During my recent trip to Florence, I had the pleasure of staying at the Anglo American Hotel. Overall, my experience at this hotel was delightful, and I would gladly recommend it to fellow travelers. First and foremost, the location of the Anglo American Hotel is superb. Situated in the heart of Florence, it offers easy access to the city's major attractions, including the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and Uffizi Gallery. The hotel's central location made it convenient for me to explore the city on foot and truly immerse myself in its rich history and culture. The hotel itself has a charming and elegant ambiance. The interior is tastefully decorated, combining classic elements with modern touches. The common areas, such as the lobby and lounge, are inviting and provide a comfortable space to relax after a day of sightseeing. The staff at the Anglo American Hotel deserves special praise. From the moment I arrived, they were friendly, professional, and attentive. They were always ready to assist with any queries or requests I had, and their local knowledge and recommendations were invaluable in helping me navigate the city and discover hidden gems. My room at the hotel was spacious and well-appointed. The bed was comfortable, and the room amenities, including a flat-screen TV and minibar, met my expectations. Title: Disappointing Experience That Didn’t Match the Photos I booked a Premium room specifically because the listing photos showed blue-sky views and a golden dome. However, upon arrival I was assigned a room on the first floor facing a dark, rundown alley—nothing like the images. The bathroom also didn’t match the photos: it was much smaller, with virtually no counter space. When I raised this with the hotel, I was told I hadn’t booked a “Premium room with view.” At the time of booking, my only options were: a cheaper “Deluxe,” a more expensive “Premium,” and a “Suite.” As a guest, I relied on the photos shown for the Premium category, which all featured a view. The mismatch felt misleading. I asked about changing rooms, but was told the hotel was fully booked and that they had already given me a “larger” room of 20 m². The stated size range for the Premium room is 18–23 m², so this didn’t resolve the core issue—the lack of the view shown in the photos. After persistent requests, I was offered a second-floor room in another building without an elevator. That room had a larger bathroom but a smaller bedroom, and the window opened directly onto exhaust vents. It wasn’t a viable alternative. Overall, this was a disappointing experience for a five-star property. While staff were polite in manner, the room assignment and photo discrepancy felt misleading, and there was no practical solution offered despite the hotel being aware of the issue. To add to the frustration, I later noticed my luggage had been dented. In summary: the Premium room I received did not match the advertised images—especially the view and bathroom—and the lack of clear labeling (e.g., “with view” vs. “no view”) led to unmet expectations. I hope the hotel updates its listings to accurately reflect room types and views so future guests can book with confidence.

This hotel boasts an excellent location, making it incredibly convenient for accessing the city center and numerous popular attractions. Its proximity to the train station is a huge plus for travelers, offering fantastic transport links. I particularly recommend the hotel's rooftop bar; the sunset views from there are absolutely stunning and definitely worth enjoying with a drink – the atmosphere is superb. Overall, the hotel facilities are quite good, including a gym and a sauna. However, there were a couple of minor downsides during my stay: * **Small room size:** Once luggage was opened, the room felt a bit cramped. * **Inconvenient sauna use:** When we wanted to use the sauna, the equipment was turned off. We had to specifically inform the front desk to switch it on, and then wait for it to heat up, which was quite inconvenient. I suggest the hotel could improve the regular operation of this facility. Overall, the transport and views here are outstanding, but there's still room for improvement regarding service details and room space.

this is such a business type-of- hotel. very much suitable for businessman/woman who wish to stay and make a conference there. + the price was a bit on the competitive side so it’s very nice tbh.

The hotel was nice and Tidy as you'd expect from a five star hotel. Breakfast was great and staff helpful. What I found strange was that you had to pay to use the spa (use of sauna etc.) With hefty price tag of €70 PP on Friday. My mattress was knackered springs broken and one side virtually collapsed. The bathroom door was taty with bits peeling off. Admittedly, I couldn't be bothered to complain and get my room changed after unpacking our stuff and noticing the state of mattress late at night. And parking was €18 per night, which I didn't notice of any mention of their website or Trip.com. They charged me for 2 instead 3 when I mentioned the mattress before checking out. To be honest there has to be some level checking the condition of the beds by the supervisor. The pool on the roof was very small, not worth bothering with except if want to sit beside it for suntanning. I didn'tnotice any offer of drinks or food at the pool. I gave service a four star only because we asked for couple of things to the room which didn't happen.

I booked total 14 days for a same room, I just request make up room services 2 times only, that why my room face tissue and toilet tissue use finished, so I ask for more 2 boxes face tissue and 2 rolls toilet tissue, but a male room service staff don’t give and say need exchange one box face tissues for one roll toilet tissue and then I walk in complain this case with reception female staff, finally she give me back 2 rolls toilet tissue, but her attitude so bad sit say me wrong use words describe toilet tissue only, may I ask all room customer if case like this make sense or not? Original I gave them full mark comment for this hotel, now I trade back my original comment and give them lower mark comment first until after 2 days when I leave this hotel and they do back good attitude and improve for their service and then I will give back them good comments! I am very easy handle person just say actually things only!

Overall, the hotel staff were very nice, but! The hotel manager (an old man) and his wife had a terrible attitude. We booked this hotel solely to take some wedding photos in the manor, but when we arrived, the hotel manager (the old man) outright refused, without offering any alternative or compensation. He just kept refusing, saying we needed to book in advance, but didn't specify how far in advance. His only reason was that the hotel itself needed to take its own promotional photos during those days (though we didn't see any camera equipment or crew at all)... This reason is truly unacceptable. Shouldn't the reasonable and legitimate rights of hotel guests also be considered? We told him countless times and explained that we'd only take a few photos, which would take about an hour or so, and that we could completely avoid their shooting time and wouldn't even be in the same location as them. In short, the old man manager at the hotel repeatedly refused like a robot. Then, the next day, his wife was on duty at the front desk, and her attitude was even worse. She directly told us: ”If you insist on taking photos, we will call the police.” Honestly, this is the first time I've encountered such an exaggerated hotel service manager. We paid 10,000 per night for a room, staying 2 nights, and this is the attitude we got. I will never stay at this hotel again (objectively speaking, the other hotel staff were very nice, it's just that old man manager and his wife who are horrible people, with a typical stubborn Italian attitude, and they were also unfriendly towards Chinese people).

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The service at The St. Regis Florence was exceptional. After my departure, I discovered I had left some items in my room. The hotel team promptly responded and efficiently coordinated the delivery of my belongings to my next hotel. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail exemplify the true St. Regis standard. I am deeply appreciative of their excellent support and highly recommend staying here.

This is a very old hot spring hotel, not luxurious, most of the customers are locals; the room is large, the facilities are relatively old, but the European-style bed with curtains and very old wooden windows (with wooden shutters) are very European, and the bathroom facilities feel like they are still in the 70s and 80s; it is worth mentioning that the piano room where breakfast is located has a royal and aristocratic atmosphere when taking photos, super 👍

The location is excellent, making it super convenient to get around. The room itself is also very spacious with good amenities. The only downside was a really bad smell coming from the bathroom, which was quite unpleasant. Also, the air conditioning was freezing cold, and the one in the living room couldn't even be turned off. My extra bed was in the living room, and I was shivering the whole night – it certainly didn't feel like 40-degree Italy!
