This is an older hotel. I chose it because the rooms are slightly larger than average, and we were traveling with a child, so we needed an extra bed. As for service, there's nothing for us mainlanders. I didn't see a single smile during my entire stay. They're all smiles and Chinese etiquette for foreigners, though. We were checking out at the same time as some foreigners, and the concierge helped them with their luggage to their car, but didn't even acknowledge us, let alone offer help.
I initially booked for one night, and the next day I went to the front desk to extend my stay. I asked if an upgrade was possible. An impatient female receptionist told me the hotel was fully booked. I pointed out that I could see rooms available for booking on Ctrip, and asked why she was lying. She then said I had already booked a deluxe room, so there was no upgrade available.
Posters celebrating the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong's return were plastered all over the streets of Hong Kong. It's been 29 years, and I've visited over ten times, yet they still show no goodwill towards mainlanders, only resistance and disgust. I really want to ask, where does your sense of superiority come from? Is the money spent by mainlanders not real money? Was my room rate significantly cheaper? I doubt they'd give me such a discount, so why the lack of friendly treatment?
After a few days, my child complained that his chest was itchy. I saw some small red rashes. Later, my husband said his back was itchy, and I saw similar small red rashes. My husband suggested it might be heat rash. Our family didn't want to argue with the hotel and ruin our mood over this; we were too tired and hot, so we didn't pursue it further.
Hong Kong was scorching hot these past few days, hot enough to make you dizzy. Due to this unusual weather, I'd advise against visiting at this time of year.
The location is right by Harbour City, making it the closest hotel to the Star Ferry. Besides its good location, it has no other advantages. However, this geographical location, being in Tsim Sha Tsui with too many tourists and very close to the West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station (under 40 HKD by taxi), means the shopping environment and service attitude are not as good as on Hong Kong Island. Next time, I will definitely choose to stay and shop/eat on Hong Kong Island. I will not choose this hotel again. I wasn't even in the mood to take a single photo to showcase the hotel. The transportation here is incredibly convenient. With Mong Kok East MTR station and a bus terminal nearby, getting around is a breeze. Don't hesitate when you see the stairs next to Mido Cafe – that's the hotel entrance. Besides the abundance of dining options in the moko mall downstairs, there are also plenty of eateries and dessert shops on Argyle Street. The first 500 meters of the walk there are covered by an indoor walkway, so you're protected from sun and rain. The room size is generous; we could easily open two suitcases. Our room even had a separate shower with excellent water pressure. The pool is right downstairs and looks very inviting and chill. We stayed for 6 nights and were very satisfied overall, but on the last night, I'm not sure if it was the towel or the sheets, but I ended up with 5 or 6 incredibly itchy red bumps on my feet (I was the only one of the three of us who got bitten, so I suspect it was the towel). 1. As an established five-star hotel, I was pleased to find that the shower wasn't the kind where you have to stand in a bathtub, which I often encountered during previous stays in Hong Kong.
2. The bathroom has a direct drinking water tap, and the water tastes good, so I could easily refill my mineral water bottles.
3. There's a luggage rack in the room, which saves you from bending over to access your suitcase.
4. Hooks on both sides of the bathroom door are very convenient, and the toilet is a smart bidet model.

The room was spotless and tidy, very satisfied.
## Environment
1. The location is excellent, near the Tsim Sha Tsui East MTR Exit P2 and close to the Shangri-La Hotel. I feel this hotel offers better value for money. From my room, 719, I could look down and see the dining area on the 3rd floor, which was quite interesting and cleverly designed.
2. It's also close to the Hong Kong Museum of History, Hong Kong Science Museum, and Victoria Harbour.
## Service
The service was excellent. The doorman promptly opened the door, the front desk attendant spoke fluent Mandarin, the concierge was enthusiastic, and the ladies maintaining the restrooms in the 3rd-floor common area were all very kind.
## Overall

This time, I was given a room on the top floor. The air conditioning was quite noisy, and the soundproofing wasn't great. If you're a light sleeper, I'd recommend bringing earplugs. They don't provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, or combs, so you'll need to bring your own. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from Jordan Station Exit D. You can also easily walk to Donki and Victoria Harbour from the hotel. For its price, the hotel's location, service, and facilities are all excellent. I stayed in a newly renovated twin room on the 16th floor this time, which had one double bed and one single bed. The location is incredibly convenient, just a few minutes' walk from the MTR station. The room size is definitely decent for Hong Kong; don't compare it to mainland hotel standards or luxury hotels in Hong Kong. Compared to other hotels in the same price range, it's absolutely great.
I arrived around 11 PM. Due to the hotel's eco-friendly policy, toiletries aren't provided for free, but you can purchase them at the front desk. A small reusable pouch containing a two-person set costs HKD 20, which I found both cost-effective and convenient.
The biggest highlight, which I must recommend and is perfect for tourists, is that my room with two beds had three bedside tables. Each table had power sockets and USB ports, and one even had wireless charging – incredibly convenient! The quality of the slippers provided in the room was also good. The large window offered a bright street view, and the desk, over a meter long, was great for placing belongings.
I'm very grateful to the lovely lady at the front desk who upgraded me to this newly renovated room when she saw I arrived late at 11 PM. The cleaning lady, Chang Dandan, was also fantastic; she promptly helped me with any requests. Both were very warm and had excellent attitudes.
Overall, this was a great stay. I actually read some negative reviews about cleanliness and drainage issues, but I didn't encounter any. The water pressure and drainage were both excellent, and the room was clean and hygienic. They provided two alcohol wipes for disinfection, the bedding and towels were dry, and the air conditioning worked perfectly with no noise even on low fan speed. As a very light sleeper, I slept really well. I won't upload photos of my room since I messed it up, but the public areas were clean and bright, as you can see from a couple of photos I took. Also, I recommend Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ on the first floor of the Miramar Shopping Centre opposite the hotel – it's delicious!FromTHB 3,893

This hotel is just right for solo travelers. It's super easy to get to – just exit A1 from Sai Ying Pun Station, turn right, and it's a short walk away.
The hotel and rooms felt a bit dated.
My only complaints are the long wait for the elevator in the morning and the non-functioning refrigerator in the room; these definitely need improvement.
Aside from that, everything else was fine. The front desk staff were very helpful, and check-in was quick. Plus, there was no deposit required, which made everything very smooth.
The location is excellent for sightseeing. It's conveniently located with easy access to Central and Tsim Sha Tsui via subway and bus, making it perfect for a few days of touring. There are also plenty of restaurants, a 7-Eleven, and a Wellcome supermarket right near the hotel.

Basically, only kids can handle swimming under the intense sun at that time. Another thing I found pretty useless was the kettle. Our stay at The Emperor Hotel Causeway Bay in Hong Kong was absolutely fantastic! As soon as my daughter walked in, she said she loved it. I immediately started taking photos and posted on social media about how wonderful and elegant this hotel is. We were on the 29th floor, and the large window offered stunning views of Victoria Harbour. The ceilings are high, and they provided toothbrushes, soap, coffee, and tea. On the second day, we even received a complimentary bottle of mineral water. The front desk also offers free tea, coffee, and newspapers. This hotel completely shattered my preconceptions about Hong Kong accommodation being expensive and small. The Tin Hau MTR station is super convenient for getting around. On our last day, when we stored our luggage, they even gave us two Ferrero Rocher chocolates as we left – so polite and incredibly thoughtful! My daughter and I both agreed that we'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Hong Kong! This was my second trip from Guangdong, and I chose this hotel specifically because it has metered parking right outside. However, the parking is free from 8 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Saturday, and from 10 AM to 10 PM on Sundays and public holidays. Image two shows the view from the hotel's sea-view room. The shipping lane can get quite busy at times, and it's fascinating to watch cargo ships constantly moving in and out.

Everyone, avoid this hotel! This is my first time leaving a negative review for a hotel.
1. The service attitude was absolutely terrible. From the moment I checked in, I said ”Hello...” but the staff didn't even bother to respond with a ”Hello” back and had a sour face the entire time. In the service industry, there should be a basic level of politeness!
2. Check-out is at 11 AM, and check-in is at 3 PM. This is an absolutely outrageous, one-sided policy. I didn't notice these times when I booked. Isn't anyone going to address this?
3. The hotel's so-called ”free shuttle” requires booking a day in advance. There was no mention of this when I checked in. You have to ask about everything yourself! It's completely hit-or-miss.
4. The young staff at the concierge desk were also unhelpful and made things difficult for guests. The next day, they wouldn't let me bring my luggage on the bus, claiming it was too big. It was just a small carry-on suitcase, how big could it be?!
I said, ”Yesterday, I confirmed with the concierge staff that I could bring it on the bus.” Then the tall, slender concierge kept questioning, ”Which staff member? What's their name? Who told you that?” Am I supposed to remember the name of every staff member just to take the bus?
5. We booked a standard room, and the bedside table in the middle was as shown in the picture – make of it what you will. The soundproofing was also poor.
All in all, everyone should seriously reconsider staying at this hotel! Afterwards, I searched for negative reviews about this hotel to see if anyone else had the same terrible experience. It turns out the news about this hotel is truly shocking.FromTHB 2,575

The room was very comfortable and spacious, with a view of Victoria Harbour from the window. The cleanliness was excellent; the staff always asked if we wanted our room cleaned daily. Although the facilities are a bit old, they feel sturdy and reliable, making for a reassuring stay.
The breakfast variety didn't change much, but there were plenty of options, including Indian, Japanese, and Halal dishes. There was even a dedicated breakfast area for kids, and their pancakes were absolutely delicious! The juice was freshly squeezed, and the fruit station consistently offered pineapple, watermelon, apples, bananas, and cantaloupe.
The lobby staff were amazing. We arrived at the hotel at 8 AM, and luckily, a room was ready, so they immediately checked us in. As a family traveling with seniors and children, we were incredibly grateful for this. The lobby staff also proactively gave out little gifts to the children—a small Shangri-La themed bag containing crayons, stickers, and a fan for coloring. They even gave us two toy cars. We really appreciate it!
On the downside, I did get some bites, possibly from dust mites or fleas, leaving red bumps all over my legs. I understand that the seaside location can be humid, and with the windows closed, ventilation is limited. Even the disinfectant spray I brought didn't help. This has been my go-to hotel in Hong Kong for years. It's located inside The Mira Place shopping mall on Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, less than a 10-minute walk to Harbour City, making it super convenient for dining, shopping, and entertainment.
The hotel entrance is a bit hidden, but as soon as you approach, someone will open the door for you. Even at 3 PM, you might not get a clean room right away, which shows how popular it is. The only thing missing is a bit of warmth in the service. The rooms come with complimentary bottled water, though they're a bit stingy with tissues. Aside from the pillows being just okay, everything else is quite comfortable.

It is one of the iconic hotels in Taipei with magnificent structure and views. However on the day of our check in, there was a kindergarteners graduation party. With 100+ children running and screaming in the lobby area makes me feel like I am in a fish market not an upscale hotel. If the Libby manager or Conceirge can step in to control the crowd, it would have been a better experience for me . The buffet restaurant has extensive selection of food and they all tasted great.
The musicians at the lobby performed well during my stay and it wasa pleasure sitting in the lobby to enjoy the music.
The secret pathways are pleasant surprises. But the tours are not for people with walking issues since participants needs to walk down 70+ steps to get a full view of the secret pathways.

Great location with unbeatable convenience. The hotel is right across from Taipei Main Station, making it very easy to access MRT, HSR, and TRA.
It’s also surrounded by shops and F&B options. I especially enjoyed the nearby old food stalls selling egg pancake, delicious toast bread, soya bean milk, and milk tea. Ximending Night Market is walkable from the hotel, which is a big plus.
Even at 3am, I could still grab snacks because FamilyMart is open 24 hours everywhere.

Unfortunately, two full days of our stay were declared typhoon holidays, so we couldn’t go out to explore the city. Our stay at Green World Zhonghua was a mix of positives and disappointments.
The biggest advantage of this hotel is its excellent location. It is right in the heart of Ximending, with the Ximending Shopping District just across the street. There is also a 7-Eleven right beside the hotel, which is very convenient. If you’re arriving by MRT, the hotel entrance is located beside Exit X5, and you can also easily access it from Exits X4 and 5. It is definitely one of the best locations for exploring Taipei.
Unfortunately, our experience with the hotel itself was disappointing. Some of the staff were not very friendly and were extremely strict with the check-in policy. Check-in is exactly at 3:00 PM, and if you want to check in earlier, they charge TWD 300 per hour. We had just completed a 24-hour journey, arrived early in the morning with six pieces of luggage, and had to wait almost six hours. We completely understand that hotels have check-in policies, but considering how exhausted we were, a little flexibility or hospitality would have been appreciated.
What made it even more frustrating was that when we finally entered our room, it wasn’t clean. We found stains on the pillowcase and the bathroom was not properly cleaned. (Photos attached.) This was unacceptable, especially after waiting so long.
We booked a Standard Room for a seven-night stay, knowing it would be small, but we did not expect the air conditioning to stop working after only two days. Two maintenance staff attempted to repair it but were unable to fix the problem. We ended up using only a fan for the remainder of our stay. The hotel also had no water for one evening, which added to the inconvenience.
When we raised our concerns about the cleanliness and the air conditioning, the response from the staff was disappointing. Instead of offering a proper solution, they simply suggested that we cancel our reservation and move to another hotel. With our luggage and after everything we had already gone through, that was not a realistic option.
The breakfast was another letdown. The weekday menu was almost exactly the same every day, while weekends only had two or three different dishes. Considering the hotel’s location, I would actually recommend skipping the breakfast and eating outside instead. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés, and local food stalls nearby that offer much better food at reasonable prices.
Overall, I would rate this hotel mainly for its outstanding location. If convenience is your top priority, it’s hard to beat. However, based on our experience with the cleanliness, staff attitude, unresolved air conditioning issue, water outage, and repetitive breakfast, I don’t think we would choose to stay here again.FromTHB 1,455

The concierge on Basement 1 has a selection of free snacks (crackers, biscuits etc.) and cup noodles you can just swipe for the day's itinerary. Daily breakfast offers congee, rice, and about 3-4 entrees, and a coffee machine (espresso or americano). The deluxe triple room we booked was spacious as was the bathroom. Room details were average and new-ish. The heavy curtains concealed old steel windows. Beddings and towels were changed every other day or so but could be also changed upon request. Staff was helpful and could communicate well in English. We appreciated its nearness to multiple 7-11s, Watsons, and bakeries. 1. Misleading Entrance Signage
Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable.
2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance
When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside?
3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior
After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues.
As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight.
We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of:
- Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance
- Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival
- Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior
We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future.

The service was pretty good; I didn't touch my luggage after getting out of the car. However, I didn't have many needs or encounter much service to begin with. There were a lot of Japanese staff members... both times I checked in and out, they were Japanese women, and I struggled to understand their Chinese. Maybe they should stick to speaking Japanese... The room was a bit old but perfectly fine, standard for a five-star hotel. Two large brass keys offered the ultimate vintage experience. They're still practicing 'eco-friendliness' by shifting costs to guests, providing a sanitary bag which was genuinely inconvenient since I was on my period. The bathtub wasn't great; at 1.72m, I just barely fit in, it wasn't spacious at all, and it only had one faucet, no adjustment. No slippers or disposables, but I loved the scent of the three bath products. The welcome fruit was a bit of a joke; the welcome pastries, however, surprised me at first, coming in such a large wooden box. But then I thought, how is this different from being handed a random pile of wedding candies? I couldn't eat it all anyway. It was annoying that there wasn't a three-pin socket by the bed to charge my phone's dual Type-C ports; only the desk had two, one 110V and one 220V. Directly opposite the window was just a regular vintage residential building, but there was a distant view of Taipei 101, which was a pleasant surprise.
The public areas exuded old money charm... The underground Regent Galleria is a high-end mall... I'd never seen one inside a hotel before, quite an experience. There were also many dessert shops. For me, zero appeal, zero shopping capability. The design of the restaurant or banquet hall near the lobby was a bit poor, with many steps and no accessibility facilities, still very vintage. There was a piano and cello performance in the pool at the bottom of the building in the evening.
P12-15 The good reviews for this place really come down to nostalgia and food, I guess. I hadn't booked breakfast, but after seeing so many positive reviews, I quickly added it. It was $968 per person. Open from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM, with the last seating at 9:30 AM. I went at 9 AM, and it was mostly full, so it's clearly very popular. The variety was indeed rich, with many ********* specialties, and the taste was decent, though not amazing.
