The hotel isn't far from the highway and has an underground parking garage, which is great for those traveling by car. I personally think it's an upgraded version of a budget hotel; the room isn't huge, but the facilities are good and quite new. Breakfast is abundant and delicious, and the restaurant service is warm and attentive. The front desk service was okay, but they didn't proactively upgrade our room as some reviews mentioned, nor did we receive a small gift upon check-out.

2026, Taiyuan, here I come! Checking in to a landmark hotel in Taiyuan, with German quality you can always trust. High-floor scenic room, 55 square meters, with large floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views. Right next to Tianmei Xintiandi, a one-stop shop for dining, entertainment, and shopping – incredibly convenient! Even better with my Trip.com membership.

The service attitude was exceptionally good. When a line started forming for check-in, more staff immediately came to the front desk to assist. They also offer late check-out. The room service was impeccable, and they provided a crib. There were complimentary welcome fruits. The breakfast selection was quite rich, including knife-cut noodles and freshly ground coffee at the counter. The overall environment was very good, fitting the description of an older, established five-star hotel. I requested a non-smoking room in advance, and indeed, there was no smoke smell. The bathroom drain didn't have any unpleasant odors either; generally, there were no strange smells. The window could be opened, which at least prevented stuffiness. In late May, after 8 PM, the air conditioning could be turned on for cooling. The shower water pressure was excellent, which was a big plus. The family deluxe suite had two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a connecting door, which was the main reason I chose this hotel. The room size was ample. The only downside was that the mattress was too soft. The hairdryer was a Dyson model, and the sink was large enough for three people to use simultaneously. The soundproofing was good, and overall, I was very satisfied. The cleanliness was also up to standard. I had read reviews about staff helping with luggage, and traveling by car with an infant, I was really hoping for some assistance. However, no one was at the parking lot. Perhaps this service isn't available unless there's special weather. Parking was very convenient though.

I visited Taiyuan during the Chinese New Year and stayed at the Zhanghe Hotel. The location and service were excellent. I booked the hotel on the second day of the ***** New Year, and the price was very reasonable – only 360 yuan per night including breakfast for two. The room had a separate shower and toilet, which was very convenient. They also provided disposable toiletries such as towels, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. Breakfast was served until 10 am; there was still food available around 8 am, but by 9 am, there wasn't much left, probably due to the large number of guests during the Spring Festival. Free parking was available, and I parked in the parking lot of the Jin Merchant Museum, which was very convenient. I also visited the museum. The hotel is just a few hundred meters from Liuxiang, Gulou Street, and the food street – perfect for shopping and eating! However, it was very crowded during the holiday; all the surrounding restaurants had long queues.

The staff were so so friendly and super nice!!! Told them it was our honeymoon and there was a handwritten note with fruits and snacks waiting for us on the table. They didn't have to, but they did ☺️ when we left, we were rushing for the train and didn't have time to eat breakfast. The staff were so concerned we were skipping breakfast she quickly packed some food for us to go and even ran after us to pass us cutlery because she forgot to pack some. Would recommend staying here 10/10!

I was traveling alone for business and chose this hotel. The service was indeed as good as other reviews mentioned. The front desk staff was very enthusiastic, and the room was very clean with comfortable bedding. As a foodie, I was delighted to find plenty of great food options nearby, including a morning market, a night market, and a mall. I highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again on my next business trip.

Nestled within the scenic area, at the end of a hundred-meter-long alley, this courtyard-style hotel offers a tranquil escape amidst the bustling surroundings. Its classic Chinese design beautifully reflects traditional Northern Chinese architecture, perfectly complementing the ancient city's charm. The rooms are fully equipped, even featuring a mini-fridge stocked with complimentary bottled water, Sprite, Coke, bananas, apples, tea, coffee, paper cups, and disposable face towels. A tea set is also provided, adding a cozy, home-like touch. The courtyard is adorned with lush greenery, seating, and picturesque landscaping, ideal for sunbathing. At night, it transforms with brilliant lights, creating a unique and enchanting ambiance. It's about a 10-minute walk from the ancient city's North Gate parking lot, with dedicated staff available to assist with luggage. Surrounded by numerous shops, it offers incredible convenience for shopping, dining, and sightseeing. The staff are warm, friendly, and provide excellent service. Overall, it's a fantastic guesthouse within the ancient city.

The receptionist, Rui Rui, was very friendly and helpful. The place was also very clean and conveniently located.

This hotel has a classic, old-school charm, and it's good in the traditional sense. Our high-floor room offered excellent views (we might have gotten lucky and were assigned a room overlooking the ancient city). It was well-equipped, despite the slightly outdated design (e.g., fewer bedside outlets and a manual, classic-style toilet), spacious, and clean. The housekeeping was very thoughtful; they replenished amenities based on our usage and provided a fruit plate, pear soup, and a kind note daily. The breakfast buffet was satisfying with a wide selection and comfortable ambiance. The à la carte Chinese restaurant, in particular, left a deep impression with its unexpectedly high quality and great value for money (the dishes shown are all small portions, so please excuse my photo collection, which looks like a restaurant review, haha). All in all, a great review!

The hotel has a great location, close to the high-speed train station. The front desk staff are all very welcoming; they greeted us as soon as we walked in and even helped us with the elevator. The room was clean, and complimentary mini-bar drinks were restocked daily. For two nights, we felt like having rice, so we dined at the hotel's Chinese restaurant. The dishes were reasonably priced, and the rice was delicious.
