We stayed in the Premier Inn Ayr A77/Racecourse Hotel twice on our way and to Edinburgh for a rugby match. The hotel is about an hour from Cairnryan Port (Stena) and its a perfect place to stop on arrival from and before departing to the Island of Ireland. The rooms are what you expect from a Premier Inn - incredibly comfortable beds, spotlessly clean rooms, with a nice modern feel. The food was excellent and the range of food for breakfast was great. And the hotel is also good value. The star of this hotel, though, is Laura at reception. She is very friendly and welcoming and extremely helpful. She is also very efficient. We've been staying in Premier Inns for many years and Laura is undoubtedly one of the nicest people we have had dealings with.

I have stayed at the hotel fairly regularly and find it to be comfortable and good value. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and the food, particularly dinner is excellent. Great value.

Total front desk staff (2) are rude and inattentive……..presumably stressed through being overworked. As they act as receptionists and waitresses. Arrived for seating at 6.30pm only to be told that as we hadn’t pre-booked there would be a half hour wait. This was despite the restaurant being half empty. The management should be ashamed of itself. Our room (no 1) is reasonably clean (apart from a layer of dust on the kettle) but extremely pokey. Nowhere near the standard we have come to expect. Do not recommend.

Stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel was up to the excellent premier inn standards. In particular, the food was great but the one thing that stood out above everything was the fantastic, friendly, helpful attitude of the staff. They were brilliant, really make the experience an absolute joy. Thanks to all of them

Great new Premier Inn, Clean, Comfortable, plenty of parking, friendly staff, good food & a bar that stayed open late to enable us to get a drink or two after attending a show. Evening Meal & breakfast were both a decent quality & fresh. Not sure if all rooms are the same but I had a decent walk in shower which I feel is an improvement for most people.

We booked this hotel for its location near to a local wedding venue and trusted the brand so we booked thinking it would be a safe option . We cannot fault the staff friendly and welcoming . The room was clean but very cold on arrival and when returning from our evening out . We were woken at 8am by workmen with jackhammers and whackers we had no option other than to get up early and leave . We had a terrible sleep as a result and left feeling tired and annoyed that the hotel failed to mention this work would be carried out during our stay . Further to This upon returning home I emailed premier inn regarding this and I’ve never received any response back . A poor stay overall

Wow! What an improvement. Last time I vowed never to return but on hearing good reviews decided to give it a try. The hotel has been upgraded and was well worth the money. Very clean, comfy bed and friendly staff. I would definitely stay again . The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Value for money accommodation in good location. Friendly ish staff but disappointed that sofa bed was not made up ready. We had to request bedding which was then just brought to the door. Evening meal was a solid 7/10 and value for money. Would stay again.

Booked 6day stay with 2 rooms Rooms very clean and modern friendly staff .breakdast was very disappointing some items were not available on 2 occasions such as hash browns .mushrooms grilled tomatoes and very watery scrambled eggs but still expected to pay full price staff did not advise on any shortages when ordering
