4-Star Hotels in Liaoning, China

We had to scramble to Jinzhou due to medical emergency from overseas. We happened to book this hotel in a great hurry and it was truly the only thing that helped us preserve our sanity at a very fraught time. It was also our first time using trip.com as I could not find much options in Jinzhou on ***********, my long time app of choice. I was worried about how things would turn out since I didn't know if I could trust trip.com or fully research my options as we had to rush to pack as well. As it turned out, I'm 100% sure that no other hotel in 4th tier Jinzhou city could have given us the experience, comfort and ambience that Manxin Hotel did. I don't say that lightly as a seasoned international traveller who's stayed at many types of hotels/guesthouses/motels over the years, it takes *a lot* to impress us enough to earn my praise and endorsement in a review. Manxin Hotel felt like a small boutique hotel feel with 3 floors of rooms. It was only opened in Jan 2024, so it really feels nice and new with a high ceiling foyer /lounge area. The rooms are huge with huge floor to ceiling windows. Although it's next to a train station, the triple glazed windows amazingly cut out most of the noise. The beds were very comfortable, with great toiletries, great Laifun hairdryer and free drinks replenished daily. Even the tea bags they provided were of great quality. We stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks so we were very happy to be able to use the complimentary washing machine service which saved me the hassle of having to hand wash my clothes daily in my room! There were some drainage issues in the shower but the hotel staff did try to sort out the problem. There's also a spacious gym available for those who are fitness fanatics. The hotel breakfast had great variety with quality coffee (not easy to find good coffee in China). They even had a singer in the foyer 3 nights a week. Though I usually love listening to live music, the singers were students who were not quite able to deliver a performance befitting the old world charm and ambience of the hotel foyer. Any hotel can have the best of facilities but often fall short on the service front. Since we were staying there for 2 weeks, we often had to deal with the hotel staff on a daily basis. We found them to be very competent, sincere, friendly, understanding and helpful for the most part, willing to do all that they could to assist us during our time of considerable distress and strain due to our family emergency. Even the housekeeping staff and the lady clearing plates in the breakfast area were warm and helpful! As foreigners , we would sometimes need help with paperwork, scanning, photocopying, and other assistantance communicating with the outside world to make arrangements for international medical evacuation, WeChat/Alipay tutorials etc. We will always be grateful to the staff for all their efforts to assist in our time of need. In particular, we would like to thank Sales manager XY Yang and duty manager Hong for their tireless assistance and consideration. If we were to go to Jinzhou again, Manxin hotel would absolutely be our only choice.

To my friends visiting Shenyang, listen to me: just stay at this hotel, you won't regret it. The front desk service is excellent; they patiently help you with any issues. The laundry and gym on the second floor are free. If you're coming with kids, they even provide children's toothbrushes and slippers. There's a 24-hour convenience store right next door, so if you get hungry at night, it's just a few steps away. Upon check-in, they give you a little card with a comprehensive list of delicious food and fun places. Parking is free, and there are plenty of spaces. The room is spotlessly clean, making for a comfortable stay. The value for money is truly high. Plus, there's a slide and Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing) on the second floor; wearing the Hanfu was a lot of fun. I'll definitely book here again next time.

The room is spacious and well-designed. The ground-floor room comes with a lovely private courtyard where you can sit or lie down, facing the sea which is just 100 meters away – truly a perfect 'staring-at-the-sea' room. You can even walk directly from your courtyard in your bikini to go beachcombing or swimming. There are plenty of complimentary snacks in the room. All in all, I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit.

The front desk service at Atour was an absolute delight! The staff were warm and welcoming, and checked me in within minutes. Any requests for amenities were handled promptly and efficiently. Their genuine care and attention to detail truly made me feel valued. The hotel's minimalist yet elegant design, combined with its impeccable cleanliness, further enhanced my stay. This isn't your typical run-of-the-mill service; it's truly thoughtful and personalized. My entire stay was comfortable and worry-free. I highly recommend it to all travelers – it's a place worth returning to!

The hotel is in a great location on Shenyang Middle Street, offering a view of the Imperial Palace, though the windows were a bit dirty. The 1.8m and 1.2m beds can be combined, which is perfect for a family of four. The parking lot is in the building and quite a distance from the hotel entrance; you can't access the hotel directly from the underground parking. The hotel breakfast was decent, and they offer freshly ground coffee.

The room was very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and pleasant with a well-thought-out design. The location is convenient for accessing attractions like Venice Water Town, Zhongshan Square, and Dongguan Street. After a short walk, you can catch the Route 201 'Centennial Special' tram, which adds to the experience. There are also many local specialty restaurants nearby. Overall, everything else was excellent.

The hotel rooms are spotless, and the hygiene inspection was incredibly thorough. The entertainment facilities, especially the swimming pool, are beautiful. The meals are delicious, and the staff are all very friendly. Breakfast is served from 7 AM to 11 AM, which is a really long and convenient window. The hotel's location is excellent for transportation, very close to the subway station – just a few minutes' walk. There are also several parking lots available at the hotel, which is a great plus. Highly recommended!

★★★★★ Excellent stay at Holiday Inn Express Dandong City Center We had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Express Dandong City Center by IHG. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel extremely welcome and comfortable. Their hospitality, warmth, and willingness to assist made our experience truly memorable. The location of the hotel is excellent — very convenient for exploring Dandong’s main attractions, including the Yalu River area, and there are many shops and restaurants nearby. The surroundings are lively and pleasant, making it easy to explore the city on foot. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The facilities were excellent, and the hotel provided everything we needed for a relaxing family stay. The breakfast was also very good, with a nice variety of options. As a foreign guest, I especially appreciated the effort made to provide a comfortable dining experience. We were travelling with our family, including a young child, and the team was very considerate and helpful throughout our stay. Their friendly attitude and attention to detail gave us a very homely feeling. Overall, this was one of the most pleasant hotel experiences we have had in China. A big thank you to the entire team of Holiday Inn Express Dandong City Center for making our visit to Dandong so enjoyable. We will definitely choose this hotel again on our future visits and highly recommend it to other travellers. Thank you for your excellent hospitality!

I stayed in Dalian for three nights and chose Qing Song Ya Ju, which is right by Xinghai Square. It's only a few dozen meters from the sea, and Xinghai Square is a 10-minute walk away. The location is absolutely fantastic! 👍 I stayed in the Yuzhou room, and the view from the window overlooked the main section of Xinghai Bridge. When the lights came on, the scenery was incredibly beautiful. If you want a great view of the bridge, this is the room to pick. The hotel has been open for two years, and I was surprised by how spacious and clean the room was. As a picky Virgo, I can confirm the cleanliness was top-notch; my fellow clean-freak friends can book with confidence! 🥳 Finally, I have to mention the concierge. He was super thoughtful; seeing that we were hot and tired after exploring all evening, he even brought us ice-cold beers 🍻 – so nice!

⭐ The bath towels and regular towels are individually sealed, which is a huge relief for germaphobes. ⭐ The air conditioning panel is right by the bedside table, so you don't have to get out of bed at night to adjust the temperature. The glow-in-the-dark labels are clear. ⭐ The room was clean and comfortable, and there wasn't much of that new hotel smell. ⭐ The breakfast had a great variety, and the dishes changed daily, even the fruit was different every day. My stay was absolutely fantastic! The service and attention to detail were truly top-notch!! Great place, will definitely stay again | Much better experience than an Atour hotel.
