Mao's former residence daily at 9 AM and 3 PM. Unfortunately, our visit was cut short by rain, preventing us from exploring the entire estate, but we definitely plan to return.

Wuhan's cherry blossoms are beautiful, but the real surprise of this stay started with Mike at the Ruihua Hotel. Thanks to his thoughtful arrangements, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a room directly overlooking East Lake. This led to an incredible experience the next morning: watching the sunrise from the comfort of our bed! 🌅 I have to say, the quality at Ruihua is consistently excellent, from the Dyson hairdryer and full set of L'Occitane toiletries to the unbeatable lake view outside the window – every detail makes for a comfortable stay. Being right next to Chu River and Han Street also makes getting around incredibly convenient. A big thank you to Mike for making this trip to Wuhan such a wonderful start. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Wuhan!

This was the most satisfying hotel of our trip, and I highly recommend it! The location is absolutely incredible, right at the entrance of Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street, directly across from the Hankou Customs House Museum. It's super close to the ferry terminal, making it incredibly convenient to get to the Yangtze River Bridge and Yellow Crane Tower – just take a 1.3 yuan ferry ride across the river. The hotel itself is a beautifully renovated century-old Japanese Nissin Shipping Company building, filled with Republic of China-era charm. The atmosphere is fantastic, and it's perfect for taking photos in a qipao. When we checked in, the front desk even kindly upgraded us to a business king room and gave us a complimentary afternoon tea. The rooftop terrace offers great views of the river, making the whole experience truly exceptional. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. My family especially loved their pillows – we all slept incredibly soundly. We'll definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Wuhan!

I wanted to relax in a hot spring during the National Day holiday, and after doing some research, I finally chose this place. Overall, I would recommend it. The hot spring center has relatively new facilities and many pools. It wasn't too crowded during the holiday, so the experience was quite good. The private hot spring water in the room came out quickly. The service was excellent. After registration, the front desk gave a brief introduction to the facilities and opening hours and guided us to our accommodation building. When we dined at the barbecue restaurant in the evening, the staff were very friendly, especially one young man who proactively provided ice when we asked and even asked if we needed more during our meal – a big thumbs up! However, there are a few areas for improvement. First, there was no refrigerator in the room. Second, the walls of the Tianmu Pavilion room had quite a few gray and black stains, making it look a bit dirty. I heard the rooms at Panshan are newer, but we didn't try them this time. I'll probably bring my family here again when the weather gets colder. If you're looking for value for money, you can actually book a room without a private hot spring; the hot spring center is downstairs, very clean, and has long opening hours.

The hotel's location is fantastic, right at the entrance of Li Huangpi Road Pedestrian Street. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and small bars nearby, and it's only a 5-minute walk to Baghazi House. The black and white themed room is very stylish, and the mattress and pillows are excellent – just the right firmness for a comfortable sleep. The room was perfectly quiet, with no noise, probably because it used to be a bank vault with meter-thick floors, haha. The heating inside was great; I could even wear a t-shirt in the evening. The seventh floor houses the front desk and a riverside bar that's open until 2 AM. I tried one of their special cocktails, and it was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! On the first floor, there's a restaurant where you can enjoy some lovely Hubei dishes.

The service was pretty good overall; they even upgraded my room. However, the breakfast was really mediocre, and the breakfast lady had a very bad attitude. When I extended my stay, the toothbrush went from being boxed to packaged in a bag. I stayed for several days, and since my flight was at 8 AM, I asked for a late check-out. Around 3 PM, I overheard the housekeeping staff outside my door saying, ”Why haven't they checked out yet?” I paid for the late check-out; isn't that a consumer's right? The elevators were incredibly slow; I had to wait a long time every time. The TV couldn't screen mirror, so I was stuck watching the same few channels over and over.

The hotel's location is excellent, with a great view of Yingwuzhou Bridge. However, the variety of food at both the dinner buffet and breakfast was quite limited. The 'Buddha Jumps Over the Wall' soup, advertised as a pot per person at dinner, felt a bit perfunctory and didn't quite live up to Hilton standards. On the positive side, the service was great, and housekeeping was prompt. It was also convenient to catch a Robotaxi (Luobo Kuaipao) right downstairs, which was an interesting experience.

I have to say that the soup house must be experienced. It has its own small pool, and you can soak it yourself at night and when you wake up early. The public hot spring pool is also very good, and the environment is also good. There are few people at the time we go, and the experience is very good. The service The reception is also very warm and attentive, and I will call in advance. Thanks to the waiter, Aunt Tan Chunming, and the lady at the front desk, the brother who answered the phone, and the brother who put the hot spring water. It made us happy and have a comfortable and relaxing day

Not bad at all, definitely not as terrible as some online reviews made it out to be. I gave the environment and facilities full marks because, despite being open for seven years, everything is still very well-maintained. For service, I only interacted with the front desk, so I can't give a full rating as I didn't experience other services. As for hygiene, there was used dental floss in the bathroom trash can from the previous guest, so it wasn't cleaned properly. Plus, as soon as I entered the room, there was an odor that was either mold or cigarette smoke, so I'm deducting 0.5 points for that.

The river view is excellent, and the staff across all departments are warm, attentive, and thoughtful. The breakfast spread is fresh, diverse, and delicious. The facilities are high-end and comprehensive; the room even has an air purifier and an oxygen bar egg, making for a comfortable and quality experience. The front desk reception was professional and efficient, with a friendly attitude, and check-in was quick and smooth. Overall, my stay was extremely satisfying, a full 5-star rating! Outside the room's floor-to-ceiling windows, you can see the clear Yangtze River and ancient pagodas. Fresh fruit was provided daily after check-in. The restaurant on the 15th floor of the hotel offers delicious dishes with generous portions. On the first day, I couldn't finish my meal, and the staff kindly kept it for me and reheated it the next day. The food tasted even better. The hotel's internet connection was smooth, which was very convenient for working video conferences at night after exploring during the day. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Yichang.
