The St. Regis Lhasa is truly a hidden sanctuary in the highlands. In this holy city, where oxygen is scarce, it soothes both body and mind with its warmth and exquisite design. Open the window in your room, and the Potala Palace stands majestically before you – an almost tangible and breathtaking sight. The hotel perfectly blends ******* elements with luxurious sophistication, from the wooden tones in the lobby to the thoughtful diffused oxygen supply; every detail brings a sense of peace. Whether you're enjoying a warm bowl of yak noodle soup at the Social restaurant or watching the sunset over the Potala Palace from the bar on the sixth floor, you'll realize that staying at The St. Regis in Lhasa is an experience in itself.

I didn't expect much at first, but I was pleasantly surprised after checking in. The hotel front desk took the initiative to help upgrade the room. The breakfast also had a rich variety of vegetables and fruits, which was a very cost-effective choice.

The InterContinental Lhasa Paradise is, without a doubt, one of the best luxury hotels I've ever stayed in – my entire experience was absolutely perfect! I especially want to commend our butler, Dekyi Nancy. Her service genuinely made me feel at home. She was attentive and professional throughout, offering care and assistance just like family. Whether it was various needs during our stay or small questions about our itinerary, she patiently and meticulously resolved every single one. This level of thoughtful service is something I’ve never experienced in other hotels, and it was incredibly heartwarming. The hotel itself also completely exceeded my expectations. It perfectly blends ******* and European styles; the exterior is grand and magnificent, and it looks particularly stunning at night bathed in light. The lobby is spacious and impressive, exuding an upscale ambiance. The beds in the room were incredibly comfortable, making for a truly peaceful stay. Dekyi Nancy also recommended the hotel's buffet, which was astounding! It's primarily seafood-focused, with premium ingredients like king crab all-you-can-eat. The variety of dishes was extensive, the taste was superb, and it offered excellent value for money. My entire stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel, and I want to once again thank Dekyi Nancy for her outstanding service. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Lhasa!

The hotel environment is excellent, and it's very clean and comfortable. I'd definitely have stayed a few more days if I hadn't already booked my flight. The hotel activities are also great. However, I was quite disappointed with the front desk service. We had two rooms in our party, and one of them was upgraded, but we weren't informed. When I called the front desk, the first time they said they were busy with check-ins. The second time I called, they told me the room card was incorrect. A little later, they said it was an upgrade. I'm not sure how credible the front desk's statements are. Then, the next day, when I inquired about the deposit refund, they initially told me the deposit for room 501 had been returned. I told them I paid 1000 for both rooms together, and then they said room 507 hadn't been inspected yet. I'm not sure if the hotel front desk has proper systematic training. I booked for one night, and both explanations from the front desk felt deceptive. I hope the hotel can provide more training for their front desk staff. Although the front desk's actions made me uncomfortable, I'm very satisfied with how the hotel manager handled the situation. He went back and forth several times to resolve it for me and kept apologizing. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when I visit Lhasa next time, but I sincerely hope they can thoroughly and systematically train their front desk staff. After all, it's a high-end hotel, but the front desk's communication style doesn't seem to match that standard.

Many people, myself included, often debate between the St. Regis and the Shangri-La, as both hotels in Beijing are quite unremarkable. Ultimately, I chose the Shangri-La for its value for money. I had considered Songtsam too, but common sense told me to be a smart spender. Although the hotel shows its age, its architectural style is grand and refined, revealing luxurious material choices. Time has inevitably left its mark, but a classic car, even when old, is still a classic car. Moreover, service and quality require time to accumulate and withstand market scrutiny. While the Shangri-La may not have many existing locations, it still holds a strong market advantage, and it takes an discerning eye to appreciate it. My butler, Bowen, arranged my room before I even arrived. Looking out the window at the Potala Palace's silhouette in the distance immediately set the mood. He then meticulously delivered on all aspects of my package. I found Bowen to be a man of few words but very steady, highly responsive, and an exceptionally smooth driver. He never asked inappropriate or subjective questions, which I truly appreciated. Over three days, Bowen's accompaniment added a unique dimension to my Lhasa itinerary. Among the few Tibetans I've encountered, he was a definite plus. I sincerely wish him all the best in his work! The Shangri-La in Lhasa lives up to its brand's standards and enhances the reputation of its sister properties. I'm so glad I made the right choice; this will be a memorable and wonderful travel experience.

The hotel offers both diffuse oxygen supply and nasal cannula oxygen in the rooms. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. On the first night, the room temperature wouldn't go down, but after discussing it with the front desk the next day, they promptly moved us to a different room. The butler was also very enthusiastic, showing us to the new room and explaining all the features and how to use them. They were also very responsive whenever we had questions. The hotel is conveniently located, not far from Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple; a 20-minute walk is quite manageable. However, the hotel itself is located down an alley, which made it a bit difficult to find and a tiring walk. Also, the breakfast was just average.

This hotel deserves all the praise! The moment we stepped into the parking lot, we were greeted by that signature scent of a five-star hotel. As soon as we entered, the authentic ******* decor immediately immersed us in a wonderful atmosphere. The front desk staff were incredibly efficient with check-in, and they even upgraded our room for free! While we waited, we sipped on rhodiola tea and enjoyed a welcome dance – it was an amazing experience. The room design was thoughtful, the amenities were high-end, and every little detail exuded quality. This is the first hidden gem of a hotel that has made us fall in love with an entire city just because of our stay there!

Five stars is a must! This 5-star hotel is truly full of surprises! The lobby is filled with rich ******* style, with various ******* incense sticks neatly displayed and Thangka paintings creating a wonderful atmosphere. The lobby also features a complimentary tea break area, offering nourishing hot tea, bread, pastries, candies, and dried fruits all day long. It's a clean and thoughtful place to stop and recharge while traveling. A special mention goes to the smart delivery robot! It's simple and responsive, delivering takeout and small items directly to your room. You can even ask it to pick up snacks, saving you the hassle of running around. The combination of traditional ambiance and smart service makes for a fantastic experience! The staff are gentle and attentive, and the rooms are clean and quiet. This is the top choice for travelers in this area – highly recommended!

After staying at the hotel, I asked the hotel waiter where I could buy oxygen cylinders. The waiter immediately sent four bottles and explained the use method carefully. Half an hour later, we went out to work. On the way, we received a call from the hotel to ask if we had altitude sickness. It turned out that the hotel staff asked for oxygen cylinders because we checked in. We were worried that our body was not suitable for special arrangements and provided us with a large medical oxygen. The gas tank is really touched. Thanks 🙏🙏🙏

We called ahead to let the hotel know it was our 5th wedding anniversary and hoped they could decorate the room for us. We were so pleasantly surprised when we entered – red bedding and swans folded from towels really showed the hotel's thoughtfulness. Manager Kuang even gave us a tour of the hotel garden, where we met a cute golden retriever named Zhouzhou! I wasn't dressed appropriately to pet dogs, otherwise I definitely would have played with her. We heard they're planning to build a pet park and organize some parent-child activities soon, which sounds amazing. We hope to see it on our next visit. Special thanks to Aunt Bian Zhen from housekeeping, Manager Kuang from the front desk, and Pubu Zhaxi from security who helped us with our luggage and parking. These three were truly warm, enthusiastic, and responsible. Experiencing such excellent service in the highlands was even better than the St. Regis in Lhasa! Oh, and Miss Baima from the Liao Bar was also very lovely! We had an unforgettable anniversary.

AAnonymous UserThe location of Songtsam is absolutely stunning, truly legendary. It directly occupies the prime viewing spot of Basongcuo Lake. The environment is serene and relaxing; I felt instantly refreshed upon entering. Every corner of the hotel is a picturesque scene. Whether you're in the restaurant, bar, or any public area, you can easily snap some fantastic photos, as the lake and mountain views are seamlessly integrated into every space. ✨ Service Experience Our butler proactively contacted us before arrival, and upon reaching the hotel, we were greeted with a warm highland barley wine welcome ceremony – a truly immersive experience. There's no elevator, so staff frequently deliver items back and forth, but they consistently do so with warmth and efficiency, their attitude is superb. My only minor regret: the underfloor heating in the room wasn't very effective, making the highland nights a bit chilly. I hope they optimize this in the future. Oh, and the room also had a coffee machine and incredibly delicious fruit! 🌿 Scenery & Activities The hotel's viewing platform offers unparalleled vistas, even more breathtaking than the 'Forgotten Corner' mentioned in travel guides – and it's easily accessible with a stroll along the river! If you rely on the viewing platform at the hotel for the 'Forgotten Corner', it truly might feel forgotten. Highly Recommended: • Cycling along Basongcuo Lake: A dozen kilometers of lake views, a truly therapeutic journey. • Cuogao Village: An authentic ******* village where the lake at the entrance is as blue as the ocean. A perfect blend of culture and nature! • Xinzuo Lake Hike: Easy and pleasant, with forests, meadows, rivers, and lakes all along the way – it feels like paradise on earth! Strongly recommend horseback riding here. The horses are very gentle, saving both effort and time! (Bring some chocolate for the horsemen to refuel; they'll happily take a few photos for you!🥳) ⚠️ Not recommended: All-terrain vehicle (ATV) riding. The roads are rough, and the experience is mediocre! 🛍️ Retail Shops The hotel has an Arc'teryx specialty store where you can even rent clothes with points, which is great for photography enthusiasts. The large artisan craft store offers quality products, and the local high-end yak cashmere brand Norlha is worth browsing. Aside from the higher price point, the quality and design are impeccable. There's currently some construction around the hotel, which might slightly delay entry, but it doesn't affect the overall experience at all. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied. This is my top choice in Basongcuo, and I will definitely return! Finally, special thanks again to our butler, Dingzhu. Tashi Delek!

GGuest UserWhat an amazing hotel, the rooms are immaculate and mine had a view of Potalo palace. The food is delicious, amazing breakfast buffet with very high quality items and the restaurant food was succulent. Also. When staying at Songtsam, make sure to have a massage at their spa. The Spa lady Tenzin phuti is so knowledgeable and will give you a massage like you never had before. A must do at the hotel. Big thank you to Sonam, English speaking lady who took good care of me and her English was brilliant. Overall, Songtsam is an amazing hotel and you won’t regret staying there!
