Location 1
Directly across from Imabari Port, 3 minutes? It was so wonderful.
The view of Imabari Castle from the room was great.
2. Service: Absolutely fantastic.
This was my first time seeing a place that offered unlimited candy and chocolates.
So, of course, they had bath products like toothpaste, toothbrushes, and razors, and they also had about 10 different bath bombs (if you bought them at a store, you'd have to pay at least 3,000 won each, but they provided 10 different types for free). It was amazing and fascinating.
3. Breakfast: The best.
Even if you pay out of pocket or pay extra, you absolutely must try this hotel's breakfast. They cook it right in front of you early in the morning—you can watch it being prepared.
Not only the Japanese set menu, but even the toast is truly top-notch.
Grilled sea bream is always served as a side dish, and it's even better than at a regular restaurant.
They also serve fantastic fried eggs, a uniquely Japanese half-moon shape—when you cut it open with a spoon, it's slightly soft-boiled and bursts with a burst of flavor.
If you're visiting Imabari, be sure to stay here.
Are there any guests? I wanted to eat breakfast and dinner - if you pay extra at the hotel, you don't have to go to an outside restaurant. You can have it served until 3 p.m.
There are no seats available during meal times, lol.
While there are a lot of people at the hotel, it's quiet.
I really, really recommend this hotel.
Oh, you can take the bus to Imabari Futo Station. I took the bus from Matsuyama to Imabari and back. The bus fare was 1,200 yen. ^^
The bus was really convenient and on time. It never arrived even a minute late.
The hotel is about a 500-meter walk from Matsuyama Station. Dining options nearby are somewhat limited, but there's a convenience store right across the street. Rooms on higher floors offer views of Matsuyama Castle, and it's also conveniently close to the tram line. It's an older hotel, yet the rooms are quite spacious. It reminds me of a 4-star hotel in China from about 20 years ago.
Hotel is in a great spot for doing Shimanami Kado cycling route. Breakfast has a good selection. Room size is reasonably ok for Japan hotels. Room is able to store bike if needed
- Nice location. So close to Dogo Onsen street
- Clean and quiet, relatively large room space
- Grand bath is very simple and nice, has wonderful scenary views
- Breakfast is quite good compared to the other hotels in the same class
- Basic room charge is moderate, but additional charge for kid is quite expensive.
- Overall, strongly recommended. I would stay again if I get to Matsuyama again.
I love this hotel very much. The service is very friendly, even though I don't speak the language well. I am very satisfied with the location, the artistic atmosphere in the public areas, the view facilities in the rooms, the hot springs, etc. I chose the seasonal Setouchi kaiseki cuisine for dinner. A group of six people were in the Asagi room, which was a pleasant surprise.
I stayed here around November 20th. I chose to stay overnight for a multi-day course for high school boys. I'm sensitive to cold, but the air conditioning seemed to be good so I didn't get cold and my throat didn't get dry and I was comfortable. It was only adjustable with a dial, but I turned it on and off to adjust it to a weaker setting. It was standard, so the location is not outstanding, but it is sufficient. The breakfast was so delicious that both my son and I had a second helping. The taro was light, soft and moist. I was told at the reception that if cleaning is not necessary, you can leave your towel out and they will put a new one in. Every night we had dinner at the Aeon Mall next door. It's very convenient as you can walk and go shopping. The room was kept very clean and there was little noise at night. The Heart Network festival and local news were interesting and enjoyable.
A good 5 mins walk away from the hustle and bustle of Imabari Station. That is a pro because the noise in hotel is less when you want quiet sleep.
I had a wonderful time here. Very clean and sanitary. Everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Netflix capable tv was a huge plus!
I will definitely stay again.
The REF Matsuyama City Station Hotel by VESSEL Hotels boasts an exceptionally prime location, right in the very heart of Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture. It's conveniently situated right next to Takashimaya department store and the city's iconic Ferris wheel 🎡, offering super easy access to both Matsuyama Castle and Shimonada Station.
The room itself was quite spacious. This was my first time in Japan encountering a design where the washbasin was cleverly positioned outside the main bathroom area, which genuinely made the bathroom feel more expansive. The room also came equipped with a small table and two chairs, which was incredibly convenient.
The breakfast was a particular highlight! There was a wide variety of delicious options, and everything tasted great. The sea bream sashimi, in particular, was incredibly fresh and succulent 😋. Among the five types of orange juice available, the 'Wenzhou Orange' was the sweetest – I highly recommend anyone visiting to try it! 🥳
Located in front of Mitsukoshi department store, it's convenient for shopping and dining. The hotel is compact and easy to use. The breakfast was quite substantial. There is a kettle in the room, but no coffee, so I recommend bringing your own.
The room was spacious and clean, so I was very satisfied. The bath in the building (additional charge) was also great. It's a bit disappointing that you can't use it if you have a tattoo. The bar on the top floor was also great. The breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety and was delicious.

GGuest UserThe overall environment was great. However, there’s one thing I’m extremely dissatisfied with—the walls! The wall between my room and the next is incredibly thin, and it even shakes. I have no idea what kind of ******* is staying next door, but around 12:30 a.m., they suddenly started banging on the wall multiple times. My bed is right up against that wall, and it shook violently three or four times, waking me up in shock. After that, about every hour, they kept hitting the wall again, making it shake like it was during an earthquake. I honestly never expected a hotel room at ANA to have walls of such poor quality! Even now, thinking back to that night still frightens me.
GGuest UserIf you're traveling with family, especially with your parents, this is a place I definitely recommend!! The size of the place is so huge that even if there's nothing nearby, just playing around inside the place is so much fun! The quality of the breakfast, dinner, and buffet is amazing... There's a massage shop, table tennis table, bar, and more, so there's nothing you can't find. The hot springs are amazing, and it was perfect to enjoy the hot springs while looking out at the forest. ㅠㅠ If I go to Matsuyama next time, this is a place I'll definitely be visiting again!!
GGuest UserConventient location; 10 minute walk to nearest bus station, and about 30 minutes max travel time to anywhere we wanted to go!
Room was clean and compact; but the double bed is quite squeezy if you're fitting two people inside.
Buffet breakfast is 1300¥ if you inquire the day before you intend to eat. It is 1500¥ if you buy it on the day itself.
Accidentally booked a smoking room; but the staff were kind enough to change it for us once they had a room.
YYanyu11The location is fantastic, right on the main street. You can take the airport bus directly to Mitsukoshimae. A taxi to the airport costs about 2500 yen. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, which is excellent. Express buses to places like Takamatsu leave right from the hotel entrance, and there are plenty of restaurants across the street. There's a Starbucks downstairs, and it's a maximum 10-minute walk to Saka no Ue no Kumo. The tram stop outside the hotel can take you to Dogo Onsen.
AayutripA Perfect Business Hotel! The rooms are new, clean, and compact but very functional. The bathroom was spotless and shiny. Personally, I really liked the library café in the lobby — a cozy space available to hotel guests even before check-in and after check-out. It offers free drinks, Wi-Fi, and power outlets. Breakfast had a limited selection, but everything was delicious.

GGuest UserHotel has some distance from the main Dogo mall but it has shuttle bus running every 10 mins from 3-10. Hotel itself is very clean and most of the staff were so friendly and carried traditional Japanese good manner.
My room is Japanese style and I love it. The breakfast was ok but the dinner was abundant, delicious and presented nicely. The staff named Itsuki Deguchi who took care my check in and dining service did a good job worthy to receive compliments.
Onsen was clean and very nice.
Will stay again next time

KKongjiekkkThe hotel's location is excellent, right across from Dogo Onsen Honkan. You step out directly onto the shopping street, and Dogo Onsen Station is just a 3-minute walk away. There are buses to the train station, JR station, airport, and ferry terminal. The staff are very friendly and greet you every day with great enthusiasm. The breakfast is simple but nutritious. It offers great value for money and is highly recommended.
