Marina Hotel am Starnberger See

Bernried am Starnberger See|1.06km from Bernried
The hotel management seems to think that enjoying the priviledge of a nice location directly at the lake exempt them to do their job correctly. I've already travelled the world, but I never made such a bad experience in a luxuary hotel, and this in my very own country. To summarize: errors in room booking, lamentable service at restaurant, dishonesty of hotel and restaurant management while booking. A scandal for a venue that claims a certain level of quality. In the detail: we booked in advance one of their special rooms for a special occasion. When we arrived at 5pm, we learned it has been given to others. Nobody informed us previously neither per phone nor or at the latest at the check-in, that the reservation has been changed. We ended up in a room without lake view on the road side, with barely no excuses. The only one proposed alternative would have been to throw the other people out of the room and we would have had to wait until the room is cleaned up. If these people who stayed in our room read this and recognize themselves, they can be happy that we have been complacent. We also booked a table for 2 on the terrace of the restaurant for a romantic evening. We have been promised to have a table outside by nice wheather. It was nice wheather. Because of a big group (60 people at least, maybe 80) on the terrace, which was supposed to have finished dinner when we came late, but of course wasn't, and because the restaurant decided not to open the balcon above the terrace, where more place outside would have been possible, we ended up eating inside, hearing the noise of the people, the music, the speach at the microphone and the techno music of the disco club alongside. We waited 1 hour to be served. The meal was really nothing special. Special dietary wishes have been rejected because the kitchen was overworked. The chef restaurant himself - the same one who took our reservation and promised the table outside - and a lot of waiters didn't wear their face masks correctly. At breakfast we waited 1 hour for a Capuccino and gluten free bread and had to ask many times to get orange juice. All waiters and cooks were completely understaffed and overworked, no one wore his face mask correctly. We learnt afterwards that the hotel was very excitied about the visit of the Riva Club group, made possible through the mitigation of lockdown measures. But according to their staff capacity and if they would have been honest, they shouldn't have accepted more reservations, and even less from people who aimed to celebrate a special event at their place, which they knew about. The Hotel Schlossgut Oberambach who hosted a family event at this date, explicitely not recommended us to visit them as they understood we aimed to have intimacy. We know now where we will be going next time! And we definitevely know where we will never go back again. And even explictely advise against.
