Rather slow service in the restaurant and bar, understaffed. Bath/shower could use a better showerhead

Well located in a quiet area, we arrived at the hotel at 9 in the morning. They left us the room at the same time. Comfortable bed. What I liked least was the dinner, it could be better.

It is close to the center, about 10 minutes walk. The pool is large and very well maintained. Spacious and clean room. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired compared to other paradors, especially taking into account its price, they should improve that service (coffee capsules that pour everything except coffee, they do not replace the plates, neither the breeds nor the bowls, they do not there were bottles of water...).

A modern parador, spotlessly clean with very friendly, helpful staff. We stayed here for 11 days ( in fact as I write this we are still here, leaving in two days time). It's SO peaceful and relaxing, very quiet and hushed. The grounds are good and there's a pool but it was too cold for me, and others who tried it gasped in shock when first entering the cold water. No matter, the position and mountain views are amazing, breakfast is superb too. However you need to boil the small kettle if you'd like a cup of tea at breakfast. Coffee is much more the Spanish way of life. Rooms are excellent, large, with a strong shower and nice bathroom. The parador is approx 5-10 mins from centre of town ...which is amazing. Lots to see. Great places to eat (try the bullring, arte de tapas and recuerdos bodega tapas near the parador. You can eat at the parador although it's a little more pricey than in town but if breakfast is anything to go by, the food will be amazing We came without a car and used local buses and trains to get around, visited Cordoba, and the local tour company Tour Group del Dolmenes, in the old square, run by Deborah (it's the only place in town you can buy postcards) and we went on two tours, the Dolmenes and el Torcal. Don't miss either! Antequera is a wonderful place and I hope that if you're reading this you enjoy it as much as I have.

We did not know what to expect, but we’re delighted with the high quality service and facilities at a reasonable price.

Beautiful and peaceful property! We were there with an AHI tour group mostly from Colorado State University for a week in mid-May. After days of touring we would end up on the outdoor patio for drinks, appetizers and conversation for hours looking out on the Andalusian countryside. We want to recognize one waiter in particular, Pablo for his ever-present smile despite juggling so many tourists. The guest rooms are spacious and lovely- great closets and storage! Breakfast was included and we enjoyed hearty eating every morning. The pool is beautiful but was quite chilly even in May so a quick dip was all you could handle. The interior of the parador is beautiful and calming- we loved everything about the Parador de Antequera!

Having just returned from a week in Spain8th-15th May and staying at the Parador de Antequera I can honestly say that the meals especially the evening meal was awful. Portions were that small that my friends and myself were having yo spend €75 at lunch time to ensure we wouldn’t be hungry as I have said above portions were VERY VERY small and no choices if you had dietary restrictions god help you. Breakfast was help your self and some mornings looked like it was left over from the day before. Having spent over £5000 on this holiday with my friends I was expecting a far higher standard from a 4* hotel, at lunch times we should only have been spending in the region of €30-€40 so as you can imagine this had a huge impact on funds and holiday all the people staying at this hotel on our tour (Newmarket) were totally fed up and angry with the food staff , and the way we were treated. There was no flexibility at meal times on the morning we were leaving our tour guide asked if we could go to breakfast at 7.30am to be told no why was that as it’s self service and would have had no impact on the running of the restaurant other guests were in there having breakfast and we were getting collected at 8.20am for airport so many things need addressing at this hotel. In the restaurant other tables had a far better service than we did (Newmarket)and the food was of a different standard we were never asked if everything was OK or did we need anything . Newmarket has had a lot of money for this holiday and when we did ask for answers re our questions we were told there’s another involved My Agent never heard of them !! The week before the other tour had same concerns surely a well know company like Newmarket should have addressed these problems and to be told these concerns hadn’t reached the company in the UK awful. But on the positive side my room was spotless cleaned every day clean towels daily and shower room spotless but overall standards are not the 4* that this hotel has been given shame what did make this holiday for myself and friends are the people who we had are meals with amazing people also our tour guide (Jude) and the wonderful days out on our tour.

I have had one of the worst dining experiences from any hotel I have stayed at for many, many years, (and we have travelled all over the world), and it has completely spoilt my entire holiday and cost us extra money which had not forecasted for. The Hotel was the Parador de Antequera, four star with an allegedly good solid reputation. I booked with Newmarket Holidays. Before I booked I made it quite clear that we were vegetarian and I was a diabetic. I was told that the menu had choices so it would not be a problem for my dietary requirements. The first evening meal on 1st May, 2024 was the day we arrived. We went down to dinner,(our allotted time was 8.30 pm) to be given a a bowl of gazpacho, flour based a thickening agent I would have thought which was truly revolting and not something a diabetic would choose to eat due to the high carbohydrate volume. The menu only had this a starter and I explained I was a diabetic but the waiting staff did not understand what I was explaining so I tried eating a little but it was not very nice. Then the main course was placed in front of me.... PORK ! Yet again i had to leave the table to explain I don't eat meat as we are vegetarian. This took some doing because i do not speak Spanish and most of the staff don't speak English so there was a bit of a confrontation between myself and the staff. because I was going to end up with no evening meal. I ended up being given a plain bowl of pasta. Disgusting for what is allegedly a 4 Star hotel don't you think? I refused it. These episodes disrupted my fellow diners on the table I was sitting on and, as I explained to Debbie on the phone this morning when I rang to complain, ended up alienating my sister and myself towards the end of our holiday as there were conversations about being given food that I can eat nearly every evening in the restaurant. Obviously they didn't pay all of that money to listen to that every evening. They actually spoke very little to us for the duration of the holiday, despite sharing a table with them. But with no Spanish speaking representative for your company, What was I expected to do? This happened nearly every evening and on the second evening meal i was offered tuna, to a vegetarian?? We started paying out for having dinner at lunchtime at the places we visited but at 12 -16 Euros for a nourishing meal, this started to eat away at our spring money, Sadly I have no receipts as they were mislaid before I returned to the UK. I gave the restaurant another try on 6th May. Oxtail stew with no alternative. The same old conversation took place and I was told by a very rude waitress who told me to sit down when i politely asked what I would be eating and that there was no vegetarian food in the kitchen and she offered me an omelette, I had to accept as I was very hungry but an omlette and nothing else in a so called 4 star restaurant?? Really ??? I was unable to eat any of the deserts as a lot of them had masses of sy

We have skidded in here on the final day of a three week tour of southern Spain. We have here found an excellent oasis of calm in which to reflect over our past 20 days and the adventures we have had. We love the character of the hotel being very contemporary and not old fashioned at all. Our room is of a good size and the bed huge. All decorated too in a modern style this is ideal for the seasoned traveller. The location of the hotel is so convenient for the old town and we were fortunate to be able to check in early and walk down for a mid afternoon bite to eat. It takes no time at all to walk into town and we were lucky to be able to view the local bullring and other attractions. With ample parking and what looks like an amazing menu as well as a well stocked bar, which we did partake of, this hotel is ideal. It too is only 60k from the airport so for us will be very convenient in the morning. We certainly will return.
