The environment and the sea view from the window are both beautiful. The hygiene is excellent, and there's a supermarket downstairs, which is very convenient for buying things. The only minor drawback is that using the washing machine costs extra, and there are no complimentary disposable toothbrushes or slippers.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the night market, and the sunset views in the evening are fantastic. There are lots of delicious food options nearby. The only downside is that it's a bit far from George Town, about a 20-minute motorbike ride or a 35-minute taxi ride. The hotel itself has a 5-star standard in terms of facilities, and the breakfast offers a wide variety. However, the hotel was incredibly crowded, probably because of Chinese New Year.

Everything is good..the room is clean and comfortable, the view is beautiful. The beach is behind the resort. Only the elevator had a big problem. It was too slow, and we waited 20 minutes but still couldn't go down. Full of people. We had to use the stairs to go down to the 15th floor.

Stayed here for four out of five days in Penang. Finally got a twin room with a beautiful city view – excellent value for money! The sink is quite deep, which was handy for a quick wash of intimates. There's a 7-Eleven about 500m across the street, and a small convenience store right opposite, making it super easy to grab water and other essentials.

The hotel is a bit old, but I actually found the bed quite comfortable, unlike some reviews that mentioned sagging. It's in a great location for exploring; just a short walk around the corner and you'll find the colorful shophouses and plenty of local snacks. You'll need to grab a ride to get to Mural Street and the Peranakan Museum. Breakfast was a bit weak; you have to cook your own noodles, and when I went at 9:30 AM, they said they had run out of eggs, which the hotel definitely needs to improve on. Other services were pretty good though.

Fantastic experience! I hesitated a lot before booking, but I'm so glad I made the right choice. It's an established five-star hotel with excellent service and a rich variety of breakfast options. The best part is the swimming pool – storage, showers, bath, and sauna are all available, and the pool water is very clean. Our room had no strange smells, though we didn't spend much time there apart from sleeping. All the great food spots are within walking distance, and taxis can easily find the location. The front desk staff can communicate perfectly in Mandarin. Highly recommended!

Our first night was unfortunately not good. Our room was on the 6th floor, directly under the pool area and pool terrace. We could clearly hear kids running around and chairs being dragged late into the evening. The sound insulation of the building also seems quite weak. We could hear the couple in the neighboring room talking very clearly, and they were noisy throughout the night, which resulted in a sleepless first night. The next morning we spoke to the hotel staff, and they arranged another room for us in the main building. This room was much better, and after that we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay. The air conditioning was quite noisy, so we had to turn it off at night. On the positive side, the location is very nice. There is a very good food court right next to the hotel, and George Town is about a 25-minute Grab ride away. Overall, after changing rooms the stay improved significantly, but soundproofing could definitely be better.

My bedroom wad super noisy, next to a road, I could hear the trafic all day long. It was better during the night. The management gave me a quiet bedroom me for my second night as it was full for the first night. The court was dirty but they sent someone to clean it, change the bedsheet with stains and repair the broken tap. The bottles of shower soap are tricky as the straw is too short. The bathroom can be locked from outside as you can see on pictures. There are 2 marts next door, thai food and rôti stall. The bedroom doesn't look like the pictures I saw on the page.

The best hotel my family and I have stayed at in Penang. I truly love this hotel and the view from the room is absolutely beautiful. There’s no other choice for me whenever I come here. The room is spacious and very comfortable for a family vacation. 😊

How do I put this? This Hilton offers decent value for money, but it wasn't ideal for someone like me who's a light sleeper. The first room they gave me had a constant humming noise – I'm not sure if it was the exhaust fan or a drainpipe. They did move me to another room where the noise was a bit quieter, but it was still present. On the positive side, the breakfast spread was very generous, and the overall environment and service were excellent. There's a skybridge that leads directly to the beach, and the pool was also very clean and enjoyable, with lots of kids playing there – my own child loved it. The only downside was that it got quite noisy at night. However, the hotel seems to be situated on a higher elevation, so it was wonderfully cool in the evenings. I barely used the air conditioning, as that would probably have been too noisy. Without the AC, it was a bit chilly in the early morning and late evening, but it would definitely be too hot during the day.

RRayTFirst of all the hotel rented out the rooms for individual operator. So there will be different check in counter. Upon check in, been told that the room card not functioning as they are doing upgrading, so every time u come back will need to call the house keeping to unlock the door. Most importantly they charge RM 17 per night for car parking. So a lot of car parking outside which make the entrance a bit difficult

GGuest UserWe were a bit nervous after reading the reviews online but we had a really excellent stay. The rooms were super clean and modern with a beautiful sea view and the bed was really comfortable. The rooms had a kettle with teas, a hairdryer and iron and the shower was lovely and hot. Great AC too. The pool was lovely with a beautiful view of the sea and very nice and peaceful. The location was also great with a huge food market right opposite. Overall a really lovely stay

GGuest UserYou absolutely *must* book a sea-view room! Sea-view! Sea-view! The hotel is right on the beach with expansive views, and it's about a ten-minute walk to the fireworks show and the iron flower performance. It's livelier than the quieter resorts nearby, but in a fun way, and the kids absolutely loved playing in the various pools. If you don't have kids, you might find it a bit noisy and not appreciate the lively atmosphere. Seriously, do NOT book a non-sea-view room, as they face the mosque's loudspeakers. The morning calls to prayer start early, and just walking by, you feel for the guests staying there. Our sea-view twin room was upgraded to a suite by the front desk, which came with its own play facilities, including bunk beds for kids – a truly memorable experience. Although the hotel has been open for a while, the facilities are still well-maintained. While the front desk staff don't speak Chinese, there's usually an assistant in the lobby who can help with Chinese communication, so it's not a big issue. Breakfast was decent, nothing spectacular.

GGuest UserThe room was spacious and clean. The staff were attentive and prompt in attending to our needs. They served us more bottles of water in our room on request. We had a pleasant welcome with a drink and ice cream. The hotel is just beside the Gurney Plaza, which makes it convenient for shopping and dining. Highly recommended.

JjazzietravelsFirst time going to Penang, loved the location of the hotel. Amazing view of the beach from our room, and saw fireworks one night was a treat. They keep the beach clean for the property, each day saw it being cleared. The pool is a good refreshing temperature. Majority of the time isn't overly busy. Good depth and size of pool. I enjoyed swimming laps each day and relaxing on the sunloungers. Kept clean, fresh towels available. Good pool toys for the kids. The gym was amazing, good equipment and machines- beautiful view of the ocean. I would prefer the air con colder as the one in there didnt cool the room down enough and if wasn't standing near it, it got very hot. The water provided in there also isn't cold which i didnt like ( is in a machine that says keeping warm, which i dont understand shouldn't drink warm water when working out, don't know if it's a culture thing? Wasn't to my liking anyway) The room is spacious, bathroom bit tight but made do. Nice amenities topped up daily. Bed comfortable. Air con in room works amazing. Cleanliness in room noticed could've been better as after room being 'cleaned' noticed my hair still on floor and sand in corner from shoes. So seems the floor doesn't get swept or mopped as much as we thought. Buffet breakfast was great, yummy food and lots of everything. Plenty of staff i just think they need to be more attentive and watch the buffet e.g kids touching food ( saw few things) and make sure the food is safe for other guests to eat. We ate at the hotel lunch and dinner also, the staff mean well but there is a language barrier and was few instances where our meals didn't come out correct like we got a tomato soup when we pointed and said on the menu tomato pasta. We are patient enjoyed the food and kept going back despite the mistakes. We understand a second language can be difficult. Amazing fresh cakes in fridge we just about tried them all. The staff also did a lovely birthday song and candles on cake my husband brought. Overall had a lovely time.

XXiaotuzijiadexiaopangmiaoI saw mixed reviews online and was quite worried before arriving, but after checking in, I found it wasn't as bad as some people said. First, the hotel's location isn't as prime as hotels like Parkroyal or Marina Bay Sands, but it's not far to walk to the beach. You just turn right, walk straight until you hit a FamilyMart, turn in there, and you'll find it. There's also a good shop run by two Pakistani guys in that row. The beach is just a short walk from there. Second, the hotel has nice views and is indeed great for photos, but it's true, as mentioned online, that the public areas aren't super clean, and the fabric sun loungers are quite poorly maintained – I couldn't bring myself to lie on them. To be fair, the room's cleanliness was decent. I was really scared about the bugs some reviewers mentioned, but there genuinely weren't any, even when we left the balcony door open at night – no flying insects, and no small ants, which was a relief. The chairs and sofa on the room balcony, however, weren't particularly clean and had some stains. In Southeast Asia, it's really hard to expect absolute newness and cleanliness, so bringing our own disposable toiletries made it acceptable for us. Upon check-in, they also offered two complimentary drinks, letting us relax in the restaurant while we waited for our room to be ready. The bellboy also helped with luggage, so the service level was quite good. The breakfast is average. This hotel is more suited for couples or friends looking for a quiet, photo-friendly place with a vacation vibe. If you're traveling with children, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Ccherry01251I'd say the value for money is decent. The room and views were both good. We didn't book breakfast, and the restaurants across the street seemed like local eateries, with many not open in the mornings, so we just bought instant noodles from the supermarket on our second day. It's quite close to the popular beach, and the swimming pool service was good. The housekeeping staff were also very polite and delivered things promptly. However, the only issue was that on the first day, there were no small towels in the room, and on the second day, there were no large towels, which is quite unacceptable. Also, the hotel beer is very expensive at 32 MYR a bottle, even more so than at the beach bars.

PPangxiaoJoFirst, the basic hotel info: it's a 40-minute drive from the old town. We've stayed at many 'Roc' brand hotels before, but this one was surprisingly small. Also, there are no shows or performances on weekdays. Regarding cleanliness, our room faced the pool, which made it quite noisy. If you prefer quiet, you might want to request a room on the other side. Now, breakfast. It was still 'Roc' style, but there really wasn't much to eat. We booked a three-day, two-night stay, and on our second morning, we were told breakfast wasn't included. This was absolutely ridiculous! The hotel's front desk had already confirmed it was included, yet the restaurant staff insisted it wasn't. They kept making us reconfirm and even took photos. Couldn't they just check with the front desk themselves? This lack of attention to detail was really disappointing.
