Best Hotels near Hamburg-Veddel, Hamburg

OK - it's still the furniture I knew from the time when it was the Forum Hotel. And that's very long ago. But in autumn the renovation is supposed to go. The reception was very friendly. It's been really fun. I have a beautiful room with beautiful views of the city. Unfortunately, very much is built so that you may not be able to look at the elbe at all next time. Unfortunately. This time there was even a process that was close. Until the water pressure (15th floor) the shower was all right. But this is natural and there was no standard. I was surprised at breakfast. Besides the friendly staff, which quickly cleaned, the offer was very versatile. I asked: the fricadels tasted as they did (burned apple pieces) and not for convenience. But you didn't want to make yourself with foreign pearls and thought it was convenience. But it was all very good. I will put the hotel more in my focus once I'm back in Hamburg.

Small and date hotels...io there was one night for a work trip, I ended in one of the three rooms in the small secondary building. The room had two single beds and is very small, alone it is feasible, but to share in two rooms I think the rooms are quite narrow. There was a window that could not be dark in any way, while the larger window had a tent that only partially dark. If you were people who absolutely need darkness to sleep, you might have trouble. The door was like a very normal door of a house room, with a normal key, and there were cracks both above and below. All very date, moreover with the moquette on the ground. Breakfast in the average. In other words, if you have to stay there for a night of stay, it's okay, otherwise rated ...

We stayed for a long weekend in November. Upon landing in Hamburg we took the train to the centre (Hbf) and easily connected to next train to the hotel. The Hotel sits equal distance from Elbbrücken and veddel. The Veddel atation is far more appealing though as you pass local shops and the station has a kiosk. Both stations are an easy, flat 5-10minutes walk. The Hotel sits on the outskirts of a residential area and felt safe. There is a good supermerket directly behind the Hotel and a great little bakers 5 minutes away. We checked in after 10pm but the check in was easy. Our room had everything we needed including coffee, tea, kettle and a small fridge. There was a safe and complimentary toiletries. Windows were large, let in a lot of light and allowed us a view back towards the city. The room was clean, warm and comfertable with a stylish bathroom. We did not partake in breakfast due to nearby supermarket and bakery. The rearaurant looked nice though and there was a vending machine for a late night nibble! The staff we encountered were very friendly and spoke english. Our room was cleaned daily. No complaints at all - dpnt be put off by the distance on a map. It is less then 5 minutes to the city centre ln the S1. Would highly recommend and likely stay here again when we return.

It is always a pleasure to live in this hotel, it has everything to offer we wish from a hotel. Equipment, size of the rooms, design, bar, restaurant etc. , we would give the hotel smoothly 5 stars but probably missing the pool. So or so we come back, because for us the Best Western Plus Hotel Böttcherhof is the top address in Hamburg, thank you.

We stayed at the Hyperion Hamburg for one night during our roadtrip through Europe. Arriving by car is very convenient, since the hotel is located close to a major road and offers garage parking with direct access to the hotel. Also, the location is great for sightseeing, as most of the city center is reachable by foot. We got a nice big corner room on one of the upper floors, with great views, comfortable beds, and lots of space for the 3 of us (2 adults and one child). The breakfast was very good, with many different options.

We stayed here for 5 days for a family visit. The hotel surprised us in a good way. Everything was clean efficient and pleasant. The location was also ideal for us (5min to the subway/tube station). Modern building, nice breakfast buffets - nice bathroom, and quiet room. Couldn't ask for more. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit allem. I think it also presented good value for money.

Stayed here for Valentine's Day and had a really nice stay. Our private room had a really nice view over the rail tracks where you could look out and enjoy the trains going by. Only complaint is that it gets pretty loud early in the morning. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Would recommend this hostel/hotel to anyone visiting Hamburg. The location in particular is amazing, we were at most 25 minutes away from any of Hamburg's main sights. Will be staying A&O again in the future, for sure.

I booked this lovely property with miles, but cash rates are typically very reasonable. I enjoyed my stay greatly. The atmosphere felt fresh and new (as if the hotel had been recently constructed), the location is within walking distance to the subway station and Miniatur Wunderland, and the service is very kind and helpful. Thinking back on it, I hope I didn’t sound too entitled when I was asking every two hours if there was a room available for early check-in (I hadn’t slept the night before!). The staff were so patient and accommodating. I loved them. The rooms were everything I needed for a one-night stay, and then some. My request for a courtyard-facing room was granted, and I slept with the utmost bliss. Cleanliness was apparent throughout the room and lobby areas. The space I was given was large, comfy, and workable for someone in an electric wheelchair. I shall leave by mentioning one thing I wasn’t aware of—the holiday of Pentecost is apparently a huge thing in Germany. While this brought awesome advantages like zero traffic and a feeling as if Hamburg was a ghost town I had to myself for a day, it also meant the on-site restaurant was closed (and most other restaurants). Not complaining—just FYI if you’re visiting in early June! Thanks for the best stay I could ever ask for!

Stayed in a single room, then switched to a 6 man dorm on the final night as it was Sunday and was expecting it to be very quiet. The single rooms are spartan and there is not even a chair, just some little stuffed stool. The issue in Hamburg is that accomdation is expensive in the city. For the same money, you could stay at a very nice 3 star hotel in many European cities! The 6 man dorm seemed quiet and ok, and then I noticed the issues. There were beer stains on the floor that acted as adhesive for my shoes. Crumbs and discarded sweet rappers in and around the bed. I had the room to myself so didn't complain. Settled for a decent night's rest. That's when someone came in at midnight (Sunday) and loudly stomped around, turning on all of the lights. They then took a shower and took their merry time settling into bed... For the price the rooms are not up to scratch. However, there aren't many ”cheaper” alternatives in Hamburg and the hostel (that charges hotel prices) know this. The check-in service was tedious and there's a queue at check in time. When I switched rooms to the 6 man dorm I said I wanted an early checkin to the that room if possible, and on the quiet side of the building (non motorway). They said no problem. Then, when I went to the room, it was of course on the noisy side. Went back and had to wait a couple hours longer before I could access the quieter room that I had asked for. The customer service is not great. They'll ask for your booking number even after you tell them your name. I did not feel like digging around for the number so I said my name and they searched for it (much to their distain probably).

Great location. Easy to get around and get back to the place at night. If you're a light sleeper I wouldn't recommend the shared rooms, people coming back late at night, the doors close quite loudly. My only complaint is that I received a keycard to the wrong room and walked right into a private suite.. Nobody was there thankfully and I just walked right out, but if I were staying in a private room I would hate to think that strangers could just walk into my room where all my belongings are lying around. Otherwise clean and quite a cool environment.
