Highly recommend this hotel! 1. The best thing is its location: inside the ancient city, the North Gate leads to the food street and is next to Taigu Bridge; the South Gate connects to Taiwan Road, making it super convenient to reach all the scenic spots and food areas in the ancient city within minutes! You can slowly experience the ancient city by day and night: mornings are peaceful but full of local life, where you can chat with residents and enjoy local breakfast in nearby streets to start a vibrant day; at noon, it's too hot, so head back for a nap and scroll through your phone; at 4 PM, head out to find food or a spot for coffee and just relax; evenings are all about the hustle and bustle! 2. Hotel environment: It has a courtyard design, with flowers and plants everywhere, making it a quiet oasis in the middle of all the action. It offers the warmth of a B&B with the management of a hotel! 3. Room: We chose the 3rd-floor LOFT, which gave the kids their own space. It would have been even more perfect if the view from the balcony was a bit better! The public area on the 2nd floor is also great, you could sit there all afternoon with a coffee or tea. 4. The ancient city offers a variety of snacks, so you can spend a whole day just walking, stopping, eating, and exploring 😁 Everyone can cross䞭汱慏曭 (Zhongshan Park) to 青ćčŽè·Ż (Qingnian Road) for more food! I recommend 锊矀鄭ćș— (Jinqun Restaurant); for a Cantonese foodie like me, it's right up my alley – large portions with that 'wok hei' flavor! It has that street-side stall vibe! We ate there two days in a row. Although the rating isn't high, I've included photos, so you can judge for yourselves.

This is an aged hotel with a very old facility. The washroom that we live in the first day on 14F even found leakage after taking a shower. However, we are lucky that they accept our complaints and make an upgrade into 24F without additional cost added. Nevertheless, this hotel still provides a good dinning quality in the breakfast. If you want to enjoy a good meal in the morning with too much attention on the room facilities, I believe this is still an alternative for you.

Our stay here was absolutely fantastic! The room was spotless and bright, and the bedding was so soft and comfortable, guaranteeing a great night's sleep. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and helpful; check-in was quick and efficient, and they even thoughtfully provided complimentary welcome fruit. The overall atmosphere was quiet and elegant, with attention to detail evident everywhere. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit! ✹

The room had hand soap and laundry detergent, which was a nice touch. It's really close to the subway station – you just cross the street after exiting, which is super convenient. The room was also pretty quiet at night. However, I found the breakfast to be just okay, not much variety. Also, the tissue paper in the room wasn't individually wrapped, and when we told housekeeping we ran out, they just brought us a stack of loose tissues.

My first time in Fuzhou and I chose to stay at Hampton by Hilton, as many people do... The location is great, very close to Shudou subway station, and only two stops away from Fuzhou Railway Station. It's also not far from Sanfang Qixiang and Yantaishan, which is very convenient. The facilities are relatively new, the WiFi is fast, and screen mirroring works smoothly without lag. There are two pillow options, which is quite nice for those who are particular about their pillows. The only downside is that the shower temperature was a bit low, which seems to be a common issue with Hampton hotels in several cities I've stayed in. The breakfast is decent, and they offer some Fuzhou specialties. Overall, it's excellent, and I would choose to stay here again if I come back to Fuzhou.

I always enjoy trying new hotels when I travel, and this time I chose Atour Hotel. I stayed for two nights, and the experience exceeded my expectations. The environment is beautiful, and the outdoor lounge area is very pleasant – you can sit there and enjoy the moon at night. The hotel's location is also good, quite close to West Street, within walking distance. The bedding was incredibly comfortable; my mom especially loved the pillows, and we both had good rest during our two-day stay. Every staff member was very attentive, always greeting us with a smile. The young man at the front desk even gave us complimentary breakfast, and when we checked out, they gave us water and a small gift. They were all very warm and welcoming, and my family was very satisfied.

Xiamen Tai Nung Hotel - Extremely Satisfied Stay, Highly Recommended! My entire stay at Xiamen Tai Nung Hotel was absolutely fantastic, a truly comfortable travel and accommodation experience that I simply have to rave about! First and foremost, the location is absolutely perfect, making transportation incredibly convenient. The hotel is right by Heping Wharf, and you can walk to Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street in just a few minutes, making shopping and dining super easy. It's also very convenient for taking a boat to Gulangyu Island, being close to the ferry terminal, so no long journeys. There are also subway stations and multiple bus lines nearby, saving time and hassle whether you're visiting various attractions or heading back home – it's just so tourist-friendly. Secondly, the hotel service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive, genuinely feeling sincere throughout. The front desk staff were warm and friendly during check-in, communication was smooth, and they even offered a free room upgrade, giving us a more spacious and comfortable room than expected. Considering our travel plans, they also kindly extended our check-out time, so we didn't have to rush our itinerary and could rest and pack more leisurely. These small details show how considerate they are, and the staff were patient, meticulous, and always provided excellent service. Additionally, the hotel's dining options were a huge bonus, full of thoughtful touches. The hotel thoughtfully provides afternoon tea and late-night snacks. The afternoon tea was exquisite and delicious, allowing us to taste authentic Southern Fujian snacks – perfect for an afternoon break. The late-night snacks offered a rich variety, including warming and comforting dishes like Angelica beef noodles and Satay noodles. Coming back to the hotel after a tiring day of sightseeing and enjoying a portion instantly cured our travel fatigue. This thoughtful service truly hits the spot. Overall, Xiamen Tai Nung Hotel boasts an excellent location, heartwarming service, attention to detail, and incredible value for money. Choosing this hotel for your trip to Xiamen is a sure bet, you won't be disappointed! I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Xiamen!

Facilities: It's not a smart hotel, and the facilities are indeed a bit old, but it doesn't affect the stay. Hygiene: It's clean, but the room cleaning is just average. Environment: It's very close to Xiamen's Eighth Market, which is really convenient. The BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) stop is right across the street. Service: The service was enthusiastic. The front office manager kindly upgraded my room for free and thoughtfully informed me that the upgraded room would face the main street and might be noisy. But in reality, I found it not noisy at all, very nice!

This place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

Thoroughly enjoy every bit of our stay with 1949 resort. The whole vibe of the place is very relaxed and chill. The images of the room is very accurate and high tech. At the night you can enjoy the peace and serenity away from city take things really slowly and appreciate nature. The owner of the place is very hospitable as well. She is able to cater to our needs for dinner options and also provided an amazing chinese breakfast platter. I wish I have plan 1 more night here.
