Casa Escondida Bed & Breakfast

Great getaway from the world. Beautiful setting with wonderful birds all around. Ernesto is a very caring owner and his breakfast is so delicious. His staff could not have been more friendly. Pinon and Juniper rooms were perfect and comfortable. The small town of Chimayo is very historic with the Santuario de Chimayo and the famous restaurant, Rancho de Chimayo. Many weavers in the area with beautiful woven rugs, clothing in southwest styles. Its wonderful to be able to support small family businesses and we hope to return.

Wonderful, quiet, charming. I enjoyed my stay tremendously. Ernesto, the host was warm and accommodating. The food was delicious and beautiful. My room was spotless, cozy, and comfortable, nicelyappointed . The bed was perfect- very comfortable. There were bedside lamps and convenient electrical outlets.

We were delighted with our experience at Casa Escondida. Ernesto and team are all customer focused. The bed and room were comfortable and quiet. The location is key to many areas of interest. Each and every breakfast was a delight and fulfilled taste buds. The approach to a time you want breakfast allows for individually made hot breakfast ( not line food that has been on heat for an hour). We met engaging other individuals while our stay. The last night we had a fire in the share living room which was delightful. I walked the labyrinth made by Ernesto wife. I have walked many and it was a quiet walk.

Everything I expected it to be. A quiet getaway nestled up on a small hill. The linens were so soft, the pillows so fluffy. Morning coffee watching the sunrise is beautiful. All my senses were fulfilled. A much needed life/mind /soul recharge.. You have to experience this. I recommend the Luminaria suite or the Vista suite.

I went for a weekend getaway and I got the greatest experience ever. The breakfast was awesome. Oh the coffee was incredibly delicious. I would recommend it to everyone We woke up to snow outside. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated.

Most enjoyable stay! Ernesto and his team are so very hospitable. We found it to be most relaxing and peaceful. We plan on returning someday! Room was clean and comfortable. Ernesto cooked delicious breakfast for us each morning. Easy to see he enjoys hosting his guests.

We stayed 5 nights at this delightful B&B in Chimayo and found it to be the best location for day trips to Bandelier, Abique, Ole Caliente spa, Taos Pueblo etc. and just 35 min to Sante Fe. Our host, Ernesto was warm & welcoming. We started everyday with his delicious and creative breakfasts. And returned to wonderful homey setting, outdoor seating and comfy beds each evening. Two terrific restaurants within 15 min.

Where to begin? The first time we met Kim and Barbi at Casa Escondida to discuss our elopement plans we knew we had found the perfect place. The thoughtfulness, focus, and attention to detail during that first meeting was impressive. Throughout the planning process, the experience continued to be amazing. The elopement itself was magical. Ernesto created a touching ceremony specific to us and our story. The time, thought, and care that he put into the ceremony was exceptional. We wanted a Chris**as theme and the staff kept the holiday decorations and tree up for our special day. The photoshoots were fun and the pictures were beautiful. Barbi and Ashley were our witnesses, photographers, reception planners, and so much more. Both of them did an absolutely incredible job to ensure our day was memorable. The cake table was gorgeous and the cake was delicious. We appreciate all the time and attention they gave to us and our special day. Ernesto and his wife Renee own Casa Escondida. They make you feel at home from the moment you meet them. Their son definitely makes it a family affair. The day of our elopement he was busy shoveling snow and making sure everything looked perfect outside. Barbi is an artistic and culinary genius. We enjoyed our breakfast each day. We were honored that she shared family traditions and stories with us. Ashley is kind and helpful. She makes sure guests feel at home and have everything that they need. Nancy keeps the rooms and common areas spotless. Each room is appointed with southwest decor and is immaculate. The exceptional people at Casa Escondida exceeded our expectations. They are now members of our family. We highly recommend a getaway to Casa Escondida. There are no televisions in the rooms, so you truly get the chance to relax, unwind, and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. You will feel like you are at home, yet be pampered like you are royalty. The host, Ernesto was very helpful and was great on keeping us informed of what to do around the area and what to expect for our stay. Barbie, the chef was amazing and the breakfast was wonderful. You are out in the country, but there is a good restaurant close by that Ernesto recommended. There is no TV, but the rooms are very well decorated, as is the main house. Do download the directions as it can be a bit confusing to get there. The room with the fireplace was great in the cold weather.
