Kai Bae Beach Koh Chang|2.99km from Ko Yuak
We stayed with 4 people in one of the 4 people houses (Family bungalow with sea view). They are nice if you want the feeling of your ”own place”. They are located to the left when going down the road and facing the reception building, while everything else is to the right side. That gives some privacy, which is nice. The 4 person buildings are made of wood, and it seems they have been painted white recently. The location is nice. It is between two of the main beaches, so you need some kind of transport if you like to visit the island. During the day, taxis are available. The road is not for beginner scooter drivers, take that into account. Let's summarize what we liked and what not. This takes into account the rather high price of 3600 THB per day. The good: + Nice location in the jungle, far away from any party noise. For a chill experience, this is the place. + Friendly staff, taking care of the customers. Good English skills. Professional use of handheld radios to get stuff done quickly. + Attentive service in the restaurant + Small, but good breakfast in relaxed atmosphere. + Modern and clean AirCon units. Two units in the room (one downstairs, one for upstairs) gives options if you like it cool, but do not like to have cold air blowing in your face. + Nice beach. Yes, there are some rocks, but that is nature. The bad: + Wi-Fi is a hit/miss, with access points on poles facing the houses. 2.4 / 5 Ghz provided, but not enough APs, so signal strength often worse than -80dBm, which is not sufficient. + Construction rubble scattered around the premises. This includes sharp stuff on the walking ways, and leftover paint on the grass. This could be removed easily. The ugly: + No Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers (ELB / RCCB). Even with them not mandatory in Thailand, for 3600 THB a day, the electric setup should include these. The water heater did include a build in ELB, but the fuse box did not. In a luxury resort, this should be standard, considering the wet climate Considering the rather high price, we would give this 3 out of 5 points. This can easily be a 5 points resort, the negative stuff can be easily changed. We will be back next year, and will update the review then.

Good hotel, although not new. Convenient location with many cafes and shops nearby. The territory is good, a lot of greenery. Breakfast is modest, the main diet is eggs in different versions. In addition, vegetables, fruits, herbs, pastries. Two pools: in a large one, it seems, sea water. We did not swim there, as the water is very warm, not at all refreshing. In a small one, the water is better, clean, you can freshen up) The beach is very beautiful, but not swimmable at all! Stones. You can enter only in coral slippers. We did not swim in the sea near the hotel. There are kayaks, the use of hotel guests is free. The staff is friendly, as are the locals. But special thanks to the girls at the reception. Very hospitable, friendly, always ready to help!! And thanks to the hotel driver, he also helps with luggage upon arrival and departure! Very pleasant and helpful! We will stay at this hotel again! ❤️

We were in KB Resort for repeated times. The reception was in a new building and the beach bungalows were also new. We had one of these bungalows in the first row at the sea, about 3-4 meters from the sea. Only a few cocoa palms separated us from the beach. The facilities were very good and clean with a large bed and a beautiful veranda with a table, bank, chair and a beautiful ”bed sofa”. Who uses TV in the room at this location and the view of the sea, I don't understand.
Chokdee Resort

We were in Ko Chang for a few days longer than originally planned and needed to find accommodation, we were recommended by a guy in a local bar to look at chokdee, however we read all the reviews and were put off but couldn’t find anything else in budget that ticked our boxes so we went to see the man at chokdee and asked to look in one of the new bungalows, he was obliging and we did and then negotiated a good price The new bungalows are great, spacious and very clean and with good aircon and a big fridge and as they are only a year or two old haven’t got stale or fusty and the mastic in the bathroom is still the colour it’s meant to be If you are going to chokdee make sure that you get a B series bungalow, they are the new ones and only a few yards from the beach Don’t bother with breakfast their though it’s a bit ropey and there are plenty of better alternatives a short walk along the beach

Kai Bae Beach
We spent 3 weeks in this hotel from 28/02 to 20/03/2020. +: - breakfast - bungalow size and litter - room service impeccable - staff kindness - situation The - : - the swimming pool is very damaged. The hotel is a very good hotel, and it is a very good hotel, and it is a good hotel, and it is a good hotel. If some take precautions to not disturb, others run on the lanes, which makes the walls of all bungalows tremble. All bungalows are in the passage. - the lighting in the bungalows is too low. The shower has a rather low flow rate and it is difficult to adjust (whether too hot or cold). - Wi-Fi is available in the rooms but does not allow you to capture the internet. This is why you need to move near the reception. - The price/quality ratio is not at the highest because it is still expensive for a hotel not on the sea. For the same price, I think we can find better.

Stayed in the budget rooms, which are about a five minute walk from the main resort and on the opposite side of the road. Room was very spacious and well designed with lots of places to put stuff and plugs near the bed. Bathroom was also really nice and featured a large independent shower, with lots of shelf space to put stuff. The breakfast is very nice and the resort is located in front of a beautiful sandy beach. Overall a very pleasant stay. One negative is that the Wi-Fi was not working so we ended up using up all of our mobile data during our one week stay.
The Dewa Koh Chang

Klong Prao Beach
We found Dewa to be a high end resort that had everything you needed (except a gym) but it seemed to lack personality. The staff were friendly but not very attentive. We stayed in one of the Deluxe cottages which was beautiful and very clean, however the noise from other a/c units and the big router/internet machine outside our door sounded very loud at night (I had to wear earplugs at night). For such a lovely place we expected a bit more of a quiet space. At checkout our bill was incorrect so it’s worth checking rather than you assume all is well. The beach is beautiful and there are other restaurants and places to have a drink but not very many. On the main road, 5 minutes walk, there’s an awesome Italian restaurant that makes great pizzas and pasta if you need a break from Thai cuisine.
