The villa's ambiance and decor are quite nice, with a refrigerator and microwave. It's a 10-minute walk to the beach, but the soundproofing is poor. I didn't get a good night's rest after two days. We stayed in the master bedroom on the second floor, which has a bathroom. The other rooms had music playing outside on the first day, and the children were playing and making noise on the second day. It seemed like the door couldn't be locked, and I wasn't sure if it was locked, as it could be opened directly from the inside.
I had an incredible stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. The beach view from my room was absolutely stunning—waking up to the sound of waves and watching the sunset from the balcony was pure bliss.
The private beach access was a major highlight. It felt exclusive and peaceful, perfect for morning walks or just lounging without the crowds. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean was equally impressive—crystal clear, beautifully designed, and ideal for both swimming and soaking in the view.
My room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with plenty of room to unwind after a day in the sun. The bed was comfortable, and the amenities were thoughtful and modern.
Another plus: free car parking! It made everything so convenient, especially for those driving in.
Overall, this hotel delivered on every front—comfort, luxury, and location. I’ll definitely be back!
We had a lovely 2 night stay here. The views from the room was incredible. The room itself was clean but could have been better - the mattress was very hard, the hot water was almost non-existent and the shower head was barely working.
Breakfast was a pretty standard hotel buffet. Food was good but a little lacking in variety. Note that the restaurant is over 2 levels so not very accessible-friendly.
everything is ok.. the breakfast food is delicious while eating you can see the sea.. the view is beautiful.. the location is good.. the beach is close to the hotel.. only the cleanliness is a little lacking in the room.. the bed sheet is dirty but a little.. the worst thing is the smell of the pillow is a bit less pleasant.. hope the hotel can make improvements
I stayed at this hotel in Room 807. The hotel is very beautiful and the room I received met my expectations. However, when I wanted to make coffee in the room, the cup had stains, and the bedsheet also had stains that were covered with liquid paper, but it was still acceptable. The breakfast was very delicious with a wide variety of choices.
What really needs attention is the attitude of the front office staff. They should be more friendly towards guests, regardless of status. I checked in and checked out with the same staff member. Does this hotel provide training for staff to serve only certain guests? This is a 5-star hotel, not a budget hotel. The staff had no eye contact, no smile, and not even a greeting. He didn’t even ask how our stay was. I usually stay in 5-star hotels and the staff are always very friendly and kind, but this particular staff member did not seem suitable to be at the front desk.
However, thanks to Mr. Malik from the Front Office for his good service when we inquired about a late check-out.
Ok with good location, out of town. not too bzy lots of greens. Staffs are foreigner having a difficulty in communication. Whatsup hotel support is great. Deposit will be refunded with 1-2 days.
I was very satisfied with the hotel. The room was spacious enough to open up two large suitcases without any problem. Since it's newly opened, all the facilities are brand new. The room has a balcony with a sea view. The small sofa is also very comfortable, and the mini-bar's cooling works great. The lobby is quite beautiful, and right across the street, there's a 7-Eleven and a Domino's. The lobby is on the 8th floor, the pool is on the 7th floor, and there's another elevator nearby that goes down to the beach on the G floor.
The hotel is great, staff are impeccable in their attentiveness to the guest. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was absolutely outstanding, with an abundance of choices catered to satisfy every taste. The pool and gym are also fantastic, with the added convenience of being open 24/7, to put in an early morning workout. Spacious and very well equipped and maintained.
However, our stay was not without faults and there are definitely some things management needs to address:
- the noise from the elevator automatic announcements is absurd! the ”doors opening/closing” alerts are constant and audible from neighboring floors as well as your own.If you stay in a room numbered xx15 or xx16, be advised you will not have a pleasant time - we asked to change rooms immediately as soon as we realized this.
- elevators can be SLOW, magma slow. it can take a long time to move around if you are staying in a higher floor. We stayed for 2 nights and during that period 2 separate elevators were down for maintenance. It took us a total of 15 minutes to move from one floor to the other, after getting our room changed (for reasons stated above) and new keycards.
- the level from street noise audible in the room is just inadmissible at a supposed 5-star hotel level, at least in the rooms facing the main road. These rooms have, inexplicably, a single pane of glass and very tall windows, which makes soundproofing pretty much nonexistent - mat rempit bikes racing in the dead of night, the call to prayer blasting from the loudspeakers of the mosque nearby before 6am, drilling from the construction site nearby, and other nuisances that definitely disturbed my sleep.
Found a cockcroach beneath the bed comforter.i have to kill it before it escapes. I couldn't sleep the whole night. My first and last stay in this hotel.i didn't ask for change of room as it was past midnight and my things are all unpacked.
Our family had a wonderful stay at Lexis Suites Penang! The room was very spacious and we absolutely loved the private pool — perfect for relaxing after a day out. There are fun family activities on the 8th floor like table tennis, which the kids really enjoyed.
Just outside the hotel, there’s a Chinese seafood restaurant that serves delicious food at affordable prices, plus you get to enjoy an amazing sunset view while dining — highly recommended!
The hotel also provides a free shuttle to Queensbay Mall, but do note you need to book it one day in advance (we missed it because this wasn’t communicated clearly).
Overall, a great family getaway, and it’s very convenient — just about 10 minutes from the airport!

JJN768The PARKROYAL Penang Resort is highly rated, especially as a family-friendly, beachfront destination in Batu Ferringhi, praised for its excellent service and direct access to the beach. Guests consistently highlight the resort's great pool areas—including the Amazonia Splash water park—and the diverse, delicious breakfast offerings. While some older rooms might show minor wear or have noisy A/C units, the location is excellent, placing guests within walking distance of the famous Batu Feringghi Night Market.

NnamiraazlinnWe really enjoyed our short stay. The hotel is beautiful & the service was excellent. The room is also spacious enough for two & the bed was so comfortable we didnt want to leave. We loved the variety of the breakfast spreads but tbh, the taste was just mid. Didnt enjoy the walk to the beach as the stairs were a bit steep but the pool was just enough for us to enjoy. All in all, would definitely come again! Pls improve on the food :>
GGuest UserIt is a beachfront hotel. There is a beach that kids can swim and play there . It’s perfect for family. I like sit by the restaurant to watch the sunset and feel relaxed. The restaurant has breakfast but not variable enough. Beside has a friendly swimming pool for kids . There is a gym next to the pool. It is sea view gym but the equipment in there is not many choices. The hillside room is spacious and clean. But it is near to main road so you can hear the vehicle noise in the middle of night. The staff are very friendly and nice. If you like to eat the local food, there is a local food court in walking distance. There is variety of choices and delicious.
MM M ISHTIAQAscott Gurney Penang is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are clean and very comfortable, the staff are friendly, and the facilities are well-maintained. The breakfast is good and the location is super convenient — near malls, restaurants, and the seafront. Really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back!
AAnonymous UserThe location is excellent, with direct access to the beach from the hotel pool. However, it's essentially a budget hotel, similar to what you'd find in China. Prices were inflated due to the National Day holiday, attracting many Chinese tourists to Penang. Overall, it's still quite good, especially for a hotel so close to the sea.

PPotatoVoyageI had a delightful two-night stay at Shangri-La Penang! The lush greenery and big old trees provided lovely shade, creating a relaxing atmosphere while I sit near the pool or beach. The beach offered nice sunset view, but I am unsure if it’s swimmable
We stayed in the Rasa Wing room, which came with lounge access and complimentary cocktails in the evening. The staff were warm and friendly, making us feel right at home.
While the hotel shows some age, it’s clear they’re working hard to maintain everything. Overall, it was a wonderful getaway, and recommend 👍🏻
Our Rasa Garden room had some water flow / plumbing noises (from the ceiling), even when we are not using the bathroom. Not sure if it’s because of old age building / old building design.
DDonnacfleeNicely decorated resort. Very laid back. Extremely friendly and helpful staff that tried their very best to accommodate customer needs. I recommend that you ask for a room downstairs if you are staying in a family suite for four persons. This type of rooms are more spacious and have an outdoor seating area and direct access to the deck. Must also try the cafe, Biru Buru. Loved the atmosphere.
