One of the staff in reception was so rude. We came 2 hours earlier for early check in so later at 2pm we will just take the card. But at 2pm, another staff which is the rude one didnt said anything regarding the room either ready or not. She just busying herself with the phone. So we ask, why need to wait? She answered with a little bit high note, ”tiada bilik ready skg. Sy tunggu housekeeping update bilik kosong.” No appologies at all. We understand if no rooms available, but please inform guests & use your manners. Need to wait another 30 minutes to get a room. 🥲🥲

OK, nice and clean room, nice for rest a while, and it in mall so just out if look for food or shopping.

The only hotel in DesignHotelsTM group in Borneo island! The lobby and room design, coffee, cocktail and food quality is probably the best you'll find in Sabah and its at par with Singapore standards. The hotel doesn't just give you the environment of a design hotel, great coffee, bespoke cocktails, delicious food but it also offers true Sabahian hospitality that you will not experience anywhere else. As soon as I arrived, one of the hotel owners personally came and greeted me and spend his time to give me a tour and explain the concept of the hotel and its design. The design of the hotel is influenced by different Sabahian landscapes and local craftsmanship depicted through contemporary means. Materials and craft is all sourced locally. I had the chance to meet both the owners and their hospitality was unprecedented. They took their time to get to know me and introduce Sabah and its culture. Something that you will not experience at big chain hotels. The LUMA is a brand new hotel group. There will always be room for improvement in their services. The willingness to improve is there and they listen if you have any complaints or needs.

The hotel is near to attraction places which is craft market and have dobi service beside hotel. The view is excellent which is ocean view. The breakfast should have improve to have more variety. Amenities room is excellent and have more spaces. The problem is WiFi is very slow.

Love the stay! 😍 We stayed at Studio Premier Queen Room and it was perfect for my husband and I as they have literally everything! From the kitchen utensils, pots & pans, toaster, chopping board, knifes, they even have microwave! They even have iron & iron board! It really feels like home ❤️ Oh, also they have complete facilities too such as public washing machine, gym, swimming pool, meetinh room & more ~ Citadines Waterfront Kota Kinabalu is just located at the city centre, it's so convenient! Thank again for the pleasant stay, love the friendly staffs too 💞 Definitely will be back again with my family next! 🥰

Hotel is in a good central location. Staff are friendly and quick to assist. I reserved a room last minute and was still able to get a good deal for a good size room that was clean. Bed was comfortable. Free parking in the lot right in front of the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Dreamtel. The highlight was definitely the breakfast, which offered a wide variety of delicious food options to suit every palate. The hotel was also clean, and the staff ensured everything was well-maintained throughout our stay. It was a comfortable and enjoyable experience, and we’d be happy to return!

I initially stayed 2 nights January 2025, climbed Mt Kinabalu, and came back for another night. Different but similar rooms. Very comfortable bed, great shower; mini-fridge and safe also available. Restaurant served good food. A pity the Spa wasn’t open as after my mountain climb I could hardly walk and my legs and back badly needed a massage! Hamizam Bin Ismail, the Front Office Manager, was always very friendly and eager to assist wherever he could.

Front desk service is best, friendly with most smiling face, always greeting and friendly chat to customer, bedding matters a bit soft and some spring is not well in condition, but ovell room amenities is good. However, I really wondered why a 5 stars Hotel the restaurant all size plate, bowl, even cups are so so oily, sticky, food mark, stains on almost all pieces of them, I keep on looking for more clean one but sad to said is no one is clean, really very sticky and oily, hope the restaurant can look serious on this matter, I can said I never seen such dirty plate, even I go to 2 or 3 star hotel, the plate is more clean then Le Meridien, but food and beverage is good, I love the service can custome order our favourite fresh fruit juice and coffee

I would just rate it like a 4 stars hotel. Don’t expect too much, and it will be great. Breakfast just normal, waitstaff was a bit inattentive, not sure which table bring us to. didn’t book a seaview room, but my room was totally a blocked view 🤣. Can only see a huge rooftop of other buildings. But the room is clean, cleaning service quite good, I asked for more water and they did gave me more. One of the highlight could be their pool. Great sea view, I enjoyed it a lot. location is decent, still need to walk a bit to reach the main city area.

I have never stayed as good as 5 stars hotel such this Hyatt Regency in KK. Starting from reception, buttler, and front desk- all are so good in order. The receptionist who check me in was very helpful. The room perfect. Hot water is good, room is very spacefull and stunning. The decorations are just perfect, migh be Merry Chritsmas is coming. Just next time, maybe i will stay sea view. Better as have great view of KK ocean view.

Overall our 2-night stay at Hyatt Centric KK was comfy n relaxing. The lobby n top floor lounge ambience is excellent~feeling of calmness. Rooms are spacious n clean with beautiful sunset seaview. We especially like the bathroom with sitting bench~ a considerate design for guests who prefer to sit n shower. Restaurant staff were very well-mannered n helpful. The hotel is well located just opposite the Sabah Suria shopping mall, so it's very convenient if you wish to dine out or shop around…

Despite being an older property, the recent renovations have transformed its exterior into a modern and stylish design, giving it a fresh and appealing look. While the rooms retain their classic contemporary charm, they are still very comfortable. The food is outstanding, and the golf course is absolutely fantastic. However, there is a drawback. Since the rooms maintain much of their original state, some fixtures, like faucets and water taps, were not functioning properly. I had to call for maintenance, and unfortunately, it took almost 20 minutes for assistance to arrive, which was a bit inconvenient when trying to use the bathroom. Overall, it’s a great place to stay, but a bit more attention to room maintenance would make the experience even better.

A wonderful stay and couldn’t be starting in a different way of saying big thanks for the staffs Danny and Ahmad that was very attentive and friendly with my family, very cheerful since the beginning of our stay till the last day, noting with stay almost 2 weeks there . Another big thanks for Agnes during breakfast, very kind and cook delicious eggs . Staffs are very customer oriented, the facilities for kids are perfect , big thanks also for the staff (girls) from cool zone , where the kids had lots of fun. Food wise no matter at breakfast , dinner or snacks around pool very delicious . Improvements I would say, get better selection of draft beer, only have tiger . And the bartenders need to improve the cocktails , special the ones that are made around the pool. Celebration of new year was top notch for all guests I think . Definitely is a come back anytime soon .

it was a beautiful spot to see the sunset. Unfortunately during our stay the weather was not so great, we couldn't see the famous sunset. The breakfast was great and room was great. I will visit here If I am ever in town again. I love the swimming pool. The package was somewhat useful but can be better. The only complaint I have is the snorkeling aera. After a long trip arrived at hotel and quickly signed in. We were upgraded to a fantastic room, however phone and TV not working but a great balcony view of the South. China Sea and to the left the jungle. It was lovely to sit and watch the various birds and fireflies. Malaysia Airlines had lost one of our bags and did not seem concerned however after no success we spoke with James at reception who soon sorted it out and it arrived at 9pm. One day wasted Thanks Malaysia Airlines. The next day we had a leisurely breakfast plentiful and good choices of Malay and Western. Very courteous staff. Saw our first monitor lizard and had a garden tour by. a very informative employee Roy. Decided against the nature walk as advised not much to see this time of year. Spent most the day on the empty beach ( Some jellyfish but otherwise a nice dip) and in empty swimming pool. 3 linked pools lovely and warm but needs some maintenance and jacuzzi not working. Only a couple of restaurants were open and although quality of food was good the menus were similar. On our last day we had a very good Chinese style meal in The Noble House (Only open until early evening). As with most meals we were the only ones in the restaurant. All meals were very reasonably priced. The advertised firefly. tour was cancelled due to low tide but Christina arranged a private trip to see them and also the proboscis monkey. Well worth it. . Points to Note Low occupancy with the majority of guests staying overnight only, meant we had pools and beach to ourselves and the restaurants were virtually empty. Disadvantage was that some restaurants. and snack places did not open. Lovely remote location fantastic view , beach and garden walks however nothing in walking distance of the resort so unless taking a. taxi or day trip would not see or meet other local people restaurants or shops. Note the hotel shop has very limited souvenirs and only a few crisps and drinks. We had a great relaxing time, the hotel needs some updating and maintenance but that did not affect our.enjoyment. Staff were helpful and courteous and room clean and well stocked with water tea and coffee. A/C fine. So if you want a relaxing beach and pool holiday with good food and when we were there tranquility we recommend Nexus. PS book trips at the hotel as the one we booked through our agent was about 3 times more.

I chose this hotel because it was marked with five stars. Generally speaking, it is still a little different from the real five-star hotels in China, but it does not prevent this hotel from being the best hotel in Semporna. Let me start with the good points: 1. Because the hotel is new, all the facilities are new, the infinity pool has a great view, and the children's playground is a plus for tourists traveling with children. 2. The hotel itself is comfortable and the rooms are clean. Don't expect too much about the environment around the hotel. You can look forward to the sea view and sunrise and sunset in the distance. Disadvantages: 1. The breakfast is not rich enough 2. The bottom of the swimming pool is dirty, according to the children

This homestay is an independent cabin with a swimming pool in the yard, which is very beautiful. The owner is Chinese and can speak Chinese. The communication is very smooth and considerate. It is a little far from Semporna town. If you want to go there, the owner will send a driver to pick you up. You can also make reservations to the airport or the pier, which is very convenient. Breakfast is a simple meal, all freshly made. It is relatively fresh and good. You can consult the owner if you have any questions in Semporna. He is super nice and has adopted a kitten. It is a very pleasant accommodation experience. Because the environment is relatively primitive, there will be many mosquitoes and small animals. It is normal to appear in the house. Bring mosquito repellents to be more comfortable. I hope the boss's business will be prosperous!

It was my first time in Semporna and I chose to stay at the Wonderland Manor. I really made the right choice. The manor is very large and exquisite. Every corner makes me feel very comfortable. It is not a problem to stay for a few days. It feels like a paradise. The service attitude is very friendly and the room layout is very good. I will definitely come again next time.

We were a group of 20 people, and everyone was very satisfied. The boss and his wife were very nice. They would arrange a car to pick us up when we went out, and it was very convenient to dry clothes. The suite-like room we booked also had a mahjong table, which was pretty good! We checked out at 12 o'clock on the last day, and then we were going to island hopping. We could leave our luggage at the front desk, and we were allowed to hang our wet clothes on the balcony and collect them when we came back. We also provided two rooms for our group to take a shower and change clothes when we came back. The service was really good! Then the boss could arrange a car to take us to the town to buy seafood, and then process it back to the resort for processing, and charge a processing fee! The cooking skills are good! After the meal, the kids were very leisurely!

Good location near the Seafest jetty. Decent hotel with decent sized rooms. Nice sunset view from the room window. However, the rooms are quite old and the air conditioner is not cold at all. Otherwise the shower water pressure is great. The breakfast buffet has limited options and the food is below average. The egg counter gives pre-cooked eggs instead of made-to-order

Overall I enjoyed our stay in sky water villa. When I was booking I read the reviews also worried that they are a bit old, so that the houses might not be well maintained. But during my stay I feel like the houses are used but still in okay manner. The best thing for this hotel is that I think they have the best house reef, and you can see turtles at night from your balcany. I went snorkling a few times during my stay I saw quite a few clown fish aka nemo and many fishes and even a sea eel one day. They also provide “galss” kayak which you can watch sunset on it. And the best thing they offer is that the tours you book with the villa starts around 10 am, you can just get ready and wait in your room, and when the boat is here the staff will get you from your room, and you’ll finish the tour around 3-4 pm which is the afternoon tea time at the villa. Instead of in the town area you need wake up early and meet and wait at the jetty around 8:15 am . And power supply is stable just may be ocassion blackout but it would turn back on very soon. However I do think they need to clean their air con as the one in our room seems very dusty, we had to clean the filter ourselves, they were very dusty. And during the afternoon coz our villa faces the sunset direction the air con feels a bit not strong enough. And the aircon outer unit is installed right at the room’s wall so it’s a little bit noisy, I’d suggest why not just use a more powerful window unit instead. The food is so so, but it’s difficult to cater everyone’s preference for food. The hotel is not cheap and maybe not very cost effective compare to hotels in other places, but to be fair i think if you want to go to semporna, this might be a reasonable option as overall semporna and malaysia is very expensive for tourists. And i higly recommend to stay at least 2-3 nights instead of 1 night to fully enjoy and relax yourself.

Sea Star Perfect resort. Perfect location. Perfect staff. Wonderful owner, ERIC, who has great PR 👍🏻. Staff is respectful and friendly. I cannot ask for more. Highly recommend Sea Star Resort. We bought a 3D2N Sea Star Resort package. It included a return transfer by van from Tawau Airport to Semporna boat jetty which took almost 1.5h, a 10-minute boat ride to Sea Star Resort, a whole day of island hopping and snorkelling, all meals (breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner 👍🏻), free usage of inflatables, transparent paddle boat and snorkelling gear and unlimited supply of drinking water. The room is very clean and spacious- had a king size bed plus a day bed. Bath area was spacious and attractive. Really love this place very much. Look at the video I have attached! Air conditioned, good internet connection and extended balcony. Food is local buffet style. We enjoyed all our meals there. You will get an assortment of dishes. For dinner, you get good large prawns 🍤 and fish👍🏻. Tea is special- besides 2-3 types if local cakes, you get an endless supply of banana fritters which are very addictive 👍🏻 The sea water around the resort and beyond is crystal clear. You can always see the marine creatures in the water. From 4pm, use of inflatables, transparent paddle boat and snorkelling gear are supervised. Very kind staff who are ever ready to lend a helping hand. We are grateful to Eric, Gordon, Amsyar, Lisa and all the Sea Star Resort staff. We will be back! My stay at Jelly Sea Resorts was incredible. We were amazed at the view from the resort, the clear water, and the Bohey Dulang view from afar. We were told that we were the first Malay to stay at the resort (mostly Chinese tourists), it was such an achievement and honored 🥇😂. The room was big enough and what we liked about the room was that it had a patio where we could relax, provided with a netting bed and a ladder to go down swimming or snorkeling right from our own room. I would recommend Jelly Sea Resorts to anyone who wants to experience Semporna. It also provides 3 meals a day (breakfast-lunch-dinner) included in your booking and a boat transfer from the land to the resort and vice versa. The only thing we would comment on for improvement is to provide toilet bidet sprayer.

My girlfriend and I are from Sydney Australia and booked a four night stay at Pom Pom island resort. Safe to say this was the worst ‘resort’ experience we have ever had. We paid a significant amount of money thinking we were going to be in paradise but we were in for a rude awakening. So where do we start? 1. The accomodation. Originally, we booked a water villa. When we arrived, we realised that the water villas are about a 400m walk from the main eating area. You can’t swim off the jetty and if you stay in them, you may as well be in a sauna. After much reluctancy, the staff allowed us to move to a beach villa despite there being literally no one in the resort. 2. The food. We give a solid 0/10 for the food served. It’s buffet style Chinese food with the same ingredients everyday and does not change. You have scheduled eating hours so Goodluck if you get hungry. 3. Diving. We contacted them a month early to try book a trip to dive in Sipadan but were told you were unable to book through the resort. When we got here, we were told we couldn’t go because of lack of permits available. I’ll address this further below. Also worth noting that a lot of the coral around the island is dead. 4. Activities. They charge you for every activity you do and it’s pretty expensive. They make you wear life jackets if you want to swim in knee deep water. There is a mountain hike near by and they they charge you roughly 300 RM ($100) and demand you use a guide even thought it’s an easy walking track. You are not able to do anything without some sort of strict policy in place. 5. Bed bugs. Originally we thought we were getting eaten by mosquitos but realised after a long nap inside without any doors open and waking up covered in little bites that it was probably bed bugs. 6. Pollution. The island is covered in rubbish. We walked around the island and were shocked with the amount of rubbish washed up on shore. It’s really sad to see such a beautiful place be so polluted with plastic. 7. Because of all the above, we actually decided cut our trip short and head back to Semporna to book a day diving in Sipadan. In doing so, the resort tried to charge us an extra 600 RM ($200) for an off schedule boat trip back. This was the straw that broke the camels back and we refused to pay. I’m the end, they agreed on the terms of no refund for the lost night of accomodation and without any return trip back to the airport. All in all, this was an eye opening experience. The reviews of this place reflect what it may have been 10 years ago but is certainly not what it is today. Very disappointing and hope this review will deter literally anyone else from staying here again.
