Could be so much better, in my opinion for the money it cos it was not worth it. My 5 year old loved it though as it’s a small hotel. The food was mediocre and the buffet lacked choice compared to other all inclusive hotels in Barbados namely sea breeze and savannah beach. The bar area is so small only enough table and chairs for about 14 people excluding the bar stools so when it rains no where to sit. The outside area in the evening has so much potential, they put on entertainment but table set up outside is poor and not the best at keeping areas clean day and night! A shame they didn’t serve mimosas with breakfast or just in general. The sea is beautiful and the rooms are clean. However no table on balcony which I really missed, I have to work when I travel so not having a table on my balcony with a coffee was disappointing. Towel pool/beach service should be part of your maid service or more accessible for pool users! The sun bed cushions were dirty from birds or fruit they had plenty so not sure why there were not taken in at night and replaced. I paid the same money to stay at sandals Barbados and it was out of this world! The staff were pleasant and there were some really lovely people, I would return for less money and eat out more, unless the food improved!

Just back from a wonderful 9 days at Mango Bay and can highly recommend it. The location is fantastic, on a stunning beach with crystal clear water and amazing snorkelling right off the beach. Stingrays, turtles and so many beautiful fish without needing a special boat trip. There is so much on offer at the water sports hut - kayaks, paddle boards, hobie cat boats, boogie boards all for free, you could go out on the water every day doing something fun. We didn’t have a problem getting sun loungers, although most people were already up and about by 7am so it might be more difficult later in the morning. The guys working on the beach are super helpful and will set more up if you need them. We were really pleasantly surprised by the food, the majority of lunches and dinners are a La carte which was really nice for all inclusive. Fresh fish on offer every night. Also pool bar food available 11-4 if you don’t feel like sitting in the restaurant at lunchtime. Can’t understand moans about wine as there were 2 different whites plus a red and a rosé on offer without extra cost. There were a couple of occasions when service and food could have been better but overall for all inclusive the food and drink was way better than places we’ve been to in the past. The rooms are fairly basic but there were comfortable beds including proper singles rather than a pull-out for our 2 children, always plenty of hot water and clean towels, and kept very clean so nothing to complain about there. One lady even washed our wet swimming stuff and hung it out on the balcony, I wish I’d got her name to mention her specifically. Lots of storage space for clothes and even an iron and board. The staff work so hard and certain individuals really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and at ease - special mention to Damian, Shemar and Sabrina on the egg station who makes the best eggs ever! Considering the price, I’d say this hotel is fantastic value for money and great for families. Eating out is eye-wateringly expensive in Barbados and the food at Mango Bay was good enough that we didn’t feel the need to eat out any time other than the Oistins Fish Fry. There’s even a 2 hour catamaran trip included so it really is all inclusive. I would happily go back repeatedly. Loved it!

Very poor in every respect, room was small and very dated Bar and staff were very poor gave us our drinks in plastic cups when sitting at the bar then got shirty when asked them to put it in a glass Tried to get beach towels was told they had ri In out come back tomorrow this was at 3.30 in afternoon and man didn’t even come out of shed We have been to Barbados lots of times and love the local food there was a traditional food menu day we arrived it was disgusting We managed 4 hours and left other couples had told us their horror stories

Stopped in for a sunday breakfast, nice cosy beachfront hotel in Holetown serving good and delicious food...accomodating to locals who may just need a day off from the kitchen or during your lunch break from work...for it's location being on the west coast its quite affordable...always pleasant and friendly staff towards nonresidents....service was prompt and attentive...choice of food is of good quality and quantity as there's always a replenishing of the buffet...I'll be back!

Perfect hotel for a quiet, sun-soaked beach vacation - my second time here and food is fabulous, zero li rips for drinks, great entertainment each night in a low-key kind of way - always a beach chair, always an umbrella available and free water sports ( we did water skiing and the catamaran trip). You don’t get harassed on the beautiful beach from people trying to sell you things and the swimming is diving both in the pool and stunning beach . I did yoga on the beach and Aqua fit with a fabulous instructor. Ask and pay for beach front and you won’t be disappointed- back blocking rooms get noise from the Sunday street party apparently. Service is top notch and rooms are clean and well appointed and wifi works great.

Have just returned from a 10 day holiday at Mango Bay. We love this hotel. The staff are great, nothing is too much trouble and they are all attentive and polite. The beach is great with clear water and clean sand. We stayed in ‘The Ivy ‘ which is the penthouse suite and it was wonderful with a jacuzzi on the balcony and a bedroom with separate lounge. Couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you Mango Bay can’t wait until we visit again.

Arrived back this morning after a wonderful week with our daughter at Mango Bay. I don't recognise the previous negative description of the staff as I would say they are an asset to the hotel. Nothing was ever too much trouble - any variation of the meals of drinks they were always fine with. Everyone we spoke to was having a great time. If bar staff have their backs turned, remember they are doing drinks for people on the beach or having a long meal inside, so they aren't ignoring you, you are just in an invisible queue. Shirlene worked tirelessly at the bar, despite the heat and the sometimes rather rude guests. We found the alcohol to be ok but would agree that sparking wine would be a good addition. A lot of effort went into the food. This was our twelfth time in the Caribbean and the only time that the food had spicy flavours, and so nicely presented. We had two lovely ground floor rooms right next to the pool so no complaints there. You don't need to bring adaptor plugs for phones and tablets as there are usb ports in bottom of the lamps. All of the Caribbean has tired looking rooms, but they are kept spotlessly clean with good showers. My husband and I both had birthdays during the stay and each time we were given an individualised menu and table decorations which was a nice touch. The beach was beautiful. You don't need to go on a snorkelling trip to see the rays and turtle, just wait for the boats coming from other hotels and watch where they deposit the snorkellers and you 'll find them there (because they get fed!). The hotel location is ideal: beautiful sandy beach with plenty of snorkelling, and up the road is a posh mall and a great supermarket in case you forgot something. We had a letter saying that despite management telling people not to put their towels on the sunbeds they will still do this. Couldn't care less: don't they know that sunbathing in that hot sun massively ages your skin?! We were happy just to be in the warmth and stayed in the shade. I can't praise the staff enough, the Barbadian people are so welcoming and hard working, so ignore the kind of recent negative comment, so disrespectful. WE're hpomg to come back later in the year.

Whilst sitting at the airport waiting for the plane I thought I'd give my views. Barbados is a beautiful place with beautiful people and Mango Bay is an amazing place to stay. The food and drinks were excellent. The location on the amazing beach was perfect. The watersports included were great. We had no sunlounger issues, no issues with drink selection and no issues with the noise given from the tree frogs. (That's a bit like saying the waves are noisy when sat next to the beach). If I could give only some areas of development. The WiFi is quite poor, and it says it's fast in the rooms, well it is when it works, it's very intermittent. There is a man made reef in front of the beach where you can snorkel and see all sorts of sea life, unfortunately it's littered with the small plastic straws they give you with each drink. Overall a great experience.

This hotel could be okay but so much needs to improve. We arrived at an empty reception area to be greeted by two receptionists who totally ignored us, sadly this was a theme through out our stay. The staff here with a few exceptions are the worst we have ever encounted, most particularly at the bar where time and again they would keep there backs turned from you even though they knew you were there .. no eye contact and certainly no smiles was the norm. Sevice at lunch and dinner could also be very hit and miss, some were friendly others barely would make eye contact. The place itself is tired as was our room, however every thing in room did work well and was kept very clean.. I would say the cleaning staff were the friendliest. The food and drink quality here was also varied between okay and bad , some cocktails we just couldn't drink at all, some staff had no clue and the red wine way to hot, hardly any quality brands of spirits available, probably the worst experience was at 10.00pm being served a drink in a small plastic cup as they always seem to be without enough glasses of any type. One plus is the beach and location, though getting out of the sea can be challenging as its quite steep. We spoke with other people who found the resort and some staff poor and like us will not return to Mango Bay, as for us, Barbados is well past its sell by date, far too many hotels need refurbishments and the people have definitely lost that nice island vibe I remember. We will not return to Barbados again .. there are so many much better choices.
