ATTENTION! If you are traveling to Macau remember to keep your slip from customs so that you can check into the hotel! Over all, this hotel was okay. You get what you pay for. I thought the design was very beautiful and the room was clean. The staff were very friendly and could speak some English. There was also an English Channel on the tv! However, the bed was as hard as a table and I didn’t sleep good at all. The shower is difficult to deal with and it’s very small, water got all over the floor. Also, the walls are thin so we could hear others coming and going during the night and early morning. There was a bus stop directly in front which is convenient but there are not a lot of places to eat/ shop near the hotel.

Located just off the main drag, with with evening foodstalls at the hotel's doorstep. Rather basic, old school furniture & decoration, but clean. Kettle, bottle of water, hairdryer, TV and great in-room WiFi connection is okay theres no fridge. Bed was a bit hard.Well located, within easy walking distance of the Fort & other historic buildings. Windowless room had quite a ‘run down’ feel. Noise from outside common lift corridor carried into the room.i caught a guest smokes in the corridor and i can smell it inside the room i called the front desk and theres no action on it.hallway is creepy too but the price is budget friendly and no deposit required.

Excellent Stay, Perfect location, steps from downtown attractions. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit. Rooms were modern, spotless, and surprisingly quiet. Comfortable beds ensured great sleep. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend for both business and leisure travellers. Great value!

Staff were helpful. Despite initial worry, it was easy to catch a taxi from here even early in the morning. For the price this place is ok, only if you can put up with noise from traffic and walkway. The worst part was the cigarette smell that comes through the bathroom ventilation from other rooms during the day when we were away and even in the middle of the night. The whole room was filled with cigarette smell which was terrible. Should keep the ventilator (bathroom light) running all the time.

Cons: - **Toilet Size**: The toilet is quite small, designed for an average Asian build. If you’re taller or of European size, it might be a bit cramped—you may even need to bend your knees in certain positions. ### Additional Notes for Muslim Travelers: If you're looking for halal food, I highly recommend visiting **Indonesia Warong Amar Berkah**, a bus ride with fewer stops and few meters from the station you'll find the shop snuggle between pastry shops. The food there is delicious and a must-try, worth the price! Overall, **Pensão Elegante** offers great value for its price, with a strategic location and good amenities. Just be prepared for the small toilet and firm bed! Would definitely stay here again for a budget-friendly trip.

I have read a lot of reviews in Chinese before making the final reservation. It proves that all the positive reviews are genuine. The hotel has been renovated past few years and style is clean and minimalist. No extra decor except the wall showing the London bridge behind the head board. The only problem for us is trying to locate the hotel as it is in some small side streets. We need to ask the locals to get directions.

All major historical attractions and Grand Lisboa are within walking distance. as for the hotel itself, it is a very budget hotel with all the attributes characteristic of such hotels: very little space, very poor sound insulation, windows do not open, there is a musty smell in the room, and so on. but if you are willing to spend more money, then there are other hotels. this one matches its price.
