Hotels in Guandu Ancient Town, Kunming

The shared elevator for the apartment building often had long wait times and felt quite dated. There's a KTV downstairs. The only perks were its proximity to the subway and the complimentary breakfast. As for the room itself, it was just average. While it boasted smart home features and face recognition for entry, we experienced a concerning issue mid-stay: after a few days, the door could surprisingly be opened by simply pulling it, without face recognition. I reported this to the front desk, and they had a technician fix it. However, despite the repair, my family and I genuinely struggled to get proper rest during our entire stay. Although we were informed the 5th floor might be noisy due to the KTV downstairs, it felt more like sleeping directly above a nightclub. Almost every night, until 2 or 3 AM, the walls noticeably vibrated, and the noise was overwhelmingly loud. Consequently, with my child, we rarely managed to fall asleep before 1 or 2 AM, often not until 2 or 3 AM.

It's a pretty good hotel, newly renovated. I saw reviews saying people would come back next time, so I booked this one too. It's definitely worth coming back. Although the room is a bit small, it has everything you need and is of high quality. The breakfast is very simple: steamed buns, eggs, corn, rice noodles, porridge, fried rice, and shredded potatoes. Actually, you can eat outside the ancient town.

This was probably the best hotel experience we had in Kunming during the National Day holiday. We were so pleasantly surprised to return to our room after a day out and find fruit and milk waiting for us. The room was clean and tidy, with a charming, antique elegance that my kids absolutely loved and were very excited about. The bathroom even had a roll-up blind that, when opened, allowed me to easily keep an eye on them. The only minor drawback was the difficulty in parking since the hotel is located within an ancient town. In the end, the hotel staff recommended a parking lot across the street (10 RMB for the whole day), which was very helpful.

The room is very new, the facilities and equipment are very new, the breakfast is rich in variety and very clean. In particular, the front desk is very enthusiastic and attentive. The hotel is a older building that is located on one of the sides of Old Town. If you dare to walk outside of the Ancient Town you can find really good food for a really cheap price. The beds were very comfortable and the receptionist was very helpful. My only complaint is that the shower drainage pipes were clogged which created a big mess and it was pretty inconvenient. I would also say that its necessary to repaint some walls so the rooms feel cleaner.

My stay was truly exceptional! A major highlight was the voice-activated smart control system, allowing me to effortlessly operate lights, curtains, and the air conditioning with a simple command – incredibly high-tech and convenient. The cleanliness was impeccable; every corner sparkled, and the bedding was pristine and comfortable, ensuring complete peace of mind. Service was wonderfully warm and attentive. The staff were friendly, always smiling, and quick to respond, making me feel genuinely at home. The environment was surprisingly quiet. Despite being in a commercial hub, the soundproofing was superb, guaranteeing a deep and undisturbed night's sleep. Breakfast offered a rich and delicious spread, with a great selection of both Chinese and Western dishes. The freshly prepared Yunnan rice noodles were especially authentic and tasty! With all these five outstanding qualities, I wholeheartedly recommend it. This will definitely be my first choice for future visits!

The room is spacious and comfortable, separated from wet and dry, the design is also very good, all aspects are very good, our family of four came out to travel very comfortable, children also like it very much.

I booked a standard room, and the bed was 1.5 meters wide, which was quite spacious. Combined, it felt like a 3-meter bed, so I was very pleased. The room was spotlessly clean and well-equipped. The staff were warm and generous. I'll definitely stay here again next time. The price was also reasonable, and there were even plants and fish in the room, plus the flowers outside by the road were beautiful.

The most comfortable hotel to stay in this trip, the bed is very soft and relatively high. Health is also good, clean. The sink is very user-friendly, will not come out of the water, the bath water is not bad. There are parking spaces, but not too many. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the museum. It takes20.30 minutes to walk to Guandu Ancient Town, but Kunming is very convenient. There are small eDonkeys everywhere. There are no breakfast restaurants around, and there is very little food.
