WWestopiaFantastic location and large common area, with inclusive breakfast and a welcome drink at their downstairs bar! The domitory is clean with all the facilities you would need, and the staff are all very nice! There are hot water in both the shower and the sink, which I really appreciate. If they could provide hair-dryer in the dorms it would be perfect, right now you can only borrow one from the reception, and you might not br in luck if someone else has taken it.
GGuest UserLocation was good: close to Casa da Musica and the main Boa Vista roundabout. The apartment was clean and big enough for a couple nights of stay. The only issue we experienced was the door code system. When we arrived at the property on the first day, the main entrance door was open, exposing the building to theft. On the second day, we couldn’t open the main entrance door using the code provided. (The code worked on the first day.) We messaged the operator using their platform and received no reply. We called the operator but nobody answered the phone. Since it was raining, we walked to Casa da Musica to shelter ourselves from the rain. Then the operator called back and asked us to send a video of what happened of the door code. Since we left the building, we couldn’t take the video. Then they agreed to look into it. They sent us a reply saying that we refused to comply by sending a video. They subsequently asked us to ignore the message and said it was their internal communication and was sent to us by mistake, but it showed that they didn’t understand why we didn’t want to walk back to the building in the rain to take the video they requesed. After an hour of us raising the issue with them, they finally sent someone to open the main entrance for us. The person said the entrance code issue was not new! It was a very bad experience and we wasted an hour. We would seriously reconsider staying in a place managed by this operator.
GGuest UserI stayed at Pensao França Hostel and overall had a good experience. The hostel is clean, although the room size is quite small, which is typical for backpackers. They provide both small and large towels, as well as body soap and hand soap.
There was a slight urine smell when I first arrived, but it disappeared after the bathroom was used. The bathroom has a shower with both hot and cold water available. The room is also equipped with a fan.
A microwave and an electric kettle are available for shared use on the second floor. The hostel has three floors and no elevator. The owner lives on the second floor and is very kind and friendly to talk to.
Since the hostel is located near restaurants and bars, there can be some noise from outside. However, once the windows are closed and especially when you are tired, it is not too disturbing.
The location is very convenient, as it is within walking distance of Porto city center.
AAr JayIt’s far from everything. No groceries stores or any nearby restaurants. There is a mall but you have to take the bus to get there. Location is not really ideal. Be prepared to take Uber to get to the attractions and it’s not really economical if you’re on a budget.
Room is fine for a single occupant. Toilet, sink and bath are all separted which I liked (Japanese style). Overall, the hotel is clean. Breakfast area is too small. On the first day, only one coffee machine was working. Very few selections and same all throughout my stay. You better have your breakfast early otherwise it gets really crowded and no available seats.
This is the cheapest I could find in Porto that’s within the budget but considering I had to take Uber to get to the center, better spend more that’s within the city.
PPOOOOHANVery comfortable hotel, there is a large lounge area on the second floor for rest, the kitchen is also quite convenient with a water dispenser and all the equipment. Good location, highly recommended
GGuest UserIt was exactly what we were looking for! The room was basic, but very clean and staff was nice/helpful. Location was great. Also they had so many water stations which was so handy. We plan to return to Porto and will definitely be staying here!
VVirus-97Arguably the best hostel experience ever. From the check in to the free breakfast and lockers. The bed was super comfortableand the shared bathrooms had enough privacy. I could leave my bags before check in for free. Walkable to the main attractions and close to the main shopping area. Definitely changed my mind about hostels.
GGuest UserIt was so beautiful and insanely good!
We stayed in a dormitory with a mix of 6 people. The room has a locker with a key, two separate toilets and two showers. The hair dryer is also very good. You can also use the shared kitchen and refrigerator.
The staff was very kind and helpful.
YYPLIt was difficult to locate the hostel as it was a small door with a colourful poster (not eye catching initially) beside an Kebah resturant. Lift was the old sch lift but im glad it work with my heavy luggage. The staff was friendly, check in was easy. Room was awesome as i was the only 1 on the last day (4 bed female dorm). However a bit noisy along the corridor in the middle of the night at other rooms. Breakfast was cheap and simple, was being serve. Overall its a good stay and walking distance to every location.
MMingchen008This is a formally registered hotel with a certain history. The location is good, not far from the subway station. The front desk is staffed 24 hours a day. The rooms are fairly large. There is an elevator. The light switch design is somewhat inconvenient. There is a TV in the room, but it is very small. Some rooms are right next to a main road; there is noise when the windows are closed, and even more so when they are open. The bathroom is also quite large. The front desk service is very good. The hotel breakfast is very affordable. Overall, it offers good value for money.
