We are regular guests at the Summer and wanted to write this review for the beautiful A La Carte restaurant Med. Its location alone is simply stunning. Perched on the cliff side over looking the bay it is a sight to behold. The dining levels are all glass fronted so if there is a breeze you will be comfortable when seated. Once seated we were promptly looked after by a lovely waitress called Melina. Wine poured we eagerly scanned the menu. The first thing we noted, was that as opposed to our earlier visits the menu has been condensed into a smaller selection. But we think that this is a good thing as it allows the chefs to concentrate on what they are knowledgeable in producing. Our starter/salad was Verde which was very tasty with its mix of mushrooms and white truffle. Pasta course followed which was the Mushroom Risotto and a small portion of Carbonara for me. Very delicious. Please see attached pics. Main course was Pork Panceta for my husband and Veal Tagliata for me. The presentation and taste were sublime. So much so that we swopped mains halfway through so that each of us could experience the levels of flavour that were in each dish. Crème Brûlée to share was our dessert accompanied by more delicious wine, which was exceptional. This place gets the full 💯 from us and we look forward to our return visit next year! Well done Summer Palace team. You are a credit to the hospitality industry! Have a great winters rest. You so deserve it! Jo and Mart x

We spent very nice holidays at this hotel. The family rooms with private pool are great, brand new, modern. Ideal for moments in private. Service is great, mini bar free and refilled every day, pool towels chabged also everyday in the room. Many other pools accessible, hotel beach with sunbeds available. Service ag lunch in the main restaurant could be improved (time to wait for drinks was too long some days). Would definitely recommend!

Mitsis Summer Palace is an outstanding resort with 5 star facilities and exceptional services. From the food at the a la carte restaurants of the resort, to the cocktails selection at the bars, Mitsis Summer Palace is a gem for Kos Island. The friendly staff, the smiles of the guests and the renovated areas of this resort make the experience memorable. Totally recommend!

George and Billy from the Med bar/restaurant gave us excellent service. The rest of the staff is sweet as well. The only issue we had, was that we were tree girls, and therefore had a guest bed that wasn’t great to lay in. Dimitri from the pub, in the hotel area, made our night. Overall worth it and a great experience.

We arrived at the Mitsis hotel with big hope as was soon disappointed. The hotel is amazing for views and superior suite with sea view room was everything and more than what we expected! We arranged an anniversary cake to come which did not come and by the sounds of it, others did not get this either. The receptionist didn’t tell us any information on the hotel that we had to book the restaurants and could only book a restaurant once. They didn’t give us a map so we only found some of the places around the hotel until the last day! I think this is very poor from a 5* hotel. The food was nice but the service let it down a lot, it felt like even the managers had no clue on what to do. It was just not organised at all which made it quite stressful for the people sat in the restaurants. We booked a dinner at 21:15 as that’s the only slot they had. They didn’t take our drink order or even pay our tables until 21:30 and then we ordered telling them we would like to order desert after our mains which was okayed by the waiter. The food was good however then we got rejected for dessert as the kitchen closed at 10:00 and they didn’t come over for puddings at all and it was 10:03. It was a cold brownie and ice cream which wouldn’t have been hard for the chefs to just make us. You don’t expect to be rejected by 3 minutes over the time, a time we didn’t know about and wasn’t told about. The pool area was nice but had to wake up very early as they were all taken by 8 even though the sign says you can’t reserve your beds until 8. At the beach it says you can get slushies etc but they didn’t have the machines working. It seemed that all of the other hotels could use all of our bars etc on the beach however we got rejected by the food places on the beach as our hotel couldn’t use them. “you are the posh hotel” well then why can’t we use anything and everyone else can use all of our things! I would not take kids here as there are steps everywhere and the lift was out of order half the time so everyone had to carry the buggies up the stairs. Also no kids pools near! Also for older people i would stay away unless you are very fit and capable of walking a lot of stairs Our Netflix in our room didnt work as it said we hadn’t been checked in! This got sorted on the last night we were there. Defo not a 5* like we have been to before so was disappointing. Really need to work on the staffing and the managers to make sure they know what to do! I can’t imagine what the hotel is going to be like in prime time in summer as it didn’t even seem that busy when we were there!

My husband and I stayed here for 10 nights in May 2023. It was our first time in Kos and staying at a Mitsis hotel. The thing that attracted us to the hotel was the 5* rating and room type we booked - Superior Double with Sea View and Plunge Pool. We arrived very late after travelling all day. Check in was quick and easy. The only food on offer at this time was the reduced buffet, which is exactly that. Plenty of salad items, bread, some cakes and one or two hot dishes. It would have been nice for some meats and cheeses to be available to make a sandwich but only ever saw that at breakfast. The room was very nice and modern, luxurious and decorated to a high standard. It had a walk in rainfall shower which was great. Separate toilet with door and large bathtub with modern fixtures. The mini bar was refilled daily with beer, wine and soft drinks. This room type has a nespresso machine with the pods refilled daily too. I believe it is only the superior rooms that have this. Lots of wardrobe space and a safe. Large flat screen tv, although most of the channels are not in english. There are no plug sockets near enough to the tv to plug in a fire stick (we always travel with one) so I would recommend packing an extension if you want to use one. Room has air con and plug sockets have usb ports on them which is a nice touch. We didn’t find the beds comfortable nor the pillows, but this is all down to personal preference. Outside on the terrace you have a table and chairs which are always in the shade so a nice place to sit when you need a break from the sun. There are also 2 large, very comfortable sun beds/loungers with a parasol. Again had a luxurious vibe. We had to phone reception and get someone to come and put the parasol up, 2 men came to do it and they struggled. All of the other rooms surrounding us had to do the same so if you get the parasol put up I would leave it up or you will need to call reception each time! The pool had a jacuzzi setting on it which was nice. The terrace/pool gets the sun all day. Also provides shelter if you get rain like we did a few days. A lot of the hotel looks modern - nests, superior rooms, a La cartes and infinity pool area. The main building/terraces, buffet and lobby have a more traditional feel. Buffet This was hit and miss, we found if you went early for each meal it was better. For example there would be nicer things on the buffet that then get replaced with something else after it had run out possibly. For anyone who has allergies/intolerances or a special diet you might struggle as the labelling is not very detailed and at some dishes not present at all. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Drink service sometimes a bit slow but you could just bring a drink from the bar in with you. Breakfast buffet had the most choice in my experience. Lots of hot food, cereals, yoghurts, bread, fruits and meat and cheeses as well as pancakes to choose from. We visited each a la carte once d

I really liked this beautiful place. The luxurious view from my room and the location of the hotel was just perfect. The mini bar in our room was replenished regularly and included wines beers and regular drinks. Our cleaning lady was so kind and friendly. A big thank you to captain billy who was so unique and helpful and made our stay better.

Wow. The most amazing, beautiful hotel. Ignore the big negatives as it was just amazing and I already want to return. Food - All the restaurants were lovely, the pool was lovely, the snacks throughout the day were tasty. However, The Buffet was not nice, we were so hungry after this so we ate out the nights we didn’t have a hotel restaurant meal booked. Make sure you get booked in early for all the a la carte restaurants! Room - The sea view room was just beautiful, and so luxury. However, we couldn’t really see the sea much, but we did have 2 big comfy sun loungers which were fab. You get the mini bar free daily which is so good and also a Nespresso machine!!!! We paid for a room upgrade for the last night we were there. Instead of the basic sea view room, we upgraded to a private pool suite. It cost about £160 and was worth every penny. Wow I really recommend this!!!!! Pool Area - The sun beds are very strict in terms of not being able to leave and go for breakfast. We were up at 6:30AM in order to actually get a sunbed or we wouldn’t have gotten one! We loved getting up early to watch the sunrise but then the pool and bar doesn’t open until 9ish so it’s a long morning. We had to either take it in turns within our couple to go for breakfast or ask a couple nearby to sit on one of our sunbeds. Extras - DO NOT go to the hair salon for an up do!!! I showed a photo of what I wanted and it wasn’t like that at all. I asked her to redo it and it still was appalling. It was such a waste of money. I don’t even had a photo of it as I pulled it out before I even got back to my room. Another girl was having her nails done next to me and the spa staff member was not doing what she was asking for either, so it seems a recurring thing that they do not do as you ask and pay for!!!! It was meant to be a nice relaxing experience but it was stressful and upsetting!!! We booked the 7 course romantic meal. It turned out to be 5 course, which is still plenty! It was such a beautiful meal, absolutely perfect. However, do not book if you can’t sit down with your legs crossed as you have to sit on the floor. But the cooking was just beautiful. We hired the pedalo with a slide which was good as we went 4 ways on the cost with another couple.

Came here for the first time for a week and could not have loved the stay more! The hotel layout was fantastic with lots to discover, with all restaurants feeling unique with delicious menus! Some days there were djs by the pool or beach giving that extra fun feel to the day. The staff couldn’t have been friendly in all the restaurants and the leads like Billy and George made sure everything was seamless every time we ate. The value for money was incredible given the quality of the food/drinks and variety of experiences. Loved our stay and would definitely come back!
