We had a wonderful stay at Royal Fine Hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, especially during our early checkout at around 5:30 a.m. They kindly carried our luggage and even called a taxi for us, which made the early morning departure so much smoother.
The room itself was decent; clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed for a short stay. The location is also very convenient, just a few minutes' walk from the station. Plus, there are convenience stores, restaurants, and even spa and massage places nearby, which added to the overall ease and comfort of our trip.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a budget-friendly stay with great service and a prime location!

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The breakfast provided was enjoyable and of good quality. The hotel is conveniently located near Ximen MRT station, which made traveling very easy.
The hotel also offers a shuttle bus service, which is very helpful for guests. However, advance reservation is required. The service starts from 10:00 AM, with buses running every 30 minutes, and the last shuttle departs at 2:30 PM.
We stayed at the hotel for six days and five nights, and we appreciated that room service and housekeeping were arranged almost daily.
One area for improvement would be the bed linen, as it was not changed every day. We hope the hotel can pay more attention to this aspect to further enhance guests’ comfort.
Overall, we had a pleasant experience and appreciate the services provided.
At first I felt like wrong hotel in the middle of a living area, then I realized there is a beautiful running path along the river , you can run for 10 km and hardly see any people or stopped by cars. Across the river at 1 km distance a lot of restaurants eg Japanese, Korea BBQ and *********

Excellent hotel, large rooms above expectations, the room was clean and well-equipped, underwent basic cleaning, received water and clean towels every day. The hotel staff was courteous and helpful in everything ( recommendations for attractions). Located a few minutes walk from the mall . There is free parking in front of the hotel.

Overall, the hotel is good and service from the staff is great too. Breakfast Hotel has a good spread and enjoyed the food there. Hotel is well located near the Fengjia Night Market and you can go there in 3 min but is not very near the city centre and you may need to take a bus or walk there.
.
I highly recommend this hotel if you're visiting Tainan – it's incredible value for money! 👍 The service was warm and attentive, and they even kindly upgraded our room. The room itself was well-equipped and comfortable. Plus, it's super close to historic old streets, markets, and attractions. I'll definitely be staying here again.

The hygiene and environment were pretty good. The bed was very comfortable. However, I couldn't get the hot water in the shower to a strong flow; only cold water could be turned on full blast. There's a convenience store nearby, and the MRT station is about a ten-minute walk away.

I have to say, using Trip.com is incredibly cost-effective! My child had an exam in Hsinchu, so I booked a room through Trip.com in advance. The Trip Coins I'd accumulated helped discount part of the room rate. The hotel was very thoughtful, giving us a quiet room on a high floor. They also arranged a shuttle service to take guests to the exam venue. This alone deserves huge praise; it was so considerate! Since we had to leave by 7:00 AM, they even provided a simple breakfast to go. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. I highly recommend this place. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Hsinchu.

Nice budget friendly hotel with good buffet breakfast included. Couldn't find any instrns to get to this hotel so document here for future travellers. For those taking either Red line (from Zuoying HSR) or Taiwan railways to Kaohsiung station, head towards exit 2, go up a couple of escalators till u reach a big open atrium n see the Taiwan Railway Information lobby, walk to the side with big sundial. Take the escalator on the right to ground level (Jianguo 3rd road) and you will see the hotel on the opposite side of the road. My family stayed in 2 rooms. One of the room had the sink outside the toilet. Not good because the water and drain pipe can be noisy. Free coffee and tea available in the lobby and free use of laundry machines. There is a row of fast food outlets next to hotel, supermarket PX Mart abt 10 minutes walk away. 15 to 20 minutes walk to Liuhe night market.

AAnonymous UserGotten a basement room, the room is clean but kinda small to open up the luggage. Also because it's basement room, there is a constant musky smell emitting from the toilet and filled up the room pretty fast. Have request for a change of room but it is similar issue. Overall it's a comfortable stay near XMD but the room smell is pretty bad.
GGuest UserThis stay was in the Pine View room, located in the newer annex. The facilities were new and clean, and the hot spring water quality was excellent. The overall lighting and environment were good. Unfortunately, the shower head was broken. The double bed was made of two single beds pushed together, and the mattresses felt quite old, with a noticeable bump where they joined but a dip in the middle, which made it hard to sleep comfortably. The breakfast offered a decent variety of Chinese and Western options. The staff were friendly and had a good attitude. I'd suggest they pay more attention to the quality control of the bamboo shoots served with the congee; they had a strong rancid smell, as if they'd been sitting for a long time.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is great, and it's also close to Taipei Main Station. If you're taking the Airport MRT, I recommend exiting from Taipei Main Station A1, Exit 5. From there, you can walk straight to the hotel, which takes about 10 minutes (including waiting for traffic lights).
The nearby MRT stations are NTU Hospital Station (3-minute walk) and Taipei Main Station (7-minute walk). There are also many bus stops, making transportation very convenient.
Regarding the check-in experience, the hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor, and guest rooms for this hotel occupy floors 3-5. There are only two elevators, and since the building houses other businesses, waiting for an elevator can take a while.
The front desk staff were professional and efficient. Before check-in, there was about a minute-long 'rap' outlining the check-in policies.
The hotel bed was comfortable, and the room and bathroom were clean. It seems to have been recently renovated, as it felt spacious and bright. Soundproofing was acceptable; I could still hear cleaning noises from outside and sounds from the adjacent room. I chose a room with a window this time, but the window couldn't be opened.
Amenities provided were limited to slippers and toilet paper. The shampoo and shower gel were a 2-in-1 product, with a light, pleasant scent and no strange odors.
Overall, it was a pretty good stay, even exceeding my expectations.
(Attached: hotel check-in instructions, a picture before check-out, and the nearest Airport MRT exit to the hotel.)
HHungBoss1218This stay was in a newly renovated room, but it was a bit odd that the old wooden wardrobe wasn't replaced, and the bathtub was also old. The toilet just had a bidet added, so it felt like a mix of new and old. However, the Xiaomi TV was quite large! The only downside was the lack of a desk, so when eating, I had to put my phone on the bed and use the small phone stand to hold my food 🤣. The breakfast has been changed to a buffet style, and the layout has been slightly altered. My favorite Dongquan (a type of food/condiment) wasn't there this time 🥲. Breakfast wasn't particularly delicious, but it was enough to fill up. The main thing is that the hotel's location is excellent; it's a short walk from the Kuo-Kuang Motor Transport Xiaoming Girls' High School stop. I've stayed so often that the front desk staff recognize me now. I even bought souvenirs from Taipei for them before 😁. Wishing everyone a smooth new year, with all your wishes coming true, peace, joy, health, and happiness every day 🙏
AAi Lun. CThe bustling downtown and market are just a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. Nearly all the staff were incredibly friendly and professional in answering our questions. This trip marked our seven-month anniversary, and it added so many wonderful memories as we head towards our eighth month together.
Upon check-in, the hotel learned we were celebrating our anniversary and thoughtfully upgraded us to a mountain-view room. The in-room welcome drinks were incredibly generous, featuring mini beers, plum wine, coke, and Pocari Sweat – essential for rehydration after a soak; they even included face masks to pamper us while we enjoyed the in-room hot spring bath.
All the room's fixtures and fittings were new and high-quality: a Toto washlet, a Panasonic 1400 nanoe hairdryer, a thoughtful wooden gua sha massage comb, and hyaluronic acid-infused shower gel that left skin feeling smooth and soft. What truly amazed me were the double-layered automatic curtains (even in the room's private hot spring area!). The double room's bathtub was spacious enough for up to four people – a very comfortable size.
In the afternoon, the lobby offered preserved fruits and freshly brewed tea, perfect for a relaxing break after a dip in the outdoor public hot spring. After dinner, they provided handmade kumquat-flavored tofu pudding, and it was unlimited – so generous! (There's a lovely staff member in the lobby, Tina, who's a treasure trove of recommendations for local food and sights; don't hesitate to ask her for her secret list of must-try places!)
Last but not least, I highly recommend trying the hotel's breakfast, especially the freshly blanched beef soup. Even my boyfriend, who grew up in Tainan, the home of beef soup, couldn't stop raving about it.
*If you're planning a weekday visit like we did and want to try some local famous eateries, be sure to check their opening hours in advance. Many popular spots are only open from Friday to Sunday or during specific hours, like mornings until 2 PM. (Luckily, you can find a lot of food on Uber Eats!)
Heartily recommend!
GGuest UserThe location is sweet, 5 mins walk to the closest MRT, and there are even YouBike and Bus for traveling.
There are 3 convenient stores nearby, which is good.
Since the beginning of 2025, hotels in Taiwan won't provide amenities, so the convenient store can be used to purchase any if you need them.
Drop-off and Pick-up in the area is slightly askew, do be careful as it's beside the traffic light.
Counters for check-in are locate at level 3, The room is a good size; I'm able to open my luggage fully. However, the walls are slightly thin, so neighboring up or side rooms closing doors or accidental bumps are heard from time to time.
The bathroom has a separated toilet (with bidet), bathing, and bathtub.
The concierge folks are friendly and able to store luggage to return for collection on the last day.

GGuest UserConveniently located about 3 mins walk from exit 6 of the airport MRT station. The room was tidy and spacious. Bed was comfortable and firm though pillows were slightly softer to what I would have preferred. Light sleepers best prepare some noise cancelling earbuds. Service was friendly and helpful as I needed information about getting to the HSR station safely in the wee hours of the morning which takes about 13 mins walking.
AAnonymous UserWhat I like:
1. Walkable distance to Ximending shopping district
2. 2 minute walk to Ximen Station, either Exit 4 (with elevator and escalator) or Exit 5 (no elevator or escalator)
3. Heated toilet bowl with instructions on how to use the bidet
4. Complimentary shampoo smells good - would like to know what brand it is
5. Separate shower, toilet and vanity area
6. 7-11 and another convenience store in the same block, Family Mart in a nearby block
What can be improved:
1. No ice machine - need to buy ice from convenience store
2. No closet and just 2 hangers provided
3. Complimentary water (2 bottles) on day 1 only
4. No amenities provided like toothbrush, toothpaste, which are basic to most hotels in other asian countries
5. No instructions on how to use the shower
6. Freshly replaced towels don't smell good
GGuest UserThe staff were incredibly warm and responsible, providing thoughtful service. The room was odor-free and very clean. There was sparkling water and drinking water available in the public areas, and the mini-bar was a welcome sight after a late check-in. Breakfast was a semi-buffet, with slight changes to the self-service options daily, making for a pleasant dining experience. The hotel is close to the subway station, which makes getting to attractions very convenient. The subway station also has drugstores where you can buy many things, and there are 7-Eleven and other convenience stores nearby, making daily life very convenient. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay.
AAnonymous UserPros: Other reviews have already covered these, so I won't repeat them.
Cons: The water temperature fluctuated quite a bit, and the bathroom fan was very noisy but not very effective at drying, as my towel was still damp the next morning.
