I had a wonderful vacation, the room was so unique and the staff was extremely kind and helpful. I could really recommend this place to anyone who wants to have an incredible experience while traveling or just wants to get away for a bit. Souq Al Wakra Hotel has definitely left an impression on me that I won't forget anytime soon. Tip: it’s nice booking here if it’s your bday or anniversary they’ll prepare a surprise for you. In conclusion, I’ll definitely will come back. Thank you to all the staff who made my stay extra special.

First of all I have to say the resort itself is lovely. It's a beautiful setting. Very well done and the villa and pool were clean and well maintained. The staff were great, although communication was sometimes difficult. However........ We had visited for one night only with our 2 grown up children, so 4 adults. We had villa no.1 The Amiri Villa with 3 bedrooms and a private pool. Like a previous review said it's not actually private as there is a dunes right out back and not only can people see into the pool area but if the curtains are not closed they can see into the bedrooms too. That aside our main complaints are:- The restaurant was heaving with flies. They were absolutely everywhere and there was nothing in place to stop them. They did have incense burning to no avail all that made was smoke horrible while we were trying to eat our lunch on arrival. The room was just full of smoke. It was kind of gross. The lunch was completely tasteless and mine was served with a garnish that I had said I was was allergic to when placing the order! Despite being told on the phone when we had booked there was no need to book activities we could do that with no problem on arrival. We were told we couldn't do a couple of things until the next day when we would be leaving. So we didn't get to do them. We decided to have dinner in our villa as we weren't prepared to battle the flies again. The dinner was again average. We were also told a particular dish was not spicy but it was so spicy I could not eat it. We had noticed the noise of the dune buggies out back all day but hadn't paid much attention until bedtime. The noise at times was unbearable even after midnight. We couldn't get to sleep until at least 12:30am. These are are not ones that belong to the resort as the dune obviously is publicly accessible. Then we were woken up around 4:15am by workers outside obviously going off to their duties for the day. Their living quarters are right across from the villas and obviously due to the fact that you are in tents noise travels. This went on and on as each group left until at 5am we decided we'd had enough and just got up! Overall a very disappointing trip. We won't come back. It's a shame as our children had been visiting for the Christmas holiday from the US and we have guests come stay with us in Doha on and off so we had planned to take overnight trips here with them going forward. We will look for somewhere else now. On another note and not a criticism of the resort but for anyone with back problems to bear in mind. I have recently had a back injury causing a bulging disk and the last 20 minutes of the journey is off road. Its was dreadful on the way in to the point where I walked with my daughter for the last half a mile. But I drove out and it was more bearable but I did need to get out and walk again part of the way. I know if you do not have an SUV the hotel will pick you up for this part of the journey. I’ve been staying at The Time Rako Hotel on and off for the last two years, I’ve always had a great experience with everything and everyone. The restaurant food was excellent quality and good value with professional service. The hotel had a well equipped gym and decent swimming pool. The reception staff were always professional and helpful to myself and colleagues (Indian). My last stay at the hotel was for a 6 month business trip! I’ve been in the oil and gas industry for 20 years and I can say with hand on heart this hotel is in my top 3 hotel’s I’ve stayed in. Well done team I’ll look forward to my next visit later on in the year. Thank you.

My stay in this hotel was very wonderful. This hotel is one of the best hotels I have visited in the region. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is varied and delicious. Also, the location of the hotel is very special. All the tourist sites are close by. I want to thank Mrs. Raton for her good treatment and beautiful manners 🥰

The service is very slow. Should be improved first. should be humble Welcoming guests who come to use our services and serving with our whole heart. The important thing is that the service time should be faster. Most importantly, you should not ask customers about personal matters. You should have a lot of manners. Because it's the first checkpoint of your hotel.

This nice hotel in Doha offers decent accommodations for a budget stay. While it lacks luxurious amenities, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Good option for those looking to explore the city without breaking the bank.

It is very nice hotel, surrounded with restaurants, value for money, staffs are friendly, especially I would like to thank Sharfaraz khan, he been very helpful for comfortable stay. Happy stay ...... :)

The price is on the high side

We had an amazing time here, it was 5 stars! It was immaculately clean and designed. I was at peace because there was a Quran and prayer mat in our room, there's a Qatari vibe to the hotel; architecture, smell (smells gorgeous), staff. The staff are very attentive and theres a quick service. Breakfast was perfect, we had dinner and in room dining service which was perfect and special. We used the gym ( excellent exercise machines) , rooftop pool was perfect with private shower rooms. The spa was amazing, we had a couples hammam. The only thing I'm not sure about is, wether guests can use the sauna and steam rooms as they are in the spa, we got to use it because we were clients there. We also loved the segregation in the spa. It was perfect, we wish we stayed longer, it felt like home, we will visit again in sha Allah. We booked 2 hotels; after we moved to St Regis and missed Steinberger so much, out of both hotels we loved Steinberger and wanted to return. Steinberger scored way better than a well-known hotel resort. Thankyou for taking care of us.

I enjoyed my recent 4 night stay in the Movenpick. Its really well located only a few minutes walk from the National Museum and the metroline. You can walk to Souq Waqif on about 15 minutes, the National Museum in about 5. The metro is excellent and both the Souq and Museum stations are easily walkable. The room was really spacious, clean, modern and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and the room had all mod cons - no complaints whatsoever. The pool area is small but very nice. It gets the sun all morning until about lunchtime when the shadow moves around. It has a nice steamroom and gym too. The breakfast is superb, if there is an option to include breakfast with your room it's well worth paying it - omlettes, cereals, fruits, breads, meats...I was so well fed I didn't need lunch! The bar is a bit smoky for my liking, and way too dark to sit and read. But it has lots of screens showing the sports so that's good. Going before 10 and drinks are 20% cheaper. But really, I just couldn't stick the smoke. Its illegal in my country to smoke in bars so I'd forgotten how utterly disgusting it is. But it's obviously legal here so the bar are likely doing nothing wrong. Luckily though this is my review, I think the smoke is horrible and ruins the bar for everyone else so there we go. The hotel staff were really helpful, especially the guys that run the health centre and the lovely folks in the restaurant at breakfast. Oh yes, if you walk out the front entrance and follow the walls around to your left you'll find an excellent 24 hour service station with all the snacks, toothpaste, over the counter meds etc you'll need. Great to grab a cold drink after a walk in the heat! I'd definitely stay here again though, no hesitation.
