I was a bit worried when I booked the hotel because I saw it was quite old. But from the moment I arrived and started checking in at the lobby, I experienced the high-quality service of an established star-rated hotel – it was truly excellent! Whether it was the front desk staff or the shuttle drivers, everyone was incredibly nice. Service staff I encountered everywhere offered warm, smiling service, and whenever I called for a shuttle, the driver would always say, 'Take your time, no rush, don't worry…' Even though the rooms are a bit old, the overall hotel environment is very tropical and jungle-like. Thanks to this five-star service, the hotel is really popular; I noticed so many people at breakfast… So, the hotel experience as a whole is still fantastic. It would probably be even more comfortable and relaxing to soak in the hot springs when the weather is cooler. I'd definitely come back again! 👍

Let me just say upfront, I'm not a shill, but out of all the hotels I've stayed at, Mission Hills Haikou's service definitely ranks among the top. Every single staff member has an exceptionally great attitude; almost everyone proactively greets you. The lobby staff were particularly excellent – they arranged breakfast and kids' club access for my child and even upgraded our room. Both the hotel's soft and hard amenities are top-notch, and the breakfast is incredibly rich and definitely deserves praise. I'll definitely stay at Mission Hills Haikou again next time I'm in Haikou.

This hotel offers a very comfortable night view, and the lobby's design and layout are quite distinctive. They have both a family activity introduction area and a business center, making it perfect for those traveling with kids who also need to work. The rooms are a bit dated, but it's not a major issue – it's an old brand hotel that's been around for 21 years, which is impressive! The staff member Connie provided warm and meticulous service, ensuring our trip was well-organized. Very satisfied! 👍

The hotel boasts a tranquil and serene environment 👍. The lawn is thick and clean, free of branches or dead leaves, and is constantly being tidied up. There's an outdoor pool and a kids' water park, both with very clean water. The hot spring pools, built into the mountainside (like the Baicao Pool and natural sulfuric mineral hot springs) are fantastic 👍 – it's incredibly relaxing to soak in them after a tiring day. The kids' play area is a bit small, better suited for younger children, but it offers a rich variety of activities; older kids can enjoy crafts and other options. The specialty Qingbuliang for breakfast is better than takeout 👍, and dishes like sour noodles and Hainanese fried noodles are also very distinctive. Even after staying for several days, I didn't get tired of the food. I'll definitely be back to stay again.

Both my room and public areas of the hotel were attractive and spacious.  It has a lovely location on the river with beautiful grounds lushly planted, a fantastic swimming pool that’s a bit separated from the young children’s pool and is quieter.  The hot spring spas were wonderful, especially the first one where hundreds of fish nibble away at the dead skin on your feet and extremities.  All of the staff were friendly and helpful.  One of the managers even noticed that I was a guest on my birthday and prepared a cake for me.  I hope that I can return one day.  Both restaurants offered good food and service.

We booked a family twin room. You can get an unobstructed view of the sea from the balcony, which was lovely, and the air quality was great too. Although the hotel facilities are a bit dated, everything works perfectly fine. The food at the Chinese restaurant was delicious, but breakfast was a bit disappointing. However, the Western pastries were quite good.

AI recently stayed at Nanshan Temple Muyin, Qinghuandu Rainforest View Hotel, and overall, it was a very peaceful and enjoyable experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, with all amenities in excellent condition, which made my stay truly relaxing. The service was excellent. The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable. A great example of this was when I tried to work out at the gym, which is located outdoors and had flooring that wasn’t ideal. The staff noticed me exercising and promptly offered an exercise mat so that my clothes would not get dirty. This thoughtful gesture left a positive impression. The hotel facilities were generally good, and the serene environment around the property added to the experience. The food was okay—not bad, but nothing particularly outstanding. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall comfort of my stay. In summary, Nanshan Temple Muyin, Qinghuandu Rainforest View Hotel is a great choice for those looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent service and comfortable rooms, even if the dining experience could be improved slightly.

We went in mid June, rainy season so it was low season. For the price that we paid for the 2 bedroom villa, which included breakfast (at another hotel) entry to ocean park, The Five Country Hot Spring City, and personal shuttle bus service within the island. I think it was well worth it. Service was prompt and courteous, although communication was all through WeChat and in Chinese. Convenient but knowing sone Chinese would be better to utilize services . We stayed in the Japanese style villa, and it was tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable. We especially loved having our own dry and steam sauna, and our own personal outdoor hot spring bath! Real hot spring mineral water! I recommend this place especially for people who love hot spring baths and want to avoid busy touristy hotels. Cleanliness: overall quite clean. Location: walking distance to ocean park and hot spring city, so quite convenient. 5-10 minutes shuttle ride to most places within the island. Service: knowing someone is available 24 hours was nice. They were eager to help with whatever we needed. The main concierge during the day was more friendly, competent and experienced. Amenities: everything we needed was provided. There was a Dyson hair dryer, fridge etc. If you are picky about your shampoo soaps etc, you may want to bring your own. But they do provide them.

Not great value for money, and the overall experience was pretty mediocre. The fact that the island was reclaimed from the sea, and the various buildings on it, are quite astonishing, but it's a real shame how many areas are neglected and falling into disuse. With over 5,000 rooms, the hotel had a high occupancy rate during the holiday, making the lobby feel like a chaotic market, packed with people and incredibly noisy. There were significant delays for check-in, and breakfast was practically a free-for-all, with extremely poor food quality. Room cleanliness was terrible; there were scratches all over the walls, and the bed runner was damaged and still had dried food crumbs from the previous guest on it – makes you wonder how long it hadn't been washed. The room itself was tiny, and when I asked for an extra pillow, I was told they didn't have any. We were a family of one adult and two children, both around six years old, but were told we had to purchase an additional child's breakfast, as two small children couldn't count as one adult. For nearly 600 RMB a night, with nothing included, it really wasn't worth it.

I can only say this area is suitable for day trips, not long-term stays. This hotel is great for kids to play in the water. For the past two days, it seems like there haven't been many guests, so the environment is well-maintained. There are a few large swimming pools, but no beach here. It's a good spot to bring children to play in the water. If you're a solo female traveler and plan on being out all day, I wouldn't recommend staying here – it's a bit out of the way. Perhaps it's just because I visited during the off-season and there were fewer people; I'm not sure what it's like during peak season. The room facilities are still very good, and the public pools are decent. For food delivery, the minimum order is usually around 100 [currency unit]. To get to more famous restaurants by taxi takes about 10 to 20 minutes. At least I got to see a beautiful sunset!
