Scandic Byparken

Bergen City Center
PROS: - The staff members were all really kind and helpful. - Breakfast offered a lot of choices and never disappointed. - The hotel position is among the bests you can get. It's close to everything there is to visit. CONS: - Although their booking page says they have a restaurant, the restaurant is actually close. They do not open for dinner. - Their booking page also says that they provide a gym. The gym is not in the hotel but 3 minutes on foot away. - The hotel only had a public wifi (not really the safest thing...) And of course it was incredibly slow. - My room wasn't always vacuumed when the cleaning lady ”cleaned” my room nor my blanket changed. - I wasn't given a sign to let the cleaning lady know whether I was still in my room or not. - The shower wasn't a shower-box or a shower with a platform. it was just a lower area (one stare lower from the floor). The shower's curtain was too short resulting systematically in flooding the bathroom (almost slipped one day!) - They only give you two towels: one for the sink to wash your hands and one as a bathrobe for the shower. I would have really appreciated a third one to contain the water while showering.
Scandic Flesland Airport

The room is very bright and warm. Breakfast is available at 4 o'clock, it is suitable for people who catch a flight. The location is also very close to the airport, just a few minutes away. Very quiet, no noise from the airport. The air conditioner has vibration noise.

The room is larger than expected. There is no TV refrigerator, but there is a hair dryer, towels and bath supplies. Very clean, the bed is a bit too soft, friends who don't like soft beds should consider it. The location of the hotel takes about half an hour to walk to the city center. My friends and I like walking, so it’s not a problem at all, but if you don’t like walking and don’t want to spend money on rides all the time, then you should think carefully!
Comfort Hotel Bergen Airport

The big plus of this hotel is that it is a 4-5 minute walk from the airport. Because of that easy access to public transportation into the city. The room was quiet and I didn't notice airport noise. Room was clean and modern, but very small, spartan, and with few amenities. Beds were narrow with very soft mattresses. The breakfast was very good with a wide selection of items, though not exceptional. There were only two elevators in a hotel with four floors and hundreds of rooms! As others have noted, the staff is very young and seemed inexperienced, but friendly enough. All in all, like most airport hotels, you get little value for the price. The goal is a quick in and out with a decent breakfast for travelers, but not much more.

Bergen City Center
The first thing to say is to praise the staff; both by email in advance, and in person, they were super helpful and friendly. Inside, the building is undergoing renovation. Whilst the corridors are still a work in progress, our apartment had been recently redecorated and was nicely decorated. There are nice modern touches, too; plenty of sockets, a smart TV, good WiFi. The location is good, and there's washer/drier facilities for use (seemingly for free, but the welcome sheet suggested there may be a cost). However, things quickly fall apart. Presented with apparently endless, unmarked light switches, we can only conclude the electrics were designed by a machiavellian evil genius. Highlights include a switch that does nothing, and the bathroom light you can only turn on by turning on all the lights in the entire apartment. The kitchen appliances are tired, and clearly haven't been replaced along with the rest of the internal. The kettle lid didn't shut, and the coffee machine had no lid meaning it wouldn't brew without being jerry rigged open with a spoon. The kitchen fan, even when 'off' is incredibly loud, and as the bedroom and kitchen all join onto one another, it will definitely impact a light sleeper. Much of this would be easily rectifiable and would have made the stay much better.
