My husband and I visited the Sol Costa Atlantis Hotel for a week in April 2024. We were very much looking forward to our stay at this particular hotel as having viewed it online, we thought it looked rather nice. Our arrival at the hotel was quite late due to having experienced a flight delay therefore, we were feeling quite tired, however, we found that the reception staff were not very welcoming or friendly, they just went through the process of getting us checked in, there was no ‘Welcome to our hotel, have you stayed with us before’, nothing of that nature, no welcome drink was offered. Once checked in, we went to our room which considering it was a 4* hotel, we were surprised at how basic the room was. We unpacked and tried to open the Safe to store our valuables. We were unable to open it so being tired, we decided to deal with everything the following morning. We were booked on a half board basis so, we got up the next morning to go for breakfast and both said how incredibly warm the room was and, because of the room temperature neither of us had slept well. We checked the air conditioning but were unable to deal with whatever the issue was. We then went for breakfast which, unfortunately, wasn’t great. We absolutely appreciate that with buffet food, due to it sitting, it can get cold quickly but, having said that, there were a lot of people staying at the hotel if the dining room was anything to go by which meant that the turnover of food from the buffet was quick so, I wouldn’t have expected the food to be as as cold as it was. Also, the toasters which were in the dining room, there just wasn’t enough of them and then, to make matters worse, when you put a slice of bread through the toaster you had to repeat the process 2 to 3 times as the bread wasn’t toasting!! Then we had the coffee machines of which you had to queue for a considerable length of time to get a coffee as again, for the amount of people, there weren’t enough coffee machines. After breakfast we went to reception to report the air conditioning issue. The chap with whom we spoke said he would get a maintenance person to fix whatever the issue was. We informed him we were out for the day so the technician could go into our room at any stage. We also asked about the Safe in our room to which the chap on reception advised that we would have to pay to use the safe. I was appalled to hear this saying to him ‘That’s daft, surely if there’s a safe in the room, it forms part of the room, it’s a bit like saying, there’s a wardrobe but you can’t hang your clothes in it until you pay to use it’. My view is if you’ve paid for a room, then you should have access to everything in that room especially the safe as it doesn’t cost the hotel any extra to allow guests access to the safe in their room!! After our day out, we came back to our room only to find that the air conditioning hadn’t been fixed much to our disappoin**ent and to make matters worse, when we reported it
Having stayed here several times before, we came back for Christmas. The staff could not faulted and the room was great. Clean, comfortable, and generally relatively quiet at night, apart from two noisy families, in rooms either side of us for our two final nights. We regretted not bringing earplugs, being kept awake by their loud conversations until well past midnight. The food was not as good as we had remembered it. We found out this time there was almost zero choice of hot food for vegetarians. So we lived mainly on salads throughout our stay. Some hot vegetable dishes like chickpeas actually contain meat. There were no signs as to exactly what was suitable for vegans/vegetarians, so we had to take potluck. We then made the mistake of booking one all-inclusive a la carte meal and found that most of that particular menu was not suitable for people who do not eat fish or meat. The goats cheese starter was delicious, but fatty and very rich. The main course choice was limited to pizza or pasta. Unfortunately, one of us was ill with vomiting within a few hours after that particular meal. We were told there was a nasty virus circulating, and that would have been responsible. A number of days later, the other person suffered several days of projectile vomiting and diarrhoea, apparently again due to the virus circulating within the hotel. Neither of us could eat much for about a week, so we lived on vegetable broth. It was not a great experience, considering we had paid for all-inclusive! We missed several meals because we were feeling so poorly and did not want to infect other guests and staff. Generally speaking, we tried to avoid the huge queues outside the restaurant at breakfast time and again during the evening. The final straw was having booked a specific timed sitting for Christmas dinner and queueing for half an hour outside the restaurant, only to be told it was full and that we had to return later. The choice of food on that day was particularly disappointing. We ended up having to make do the only vegetarian option of couscous with pumpkin in blue cheese sauce, which wasn't that great for a Christmas Day gala dinner. As we had to go in so late, most of the other options had already disappeared, hence our limited choice of just these two items.
Very successful stay at the hotel. Rooms very comfortable Service at the highest level Breakfast the best we have eaten so far in hotels, everything fresh, very good quality and beautifully served. Lunch in the hotel restaurant also good. Spa beautiful, massage good - although it lasted shorter than the purchased package, hairdresser also good. Subtracts a star for the bill at the end. I wasn't going to check, but I was thrown by an extra massage service in the spa that I didn't have. I do not know if it was done on purpose to pay more, but in a hotel like this it should not happen, especially since the signed bills did not include such a massage. Additional time unnecessarily spent at the reception. Distaste remains.

Would not recommend to anyone, on the second day after arriving back from the hotel pool we were shocked to realise that the cleaner had taken all our money it had been taken out of my zipped jumper pocket hung up in the wardrobe completely out of sight the hotel were useless in helping us stating that there was nothing they could do unless they had 3-5 reports in a short space of time, the manager said that we were robbed however the balcony door was locked and the catch on making it impossible to get in also the hotel manager stated that “it was probably the cleaner” stay well away
Highly recommend, this hotel is very clean.. breakfast was included and the pool ontop of the roof was pretty small but I used the public pool, the reception staff helped me whenever and gave me directions and information, it's very central and I would stay again. I have no complaints what so ever... only thing I can suggest is having air con which the fan wasn't the best but still didn't effect my stay. Very lovely hotel with lovely friendly staff. Went solo and room was really small but I didn't mind
This is a really good hotel. The breakfast is fantastic, and we took evening meals as well, when we realised what a bargain they were. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a short walk from the town, an easy flat-ish walk, and near to a lot of interesting places. A lot of Germans choose to stay in this hotel for the winter months, which we saw as a good sign - they expect a lot from holidays. We found them very pleasant and friendly.

I stayed in this hotel for 10 days in mid September with my siblings, my parents, my partner and my toddler. Upon arriving late in the evening we were very grateful to see how spacious, clean and comfortable the rooms are. We slept really well. The one thing to note is that all the beds are singles pushed together which can be an issue if you like to cuddle with your partner to sleep as the beds kept moving apart, but they were very comfortable and we slept well. The rooms are all air conditioned which is very welcome on stickier days. We stayed in a room with a sea view and it was really wonderful to wake up to the view every morning. In the evening there is live music at the bars outside which can be a little loud - if you like to sleep early I recommend ear plugs - however all the music stops by 11pm and we enjoyed many an evening sitting on the balcony and enjoying the music below. I think it's worth noting that if you do have any issues the hotel is very quick to respond. On our first night we noted that the lock on the door did not work, and the seal on the door of the shower was missing. Within half an hour the hotel maintenance had come up to the room to rectify the issues, and they did so quickly. The hotel has WiFi which can be a little patchy at certain times of the day when it is lost used but is otherwise reliable. There is a TV in the rooms with a good selection of channels - I will note that the English channels didn't work and did need reprogramming but it wasn't an issue as as we didn't have time to watch TV anyway! There is a mini fridge in each room which is very handy. There is a charge of €2 a day for personal use which really isn't bad at all. The selection of food available at the hotel is really wonderful. Every night there is a different theme. My favourites were Spanish and canarian nights. But there is so much on offer you should find something for even the pickiest of eaters. Every member of staff working in the restaurant was so friendly and lovely. As there were 7 of us travelling together they reserved a table for us each morning and evening so that we didn't have trouble to eat together. I will however note that one particular member of staff didn't appear to want to accommodate this - a woman with dark hair, glasses and waistcoat and green tie (different levels of staff wore slightly different uniform) for some reason whenever this particular lady was on staff she would remove our reservation. Initially we thought this was a mistake but it happened like clockwork on her shifts and never happened when she wasn't in. I'm not sure why she took issue with our group. She was also quite rude to me one day when I was trying to go to our usual table (which had been dressed for breakfast already) to retrieve the high chair for my son. I tried to explain to her several times I was just going to get the chair but she didn't seem to understand and was insisting on directing me to another area of the restaurant. The re

Excellent
Honestly one of the best hotels I've stayed in. Beds - comfortable Rooms - tidy View - amazing Location - perfect for me (bit of a walk from the main town with quite a few steps but doable) Pools - clean and well maintained Food - there's something for everyone You need to hire your towels for the sun loungers etc but its only €10 each and at the end of your stay you get it back when you return them. The bars and restaurants only take card no cash. Definitely worth it!!
GGuest UserJust been back again for the third year, and we’ll definitely be back next year. We love this hotel. Amazing value for money, great pool area and pool bar, we love the hot tubs. We’re always sad to say goodbye to the friendly lizards. The rooms are great, air conditioned, good soundproofing and black out blinds. All of the staff are great. We never want to go home on our last day.
GGuest UserApartment is very comfortable room, with balcony and table, indoor table, all kitchen comfort. Family is done almost every day. Very clean, very friendly staff, including at the reception.
We were next to the restaurant on the floor, so a little noise in the evening, but next to enjoy the animations. The residence is well placed to walk in the city, car parked outside at a maximum of 5 minutes in adjacent streets.
the staff explains how to go there ...
Very happy with our stay.
If you like going for a walk from your hotel, then forget about this one!!! On top of a very steep hill with steep road going down and when you get down you are on a very narrow busy road with mostly no pavements and nothing nice to look at. When you want to get back up to the hotel, it's very hard work. Just don't bother. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the town centre, on weekdays, very limited on Saturdays and none on Sundays or holidays. On a good day, the last shuttle is about 5.45 back to the hotel. Then you are stuck unless you want to use taxis to and from the town. Puerto del la Cruz centre is about 3 miles down hill to the harbour. You will see it all in a couple hours!!! This area is very cloudy and about 10 degrees cooler than the other side of the island, like Los Christianos and Los Americas which are much more busier, sunnier, warmer and much more to do and see. I really recommend Puerto de La Cruz for just a day trip and no more!!! Because of the mountain range surrounding this area, all the clouds get traped over this area, which means it's much cooler, more cloudy, but more green. If you are looking for sun in Tenerife, then stay in the south of the island. The hotel itself is very dated, you have a small cooker and a sink in a corner with a few kitchen cabinets in dark wood!!! This is not shown in the room pictures!!!! The cooker is not connected, so if you want to use it, you have to hire utensils, pots and plates from the hotel and then they will turn it on!!! There is absolutely nothing in the kitchen, not even a spoon. There is no kettle or tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The hotel told us, hire a kettle for €4 a day, or upgrade your room to one with tea/coffee making facility for €48 a day!!! Reminds me of Ryan Air, the hotel is cheap, but everything is extra down to netflix!!! On the positive side, the rooms are quite large with a bedroom off the living area. Balcony is a good size too. The hotel is Affiliated to Melia, so don't expect customer service either!!! I won't be back!!!
GGuest UserEverything corresponds to the description and photographs, clean, cozy, friendly staff, nearby there is a store, a kiosk with excursions, a bus station, a beach (waves, always a red flag), you can walk to the city beach with swimming pools, the nature is very beautiful, everything is super.
GGuest UserBooked a full board and food was up to expectations. However do note that drinks (alcohol, soft drinks and even water) are charged separately even under full board. The bed in the room was adequate and had a great unobstructed view of the coast.
AAnonymous UserReally nice staff, yet quite noisy at any time...The walls and balcony doors are just useless...could hear maintenance sound of the terrace, peole chatting, and even TV programs from the next room all night...
First solo holiday and loved Monopol... Transfer drops you off 2 mins walk from hotel, staff are lovely and polite. Bedroom are huge, lovely view off the sea and pool from room 201. Church bells are lovely to hear. Breakfast is ample always find something to eat, they don't do any other meals but you can nip next door to Don Carlos, they take your order then will bring it to wherever you are sitting. The pool isn't heated, but great size, they have a jacuzzi and sauna and a small gym. I have no negatives to say as I just simply loved it, simple and quaint, this is the oldest hotel in Tenerife. Visit to Lagos Martianez Pools is a must, Botanic Gardens are good, never done Loro Parque as was too hot for me to walk around. Beds are comfiest I've ever been in when staying abroad but the only negative I have is in 4 days I stayed their my shower was always COLD. Would I return? Yes 100% Close to all restaurants, shops etc Oh and Molly Malone's is a must (Irish Bar) 5 mins walk from hotel
My boyfriend and I were on our first holiday together. We would be staying at Pez Azul for 11 days. We arrived on the 29th of July. Entering the hotel was nice. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We quickly got to go to our room. When we got our first room, we were welcomed by a weird smell. We searched the room for an ashtray or something that could cause this smell. Eventually we opened the window, in hopes the smell would get better. We went to the city centre, which was like a 5 minute walk from the hotel. This was lovely. I noticed that when we got back from the city centre, my nose was stuffed, I had a persistent cough and experienced difficulty breathing. My boyfriend had the same symptoms the day after. Walking up the stairs became an inconvenience, where he ran out of breath easily. This is raised questions, as he is an athlete. However, the second night, my boyfriend took a shower. He noticed black mold on the ventilation shafts and on the ceiling in the bathroom. This immediately explained the smell in the room. We checked the rest of the room, where we also found spots of black mold. The black mold was everywhere in the bathroom and even above our bed. Of course we wanted to leave this room as soon as possible. We went to the reception and explained the situation. Staff helped us out immediately. That night we slept in an other room. Entering that room, the smell was better. We checked this room on black mold too. Turned out that in this room, the ventilation shafts contained black mold as well. It was a lot less compared to our old room, but since the black mold was in the ventilation shafts, this probably meant it was through out the whole hotel. The next morning we went to the reception again. We yet got another room. In this room, the assumption was confirmed again. We checked the room. The smell was very good, except the black mold was still in the ventilation shafts. We did see that the cleaners probably tried to clean the shafts, but it was still in there. The shafts are directly above the shower, so when you take a shower, it’s a matter of time when the mold grows back. Note that all three rooms were on different floors. Also note that the pictures we took, are over 3 rooms. Bottom line: the service was great. The staff really tried to help us and offer us a solution. However the problem is through out the whole hotel. This caused us to eventually switch to an Airbnb in the neighborhood. We did get a refund of the nights we didn’t use the hotel. We really hope the hotel owner is going to contact an experienced mold cleaning service as the situation now provokes serious health risks, especially to people with sensitive airways or conditions like asthma. It’s a pity that a hotel with such great staff and great location is practically impossible to enjoy purely because of this problem. Please fix this!
