The location is absolutely unbeatable, right inside Harbour City, on Canton Road. The lobby connects directly to Lane Crawford, and the hotel's second floor has direct access to Harbour City, which is incredibly convenient. It's about a 5-minute walk to the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Terminal. The Tsim Sha Tsui/Austin MTR stations are roughly a 10-minute walk away.
This is a well-established, older 5-star hotel. The standard rooms are very spacious for Hong Kong, the bedding is comfortable, and the soundproofing is good. The facilities are more traditional, but they don't feel old or run down; it has the timeless quality of a classic hotel that has stood the test of time.
The hotel also boasts a top-tier Italian restaurant with stunning harbor views. Not only can you enjoy authentic cuisine, but you can also take in the spectacular Victoria Harbour night scenery.

For this location, a price of around 400 is definitely worth it, and it's certainly better than a guesthouse. The room is a bit small, but it's very clean, and there's no old hotel smell like some mentioned. The air conditioning runs 24/7, which is very comfortable. I recommend a nearby place called ”Milk Ice Room”; the food is delicious and affordable (50 RMB per person is enough for a meal, and you get free milk tea with a main course). I really didn't like this hotel. There were hairs in the room, everything was old and worn out. The bathroom was incredibly small. It was impossible to sit on the toilet; my knees hit the bathtub. The room didn't quite live up to expectations, so don't set your hopes too high. For a room that costs around HKD 1200 a night, there wasn't even a bottle of mineral water. I can understand that major hardware changes can't happen overnight, but the lack of basic amenities and services is hard to grasp. The hotel was renovated in 2017, but the room, including every corner of the bathroom, was spotless. The entire hotel is exceptionally well-maintained and thoughtfully run.

Upon arriving at the lobby in the afternoon, there were many stored suitcases filling the corners. The lobby staff were very welcoming and enthusiastic, opening the doors for guests. Lobby suggestion: Adding fresh flowers would make it feel more vibrant.

The hotel is located near Tin Hau Station Exit A2 (the subway sign says A1, which is a bit roundabout). Walk straight across a small street for about 3-5 minutes, and you'll reach it easily. Even with a large 26-inch suitcase, it was no trouble. Along the street, there are various dessert shops and restaurants.
**Facilities**
Although the hotel was renovated in 2017, the facilities are very well-maintained.
There are night lights by the bedside in the room.
The bath towels are new, and the toiletries have a pleasant botanical scent.
The room has two direct USB charging ports, so you don't even need to bring a UK adapter – it's more than enough.

I really think this place offers great value for money. It wasn't much more expensive than hotels near the Shenzhen border, and the room was much bigger than I expected and looked quite proper.
Before coming here, I had actually lowered my expectations, wondering what kind of hotel you could get for just over 300 (excluding tax) during the summer holiday. After all, the night before, I paid over 200 near the Shenzhen border for a room with a tiny window, no soundproofing, and even mold. So, I was genuinely surprised when I arrived! It's a standalone hotel building with a spacious lobby on the ground floor. The staff were also very friendly. I'm from a remote part of Chongqing and only speak Mandarin, not Cantonese, but I didn't feel discriminated against at all.
They have a free shuttle service, which I didn't know about at first. You can take the shuttle from Tsuen Wan MTR station (exit E) – the pickup point is next to Metroplaza on the opposite side. You don't need anything to board the shuttle to the hotel, but you do need to book in advance with the front desk for the return trip. One minor drawback is that check-in isn't until 3 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM the next day, which is different from mainland China, so you'll need to plan your time accordingly.FromTRY 3,236

It's been at least 10 years since I last stayed here. I remember staying in room 7025 in Block 2 last time, and this time I'm in room 3104 in Block 1. The hotel's hygiene is acceptable, but it's clearly showing its age, and the rooms are quite dated, likely due to insufficient maintenance. It's like Cathay Pacific flights – even planes that are nearly 30 years old are meticulously maintained, and the passenger experience is even more comfortable than on planes that are only about 10 years old. The principle is the same!
The room type I originally booked required showering in the bathtub. I only saw complaints in the reviews after booking. Later, after communicating with the hotel through Trip.com, they said I'd need to pay an additional 113 to switch to a room with a shower cubicle in the same area. Trip.com's service was truly exceptional; they proactively covered the difference, even though it wasn't their fault. It's really the hotel's problem for not providing clear information about their room facilities and being so ungenerous as to charge extra for a shower in a room in the same area. It was clearly the hotel's issue, yet they wouldn't allow a refund. Seriously, how many hotels nowadays still require you to stand in a bathtub to shower?
Another thing I have to complain about is that to this day, Hong Kong hotels still treat Mandarin-speaking and Cantonese-speaking guests differently at the front desk. I asked for a higher floor, and the person next to me speaking Cantonese was assigned to the 41st floor in Block 1, while I, speaking Mandarin, got a floor 10 floors lower 😂. Then, several guests who checked in after me went up in the same elevator to the 40th and 38th floors. I was ahead of them and clearly requested a higher floor, yet I got the lowest. Traveling from Xiamen to Hong Kong, it seems that due to environmental protection policies, hotels in Hong Kong no longer provide disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste. This hotel is conveniently located next to Prince Edward MTR Station, making transportation easy. There are also many shops nearby, which is great for shopping. The room was larger than expected; we, a family of three, chose a king-sized bed (1.8m), and the movable sofa could be used as a barrier next to it. Overall, it was quiet, but when actually sleeping, the air conditioner seemed a bit loud – something that could be improved. There were earplugs in the room, but I wasn't sure if they were complimentary since it wasn't specified, so I didn't use them. A universal adapter was provided. It would be even better if disposable slippers were offered for children. Check-in is after 3 PM; before that, you can only store your luggage. It would be nice if early check-in or a later check-out around 2 or 3 PM were possible. The hotel staff were very friendly and patient, and could communicate in Mandarin. Revisiting an old favorite. This time, I came back to relive memories from ten years ago when I stayed at this hotel for New Year's. Back then, I didn't book a sea view room, but I was captivated by a woman's singing in the lobby on the ground floor. This time, I specifically booked a deluxe sea view room for two nights, and I'm grateful to the hotel for providing a beautiful room. The room was a bit old-fashioned, and there were only two power outlets. Luckily, I brought a couple of multi-port adapters, otherwise charging my phone and camera would have been a hassle. No bottled water was provided in the room, only tap water. While it's eco-friendly, it's not very convenient and detracted from the experience.
The hotel's surroundings are excellent. There are many bars and restaurants downstairs, and a Wellcome Supermarket and 7-Eleven nearby. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, making it very convenient to get to Central and the West Kowloon Cultural Corridor. Just a heads-up, the MTR station is quite a distance, so it might not be convenient if you have a lot of luggage.
I'd like to praise the front desk service. On my first night, I was on the 4th floor, and the 3rd floor was the swimming pool. The room was incredibly damp. When I woke up in the morning, I had two bites, probably from some insect. After I reported it to the front desk, they immediately moved me to a room on the 16th floor for the remaining two days! I stayed at this hotel over 10 years ago. Although it has been renovated, the service is noticeably worse than before. Here are a few points:
1. At 3 PM check-in, no rooms were available. We only got our room key at 4:30 PM.
2. Upon entering the room, we found a used band-aid from the previous guests still on the floor (which was quite unpleasant) and not cleaned up.
3. Loud music from a club downstairs went on until past midnight, making it impossible for us and our child to get any rest. Even though it was a weekend and there might have been events, it was simply unacceptable.
4. There's also something that made us very angry, and although it's not directly related to the hotel, I want to share it so future guests can be aware. The taxis outside the hotel – we might have encountered an extreme driver, not necessarily representative of most, but I'm just sharing my personal experience. We took a taxi from the hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui to Sogo in Causeway Bay. Without informing us, the driver took a detour over the cross-harbor bridge. I only found this out later when the price seemed wrong. He didn't take the usual tunnel, and as a result, the fare was HKD 193. Taking the tunnel usually costs around HKD 65, which we had paid before. So, I want to remind future guests to be careful when taking taxis.
However, there was one thing we were satisfied with: the housekeeping staff on our floor had surprisingly good service. They always smiled, greeted us, and said hello.FromTRY 7,839

This was a pleasant stay. We were traveling with a child, and I had specifically requested a high floor in my Ctrip booking notes. To my surprise, the hotel really paid attention to it! The hotel has 30 floors in total, and they put us on the 29th floor, which was absolutely perfect with fantastic views.
**Cleanliness:** The room had a separate wet and dry area, and the toilet was smart and very clean.
**Transportation:** The hotel is located right above Wanhua Railway Station. You just turn a corner from the ticketing hall of Wanhua Station and you're there. It's also only a 5-minute walk to Longshan Temple MRT Station.
**Local Food:** Around Longshan Temple MRT Station, there's an Oyster Vermicelli shop (diagonally opposite the 50 Lan milk tea shop) that you absolutely *must* try. Room was big enough for 2 person and 2 small luggage, there’s even a sofa for me to lie down.
There was a small onsen like tub which was amazing although it was slightly stained with mold around the grouting (I used hot water to clean it then used the tub). Bed was comfortable!
Gym was alright, there’s a smith machine, weights, treadmills. Not very big and was actually slightly warm as it was summer when I went.
Service was fairly good. I sprained my ankle and they were very happy to provide ice, towel and pillow.
Plus points that we really like was they had free snack bar beside their hotel! Can try many different sweets, biscuits and jelly.
There’s a big carrefour nearby too!

The biggest highlight of our Taiwan trip, hands down. The Grand Hotel is truly one of the best hotels in Greater China.
As soon as we got out of the taxi, someone was there to greet us and help with our luggage, allowing us to go straight to check-in. I booked a room in the side wing. After taking the shuttle bus to the side wing, the only minor drawback was having to walk up a few steps, but it wasn't a big issue. From the room, you could see Songshan Airport and the Taipei city skyline. If you went up to the public areas on higher floors, you could catch the Taipei sunset.
The public areas were outstanding. Taking photos late at night, there was hardly anyone around. Walking through the grand and majestic lobby felt like an coronation.
Room size was also quite generous, and the hygiene was impeccable. The linens were spotlessly clean.
The service was very comprehensive and attentive, though perhaps lacking a bit of warmth.
The biggest issue, however, was transportation. For budget travelers, relying on the MRT is key, and getting from The Grand Hotel to the MRT station required waiting for a shuttle bus. However, there were also taxis available right outside the hotel, and Taipei's taxi fares are quite reasonable, so it was acceptable overall. All in all, an excellent experience.FromTRY 4,994

The service needs improvement. We checked in around 7 or 8 PM and had to wait until 3 AM to get a room at the end of a hallway. When we called to ask if we could change rooms, the staff said no because the other rooms weren't cleaned yet. They also said if we wanted to change, we'd have to wait longer, and it would only be a low-floor connecting room. So, we went down to the front desk to discuss it, and suddenly, a high-floor room was available.
My family went down to dinner first and told the restaurant staff that not everyone was there yet. But when I went down, they said they didn't know where my family was sitting and told me to find them myself.

We had a wonderful stay at Green World Zhonghua and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Taipei.
The hotel's location is excellent. It is directly opposite Ximending, making it easy to explore the shopping streets, restaurants, and local attractions on foot. There is also a 7-Eleven conveniently located downstairs, and the entrance to the MRT underground station is just outside the hotel, making it very convenient to travel around Taipei.
The room was comfortable and met all our needs. What impressed us the most was the exceptional service from the hotel staff. Our flight was delayed until midnight, and they kindly helped us extend our room until late evening, which made a huge difference to our travel experience. Their willingness to accommodate our request and their friendly, helpful attitude were truly appreciated.

The staff are attentive and friendly. As an older hotel, the facilities are a bit dated, and the room decor has a classic, slightly old-fashioned feel, but all of this is perfectly acceptable. The only downside was that the room number sign on my floor (I think it was the 6th floor, facing Ren'ai Road) seemed to be incorrect, directing me in the wrong direction from the elevator. I walked all the way to the end of the hall and couldn't find my room, so I had to turn back and eventually found it in the opposite direction. It was a bit frustrating. I booked the room with city view, it's big and the bath tub is especially nice as I looked forward to a hot tub soak after my daytime activities.
The laundry room has 4 washing machines and 4 dryers. The capacity of them is huge, I did my washing with 3 days of clothes for 2 pax and there's still room for more clothes.

The initial room was noisy and I could hear construction noise from the site opposite the hotel despite being up on the 18th floor. Soundproofing is rather poor as I can occasionally hear people's conversations as they walk along the corridor.
The lounge was a nice touch though the food offerings especially during the afternoon tea and breakfast service could be better. Service in the club lounge was generally good but could be slower during busy times.

This is our second time staying in Stat Beauty Hotel for their Luxury Double Room. This time we stay for 4 nights and the location of the hotel is near the MTR station and the night market of Shillin Night Market. It will about 15 - 20 minutes from the hotel walk to the MTR station or take 20 - 26 minutes from the hotel walk to Shillin Night Market.
The room we booked is big enough for us it two persons that stay and the room is nice but the hotel always provide one pillow for one person . If I sleep on the bed with only one pillow then I can see the rooftop and not the TV. I suggest to the hotel to provide two pillows for each person to stay without our request, so that he can watch the TV easily.
The bathroom is big and come with a big bathtub. The water pressure is now t very strong but just good enough for shower.
I would like to make a bit complaint to the old lady for the the housekeeping. She only come to change towels, refill toiletries and thru rubbish only and never do cleaning and arrange the bedding. So on my third day O have towels request to the front seat to tell her to clean our toilet.
Overall we are happy to stay in Star Beauty Hotel and would like to recommend this hotel to other travellers. I will stay again if I come to Taipei in the future.FromTRY 2,113

Due to a change in our plans, we booked one additional night and asked whether we could simply remain in the same room without checking out. The front desk insisted that we had to pay th difference to stay in the same room. While I understand that hotels have policies regarding different room catergories, (at the end we still paid, not we unwilling to pay) the staff’s attitude was very rigid and unfriendly, with little effort made to explain the situation or offer an alternative.
I stayed at this hotel last year and was given a complimentary upgrade to the same room type.
