I specifically flew to Quanzhou for the local cuisine, so I picked this hotel located on a food street, without breakfast included. It's perfect for solo travelers. There's a great local vermicelli soup shop nearby, which is perfect for breakfast. While the shops on the food street mostly cater to late-night crowds, there are plenty of delicious local specialties in the surrounding blocks. It's in a bustling area with excellent transportation links, making it easy to get to attractions around Zhongshan Street. Even if you're not into sightseeing, staying at the hotel is great too – the rooms are spacious and well-equipped, the lobby on the first floor is quite striking, and the service is very thoughtful. They even let you know in advance if some rooms might be affected by noise at night. It's definitely a hotel with amazing value for money!

Loved this beautiful, traditional hotel in Fuzhou. The staff was super accommodating to my dog and extremely helpful. Parking was very convenient right opposite the street where the hotel was in. One note, while the hotel itself was super pet friendly- my dog was even allowed to come with us to the breakfast restaurant and they made sure to arrange a quiet spot- it should be noted that the hotel itself is in a pedestrian area that doesn’t allow dogs. It would have been nice to know this beforehand. When I let the concierge know that we weren’t being allowed into the street, he immediately came running to assist and we were allowed to walk from the hotel and back during our stay, but it would’ve been nice to know beforehand. The staff was kind enough to tell us where in the area I was allowed to walk my dog. The room and amenities were beautiful though and other than the doggy inconvenience we loved our stay. They even were quick and helpful to send back the jacket my mom had forgotten in the room.

If you're traveling to Fuzhou, I highly recommend this guesthouse! It's located within the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, very close to the main street but surprisingly quiet. The guesthouse staff are fantastic; they proactively reached out, helped us with our luggage, and even made us three special drinks that they're planning to launch, which everyone absolutely loved 😌
The guesthouse design is beautiful and great for photos, and the rooms are clean. The mung bean soup they prepared for check-in and the daily breakfasts were also incredibly delicious 😋

The room felt very clean, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Since it was the off-season, they kindly upgraded our room for free. The location is excellent too; the subway station is right across the street, and a bus stop is just a hundred meters away, which is incredibly convenient for tourists visiting Xiamen. We had a very comfortable stay and have already extended our booking, planning to stay here for our entire week in Xiamen. The hotel breakfast is also very rich and varied, with different options each day, and it tastes delicious.

I genuinely recommend this hotel; it was such a comfortable stay, and everything was superb!
The cleanliness truly exceeded expectations – it was meticulously clean! The room was spotless, inside and out. The bedding was white and soft, with absolutely no strange odors. The bathroom was sparkling, with no dust even in the corners and crevices. Every nook and cranny was perfectly cleaned, making the stay very reassuring. This attention to detail is a huge plus.
The environment was also excellent. The overall decor was simple and comfortable. Public areas were spotless, and the hallways were quiet, not noisy at all. The room had great natural light and was spacious, making it very pleasant to stay in, with no cramped feeling whatsoever. All the travel fatigue just melted away.
And the service was incredibly attentive. Check-in at the front desk was quick, and all the staff members had wonderful attitudes – gentle and patient. They responded promptly to any requests, making me feel welcome and at home throughout my stay.
In summary, I couldn't find a single fault with the cleanliness, environment, or service. It offers great value for money, suitable for both leisure and business travelers. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit. Highly recommended!

The location is super convenient, with plenty of food options nearby, and both the Eighth Market and the ferry terminal are close by. The environment is very comfortable, the room is spacious enough, and it's quiet at night. I really liked their laundry room; there are many washing machines, which is very handy. The cleaning staff were incredibly friendly, always greeting us proactively and quickly replacing and restocking any items we needed.

Arrived at this Ningde hotel on the fourth night of the ***** New Year. It's located in the new district, near the CATL industrial park.
**Facilities:** Excellent. They have everything, including washing machines and fitness equipment.
**Cleanliness:** I'd give it a 70 out of 100. The room's details could definitely be improved.
**Environment:** There's a nice lake nearby, great for a stroll. It's quite a distance from the city center, about 12km, which takes at least 25 minutes by car.
**Service:** The service was pretty good, especially considering it was during the New Year period.

After the New Year, I embarked on another journey of living like a local. On the 11th, I flew from Harbin to Shanghai, then Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Macau, Xiamen, and Quanzhou… Soon I'll be off to Zhangzhou, feeling like a real frequent flyer lately…
Last year, a senior recommended Fujian Province to me. I visited Xiamen briefly after college, just a quick stop at Gulangyu Island… This time, I really want to slow down and explore 'Southern Fujian' more deeply… Before leaving the Northeast, among all the hotels I booked, I was most looking forward to this 'century-old traditional house' (Gucuo). As someone from the Northeast, the word 'Gucuo' itself was unfamiliar, let alone one with the 'century-old' title. I researched Lanqin online before I left home… For me, without a thorough understanding, I wouldn't be able to explore it perfectly.
Upon arriving last night: 'Amazing'!! As a hotel enthusiast (I stay in dozens of hotels in half a year… sometimes even a month or half a month, so I think it's fair to call myself a hotel enthusiast), I must say: this is an absolute treasure of Chinese culture! You can really see the proprietor's dedication, so many clever details! Compared to those 'influencer-hyped' hotels, this place is very niche! But that's exactly what makes it 'unique, dignified, high-class, textured, and aloof…' If it were a person, it would be a 'graceful, wealthy young lady'… a concrete embodiment of old-money Chinese style.
The overall design perhaps also reflects the proprietor's inner journey. I'm guessing that from 'reconstruction — under renovation — completed — in operation,' they must have gone through a series of psychological transitions like 'Do I really want to do this? — I wish to be understood — Self-doubt — Who cares — I like it, that's enough — Someone will like it…' In the end, it all boiled down to one word: 'Do it.'
The proprietor's profile states 'one who insists on following their own path…' While self-deprecating, it's truly cool. People who know what they want and are willing to act on it are the best! Because I'm just like that; niche individuals don't need to be understood. Undoubtedly, you'll encounter discerning people who 'absolutely appreciate' this unique beauty.
Self-admiration might be more charming than shared admiration. Wishing you: prosperous business! Love what you love, do what you do, follow your heart, no matter where it leads! Being yourself is one of life's great wisdoms.
End
🏨 Highlights ✨
1. **High-quality linen:** Feels luxurious and comfortable on the skin.
2. **Art of light and shadow, Chinese aesthetics:** (Pairs perfectly with Wang Leehom's 'Hua Tian Cuo' - 'Mistake in the Flower Field').
3. **Adorable dogs to pet!**
4. **Convenient location near popular attractions:** Easy access to food, shopping, and entertainment.
5. **Hotel's food guide is excellent:** I even went to eat A-Jie's Five-Spice again today; last time was years ago.
6. **Many other great points… to be improved:** Needs a full-length mirror 🪞 (could fit perfectly in the bathroom).

This hotel is my top choice for accommodation when I travel. The Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street branch is incredibly convenient; you can start shopping as soon as you step out, with all sorts of delicious food and shops available. The location is a perfect 10, and the room hygiene is excellent – it's clean and bright throughout. The bedding and toiletries are neat and well-organized, making for a very comfortable stay. The front desk staff also provided good service.

EElizabeth Frances RoseThis place makes me wish there was an option for six stars.
I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay.
I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me.
I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters.
To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget.
For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms.
Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful.
The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees.
This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine.
This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit.
It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

Screen mirroring and high-speed Wi-Fi are convenient to use. The communal laundry room is practical and useful. Overall, the hardware quality is impressive, making for a particularly comfortable stay.

Ffernanda9The room was very clean and the environment was quiet. Xiao Bai (the staff) was very nice and upgraded us to a higher room category. Before we left, they even gave our child some small seashells, which was a very thoughtful touch.
The hotel breakfast was delicious, especially the Shacha noodles, which were tastier than any we'd had in the days before arriving on the island. The complimentary lunch included in the package was also very good, though the yellow croaker was a bit small, just one tiny fish.
At the end of September, when tourist traffic wasn't heavy, we arrived on the island at 11 AM. The shuttle service was perfectly arranged, helping us avoid the scorching sun. We later found out that a shuttle ride on the island costs 50 RMB per person, so for our family of three, we saved a good 150 RMB.
Most of the snacks on the island were just okay, but the Dayang Restaurant was quite good.
If you have the time, staying on the island is definitely recommended. You can avoid the midday sun and take your kids to play by the beach in the afternoon. Strolling around the island in the evening makes this a very high-value-for-money place.
Xiamen offers a resort experience similar to Sanya, yet also gives you the illusion of wandering through the streets and alleys of a small Hong Kong or Macau island.
GGuest UserAbsolutely loved my stay here! The hotel's location is fantastic, right across from the attractions, and the subway station is just a short walk away, making it super convenient to get anywhere. The front desk staff were all amazing – so gentle, patient, and polite. The room was spotlessly clean too. If I ever visit Fuzhou again, I'll definitely choose this hotel! (By the way, the takeout from Old Fuzhou is delicious!)
GGuest UserFacilities: The facilities are beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable.
Cleanliness: Spotless throughout, with an excellent wet-dry separation in the bathroom, and the public areas are equally inviting.
Ambiance: The lighting and decor are truly eye-catching, creating a fantastic atmosphere.
Service: The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming.

AAnonymous UserI usually do not choose homestay when other modes are available. However in Yunshuiyao homestay is the only choice. Given that 1949 has to preserve the local architecture do not expect 5 star hotel facilities. For all the constraints of a ”min su” the staff do go the distance to ensure they meet the demands of guests. I checked out a happy guest and will recommend 1949 to other travelers.
MMaoxiaomao~Quanzhou West Lake Hotel boasts an excellent location right next to West Lake Park, offering great transport links. The 'Little White Car' stop right outside provides direct access to the ancient city's core. The hotel facilities are new and comprehensive, with spacious and bright rooms. Some room types even feature oversized floor-to-ceiling windows, offering expansive views of West Lake – truly a sight to behold. The front desk staff are warm and attentive, making check-in a breeze, and the intelligent robot delivery service is a convenient touch. The hotel's quiet environment makes it ideal for families or business travelers, and its high value for money makes it a fantastic choice for visiting Quanzhou.

ZzyoukoThe French-style cabinet and desk have so much character! All the furniture, including the large wardrobe, isn't brand new but feels well-made and meticulously maintained. On the first floor, they offer 24-hour freshly ground coffee and lemonade, which made it feel almost like home, even though I was away. I really found what I was looking for – it was incredibly comfortable and great value for money. A very satisfying stay!

EErererererererererererereryeOur little one wanted to see 'A Yuan's Home,' so we brought the picture book and came to stay. This guesthouse is located within the Tianluokeng Tulou Scenic Area in Nanjing. It's easy to find if you're driving, and personally, I found it even better than the Yunshuiyao Scenic Area – fewer crowds and stunning scenery. It's also very close to Taxia Village, which you can reach by cycling or walking. There, you can visit the 700-year-old Yuchang Lou, famously standing 'crooked but firm,' and grab a meal at the Xiaogqiao Liushui Restaurant. Just a heads-up if you're driving, be mindful of parking restrictions. Getting to Tianluokeng's iconic 'Four Dishes and One Soup' cluster is also super convenient, just a ten-minute drive. The Tulou are truly magnificent!
The guesthouse hostess is incredibly nice, and they have a lovely Golden Retriever named Xiao Chai, who is very friendly and well-behaved. We booked a duplex room with a living area downstairs and the sleeping area upstairs. It even came with a projector, which was a huge bonus! But the real highlight was the in-room washer-dryer combo – such a thoughtful and convenient amenity!
