Romantic Hotels in Yunnan, China

During my trip to Kunming, Yunnan, I stayed at Mengyuejing Hotel, and I truly have to give it a “beyond five-star” review! From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I could already feel the relaxing and elegant atmosphere. The room was absolutely beautiful — not only aesthetically designed, but every detail was thoughtfully prepared. The facilities were complete, modern, and very comfortable, making the whole stay incredibly enjoyable and relaxing. One of the biggest surprises was the breakfast. There were many choices, and everything tasted really delicious. You can genuinely feel the effort and care the hotel puts into every guest’s experience. Whether it was the accommodation, environment, cleanliness, service, or the convenient location, everything exceeded my expectations. Staying at such a wonderful hotel truly made my journey even more memorable. Thank you, Mengyuejing Hotel, for giving me such an amazing experience. I will definitely come back again the next time I visit Kunming. Highly recommended to anyone traveling to Kunming, Yunnan!

Just pulled up to the hotel and — plot twist — our room wasn’t ready. Shocking, I know. They’d just survived the Water Festival the day before, so the place was probably still half-drowned and hungover. The receptionist dude was an absolute saint. His female colleague, however… let’s just say she was clearly auditioning for the role of “Cranky Receptionist from Hell.” I’m 99% sure she was on her period and the other 1% was pure personality. Thankfully they upgraded us, which was nice. I never saw the original room, so for all I know they moved us from a broom closet to a slightly larger broom closet with a view. Speaking of which — the view? Legit fire. The room itself? Clean enough. Dry sink area: spotless. Toilet: sparkling. Then came the shower — oh boy. It started off promising, like a decent enough setup… until my girlfriend jumped in. Five minutes later the hot water ghosted her mid-shampoo like a bad Tinder date. One second she’s happily singing, next second she’s screaming like she just got waterboarded by ice cubes. I’ve stayed in fancier bathrooms in Mexican motels that still had bullet holes in the walls and more reliable plumbing. Breakfast was… breakfast. The kind of “basic” that makes you nostalgic for airplane food. But hey, they gave us more bottled water than a doomsday prepper’s basement, so points for hydration. We were only there for two nights — in and out like a cheap Tinder date. Would I go back? Big fat question mark with a side of “probably not even if they paid me.” ⁉️

The room was quite spacious, clean, and tidy, and the owner was incredibly welcoming! Every time we saw him leaving or entering, he'd greet us! I loved it so much, haha! Next time I come to Lijiang, I'll definitely stay here again! Initially, we couldn't find the place, but the owner (uncle) warmly came out to meet us! It felt so heartwarming, haha! We ended up extending our stay for a few more days.

My overall stay far exceeded expectations, and I highly recommend this hotel. The staff provided incredibly thoughtful and attentive service. As soon as I arrived at the parking lot, they came out to greet me and kindly helped with my luggage. They were all very welcoming. The room was meticulously clean, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, with no disturbing noise. It's only about a ten-minute walk to Sifang Street, making sightseeing and getting around very convenient. The terrace in front of the hotel was a real surprise. Sitting there to relax, you get direct, stunning views of the magnificent Jade Dragon Snow Mountain – the scenery is absolutely superb. What touched me especially was discovering I'd left clothes in the room after checking out. The owner promptly contacted me to arrange for the forgotten items. This attention to detail really showed their dedication, making it a truly wonderful stay.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! The room was spotless and well-maintained, with great lighting and a comfortable layout. There wasn't even a hint of unpleasant odor. The hotel's location is superb, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and shopping. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, handling our check-in efficiently and thoughtfully, paying close attention to every detail. The hotel's overall atmosphere is quiet and elegant, full of charm – perfect for couples. It's so cozy and romantic, definitely a hidden gem for couples. We'll definitely be choosing this hotel again next time!

The hotel's location is great, very convenient for going to the night market. The view is also good, and you can even take a bath. The guy at the front desk was very enthusiastic. Before this, I stayed somewhere else in Gaozhuang on the 2nd floor, and it was noisy at night. Moving to the 22nd floor here is better at night, but it's still a bit noisy. There's nothing to be done, the whole of Gaozhuang is lively at night.

Wonderful farmstay experience! The weather was cooling and we could enjoy beautiful stars at night. In the morning, we had fun feeding sheep, dogs and deer. There were also several beautiful photo spots around the farm. 娜娜姐 was very professional and helpful during photo selection and editing, making sure everything turned out well. Our photographer, 小光, was also very professional and guided us patiently with poses, and the photos came out beautifully. The service team was amazing — helping with luggage, check-in and check-out, and warmly chatting with us. We also enjoyed the warm dessert at night and drinks prepared by the bartender. Overall, the hospitality and service were excellent, and everyone was very friendly. We will definitely come back again! 非常棒的农场住宿体验！晚上天气凉爽，还能看到满天星星。早上可以喂羊、狗和鹿，非常有趣，农场内也有不少适合拍照打卡的景点。 娜娜姐非常专业，在选照片和后期修图方面都给予很多帮助，确保成品效果满意。摄影师小光也很专业，耐心指导我们摆姿势，照片拍出来都非常漂亮。 服务团队也非常贴心，帮忙搬运行李、办理入住和退房，还会亲切地和我们聊天。晚上还有暖心甜品让我们暖身，酒吧调酒师也准备了酒给我们品尝。整体服务非常优秀，团队友善又热情，是一次很难忘的住宿体验，我们一定会再回来！

We loved it here! The location is excellent, it's clean, and the facilities are complete. Although the reception staff didn't speak English, it wasn't a problem because we could easily communicate via WeChat, and they took great care of me. The bathroom has separate shower and toilet areas, and importantly, a bidet (though the pressure wasn't very strong, it was better than many hotels that don't have one). They also provide bottled water, and you can ask for more. The beds were very comfortable. Overall, if I have the opportunity to return to Kunming, I would definitely choose to stay here again and would happily recommend it to others. There might be a slight cigarette smell for those with a sensitive nose, but it's not noticeable for those who aren't bothered by it. The lighting in the room is beautiful, making for great photos.

This stay was absolutely fantastic, five stars for sure! The hotel's location is truly unbeatable – right next to the subway station, making getting around incredibly convenient. It's also just a short walk to Dounan Flower Market, so browsing and buying flowers is super easy. It's the perfect spot for tourists. Parking at the hotel was a breeze, with plenty of spaces available, so if you're driving, you won't have to worry about finding a spot. The room was clean and tidy, and the housekeeping was excellent. I especially appreciated the thoughtful details, like the disposable facial towels and bath towels – so hygienic and convenient, meaning I didn't need to bring my own toiletries, which lightened my luggage considerably. The hotel environment was quiet and comfortable, and the bedding was soft, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The front desk staff were warm, attentive, friendly, and patient. Overall, the value for money is excellent. It's a great choice whether you're visiting the flower market or on a short trip. My experience was perfect, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time and highly recommend it to everyone!

I had the most beautiful stay in Jianshui. The hotel was clean, bright and very comfortable. The hospitality was fantastic, which as a solo traveller I was very grateful for. I was given tea and fruit on arrival and the laoban introduced me to all the key spots in Jianshui and sent me recommendations of food spots too. I was given a delicious breakfast with some of the best congee I've had in China! I really felt at home. The location is fantastic, right in the old town on a beautiful side street with a peaceful quaint atmosphere. The hotel also organised a taxi to take me onto my next destination - thank you both for a wonderful stay. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!
