GGuest UserThe overall ambiance and oxygen-enriched room experience at The St. Regis Lhasa were impeccable. What truly impressed me the most was our butler, Pubu Cering Justin, who was incredibly responsive to all our requests.
Upon arrival, I experienced mild altitude sickness. After contacting him, oxygen and warm ginger tea were delivered almost immediately, with no waiting time at all. When I wanted to book a ******* costume photoshoot and plan my Potala Palace itinerary, he had everything arranged promptly after I explained my needs. Even when I returned to the hotel late and wanted a hot drink and some extra fruit, they were delivered to my room right after I made the request.
He is efficient and professional, never delaying any requests. He perfectly balances professionalism with the warm and thoughtful service typical of a ******* host. Everything was handled promptly and perfectly, making my entire stay incredibly reassuring and comfortable. I'll definitely be looking for Justin again on my next visit!
GGuest UserI stayed at this hotel from June 5-7 2026. The official check in time is listed at 2 pm. They did not give me access to my room until after 4 pm. Furthermore, laundry is listed as included service and they said their facility was not working and had to send it somewhere else. They charged me a hefty fee. I believe it’s a misnomer for this hotel to call themselves “international”
This hotel really only caters to Chinese speaking populations, which is fine and the typical situation in Lhasa, but to be more accurate, the hotel shouldn’t make the claim “international.” That would typically imply better more comprehensive services for people outside of one population and nationality.
This hotel is listed as 5 stars in Lhasa. I have traveled to many countries and stayed in many 5 star hotels. According to my experience, this hotel doesn’t measure up to a 5 star standard. Perhaps it did in the past. 5 star hotels typically have much better restaurants and dining options. The room was clean and I had a nice view.
XXiaojingerdegushiMany people, myself included, often debate between the St. Regis and the Shangri-La, as both hotels in Beijing are quite unremarkable. Ultimately, I chose the Shangri-La for its value for money. I had considered Songtsam too, but common sense told me to be a smart spender.
Although the hotel shows its age, its architectural style is grand and refined, revealing luxurious material choices. Time has inevitably left its mark, but a classic car, even when old, is still a classic car. Moreover, service and quality require time to accumulate and withstand market scrutiny. While the Shangri-La may not have many existing locations, it still holds a strong market advantage, and it takes an discerning eye to appreciate it.
My butler, Bowen, arranged my room before I even arrived. Looking out the window at the Potala Palace's silhouette in the distance immediately set the mood. He then meticulously delivered on all aspects of my package. I found Bowen to be a man of few words but very steady, highly responsive, and an exceptionally smooth driver. He never asked inappropriate or subjective questions, which I truly appreciated. Over three days, Bowen's accompaniment added a unique dimension to my Lhasa itinerary. Among the few Tibetans I've encountered, he was a definite plus. I sincerely wish him all the best in his work!
The Shangri-La in Lhasa lives up to its brand's standards and enhances the reputation of its sister properties. I'm so glad I made the right choice; this will be a memorable and wonderful travel experience.
PPregretCons:
- Hotel expects you to have your own car? They don't have any car service to drive you anywhere, you are expected to arrange your own taxi, which is not easy in this area
- The spa services were too expensive for the quality of masseuse skills
- The western food options were very limited for dinner
- Can't do much activities if you only check-in for one night stay
Pros:
- Design is nice and elegant. Rooms are big and clean
- Breakfast food and views are great
Overall I don't think our experience was worth this price, but maybe if we stayed longer we could enjoy the offerings more. I would not stay here if I am not driving a car, as you will be trapped in the hotel area.
GGuest UserOn the evening of April 30th, after completing the Kora and on my way back, I stayed at the Hilton Shigatse once again. Manager Wangjiu Basang warmly and efficiently handled my check-in. The next morning, I flew from Shigatse Heping Airport to Shenzhen, with a layover in Chengdu. It wasn't until I was unpacking my luggage at home that I realized I had left my phone charger in the hotel room. With a 'nothing to lose' attitude, I contacted Manager Wangjiu Basang. He immediately assured me not to worry and said he would look for it right away. Soon enough, the charger was found, and it has already been returned to me via SF Express. Although it's a small matter, Manager Wangjiu Basang's professional and responsible work attitude is truly commendable!
AAnonymous UserI absolutely love Farly Hotel. The staff, both the ladies and gentlemen, are incredibly kind and welcoming. The hotel offers a wide range of activities, like spinning prayer wheels and performing sang offerings. I particularly recommend the evening sound bath experience and the morning Pilates. The instructor's stretching exercises really helped improve my posture. I also woke up early to watch the sunrise, but there's a mountain to the east of Farly, so the sun actually appears about 45 minutes after the official sunrise time. Still, it was a beautiful sight.
WWanghappySongtsam was my first choice for my trip to Lhasa with my mother. The service was absolutely fantastic! A special thank you to Ms. Quji and Ms. Geji at the front desk for their attentive service! They responded to almost all our requests immediately, and the emotional support they provided was incredibly high; it felt like coming home. The room layout was spacious, more like a one-bedroom apartment. The toiletries were their own brand, but the toiletries could be upgraded to a more comfortable brand. The breakfast was excellent, with *******, Chinese, and Western options available. I'll definitely be going to Lhasa again in May or June, and I'll choose Songtsam again!
GGuest UserThe room was spacious and very comfortable. All the hotel staff, from security to the front desk and housekeeping, were exceptionally professional and excellent! GGuest UserBefore my trip, I read through the reviews for the InterContinental Lhasa Paradise, and the name Deji Nancy frequently popped up in the positive comments. After experiencing it myself, I truly understand why everyone raves about her. The entire stay completely exceeded my expectations. From inquiring about room types and oxygen arrangements before check-in to communicating various needs during my stay, everything was smooth and seamless. The communication felt incredibly comfortable. Deji Nancy is efficient and reliable; she responds quickly to messages and always handles matters, big or small, promptly without ever making us wait. Even in the middle of the night, if we experienced altitude sickness or needed supplies, contacting her immediately brought a response and reassuring comfort, as she was always on call. In an unfamiliar high-altitude city, her meticulous, gentle, and 24/7 service made us feel as if someone was constantly by our side, alleviating any initial anxieties about the plateau. The hotel's facilities are comprehensive, and the oxygen supply is excellent. Coupled with Deji Nancy's warm and professional butler service, this trip to Lhasa was wonderfully comfortable and satisfying. If you're staying at the InterContinental in Lhasa, make sure to look for Deji Nancy – you won't regret it. I highly recommend her to every traveler visiting Tibet.
YYigefeifeiI stayed at this hotel after visiting Lulang Village to see the peach blossoms, and the service was excellent. I heard it's considered the best hotel in Bayi Town. It's about a 20-minute drive from Linzhi High-Speed Rail Station. I chose it because I was taking the high-speed rail to Lhasa the next day. The breakfast was very good, and for dinner, we had the stone pot chicken set. The ******* chicken was quite tough, so we mainly just drank the soup. The hotel provides a full range of toiletries, including body lotion. I took a good oxygen-infused shower and washed my hair; I wouldn't dare wash it so easily the next day when heading to Lhasa.
