Traveling solo in Kunming, my stay at Old Big Foot International Youth Hostel completely exceeded my expectations – it's truly an ideal haven for backpackers! The location is absolutely unbeatable. Just a few steps out the door is Zhuanxin market, where I could get everything from tofu rice noodles and Dai-style snacks to fresh fruit in one go. It's also not far from the subway station, making it super easy to get to all the major attractions around the city. The hostel itself has a courtyard bursting with bougainvillea, and you'll find traveler messages and map check-in walls everywhere. The downstairs bar is perfect for sunbathing during the day, and for listening to music and chatting at night, sometimes with guests playing guitar – it's such a gentle and therapeutic atmosphere. The accommodation details are incredibly thoughtful. Every bed has a full blackout curtain, creating a private little space when drawn. The bedding was clean and odorless, there was 24-hour hot water, and the cleaning staff tidied regularly, so the bathrooms were completely free of any smells. They provide lockable lockers and self-service washer and dryer machines, so no worries about valuables or laundry. The front desk staff were incredibly patient, offering detailed recommendations for local tours and free luggage storage. Their 24-hour presence made me, as a solo female traveler, feel completely safe. It's really easy to meet like-minded travel companions here. There are plenty of activities like billiards, movie nights, and city walks, so you never have to worry about feeling lonely. The prices are affordable, the facilities are comprehensive, and the atmosphere is warm. It's perfect whether you're staying for a short visit or just passing through. I wholeheartedly recommend it to solo travelers who enjoy a lively, authentic vibe!

After a long search for hotels in Kunming, I decided on Cloud Inn, and I'm so glad I did! First off, the location is fantastic. Turn right out of the hotel and walk about 200m to the 'Paper Building' in Kunming's old town. Turn left, follow the glass walkway, and you'll reach Cuihu Park. Now, about the room – it was very spacious and spotlessly clean. There wasn't even a single water stain on the sink faucet. We were even lucky enough to get a free upgrade to their largest family room, which had a 2-meter bed and a 1.5-meter bed. My child absolutely loved the 8th-floor terrace, which was filled with succulents and had a glass platform – perfect for photos on a sunny day. We stayed for three nights, and the room was cleaned daily with all amenities and drinking water replenished. The young ladies at the front desk were incredibly helpful; they always greeted us with a smile. The lobby on the first floor offers complimentary coffee, tea, fruit tea, and even ice cream. My child happily got ice cream every day! All in all, I highly recommend staying here. Plus, there are two great rice noodle shops at the intersection downstairs – one open in the mornings and the other until evening.

The room may be small, depending on your choice, but the amenities are perfect — super clean, great shower, hot water, closets, clothing hooks, comfy beds. Great service friendly people, free water and laundry, and an excellent location. Highly recommend!

Absolutely perfect! The comfort level is superb, and the price is incredibly good. The experience was fantastic, truly a home away from home. The guy at the front desk was super charming – he could pour drinks, make coffee, and handle check-ins, mastering all the skills! Every evening, they'd bring two complimentary craft beers, which were even better than many pubs. Breakfast offers both Chinese and Western options, both excellent. Crucially, the bedding in the room was really comfortable. The hotel's facilities are great, and the service is super attentive. This hotel adds so much value and definitely enhanced my impression of Kunming!

Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find our room upgraded to a family room since we had a child with us. It was lovely, and both my child and I adored it! The laundry service was exceptional; they washed, folded, and returned our clothes to the room promptly. When my child accidentally spilled water, an attendant immediately came to clean it up. Breakfast was also incredibly delicious. This hotel is truly thoughtful! The evening front desk staff and Delu (presumably a staff member or service) introduced us to their late-night congee service, which was both comforting and heartwarming. The air conditioning was powerful, the elevators were fast, the scent was pleasant, laundry and drying facilities were convenient, the TV was high-definition, and parking was super easy. We had a comfortable and worry-free stay!

The room is quite spacious and comfortable. I was satisfied with the cleanliness. They offer a washing machine and dryer, though the dryer isn't very powerful, so it takes a while. Breakfast isn't included, but if you buy it at the front desk, it's cheaper than online. The breakfast itself is decent with a good variety, though the milk tasted a bit watered down. The hotel's location is excellent; it's right outside a Line 3 subway station, and Cuihu Lake is only about a 30-minute walk away. There's a Walmart next to the hotel and plenty of snack bars in the area.

The room is nice, but the facilities are not good. The bed is not very stable. It creaks and moves when I turn over. I am worried that the bed legs will break. Hygiene: It’s okay. If the service quality is not good, I was asked to add them on WeChat. I don’t even respond to the questions raised on WeChat.

Extremely satisfied with the environment! As a long-term self-driving traveler, the environment and hygiene of this hotel are comparable to luxurious Conrad hotels. The decor is incredibly tasteful and very photogenic. The staff service is excellent, with a dedicated service chat group. The hotel restaurant also has a great vibe. It's definitely the top choice in Kunming for birthdays or other special occasions. The robot delivery service is very convenient. Parking right at the entrance is handy, and the surrounding commercial area is well-equipped. Apart from slight traffic jams during peak hours, everything else is perfect! Plus, it's pet-friendly! I will definitely be revisiting this hotel!

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, right in the city center, making it super convenient to get around. There are also tons of great restaurants and shopping spots nearby. The room was spacious and bright, and the surrounding area was really convenient. I'll definitely be back next time.

The hotel's location is great, right across from Yunnan University Hospital, with a snack street next door making dining very convenient. Beyond the snack street, there's a Walmart supermarket, and the metro station is only about a ten-minute walk away, so getting around and daily life are super easy. The room itself was clean and tidy, but the facilities are a bit dated; the shower's overhead nozzle definitely needs replacing. Breakfast is available, and you have to cook the rice noodles yourself. It was my first time, and I accidentally put the noodle strainer and the soup spoon in the wrong places. A staff member came over and yelled, 'Can't you read?!' which was quite embarrassing. I hope that gentleman can use a slightly gentler approach in the future. Overall though, it was still pretty good!
