Hotels in Chenggong New District, Kunming

I chose this hotel near the high-speed rail station for my layover in Kunming. They offer a free shuttle service to and from the station, which is very convenient – just contact them on the day. There are several hotels in this building, but this one felt newer and was very clean. The 10th floor houses the front desk, laundry room, gym, and breakfast area. We booked two lake-view king rooms for three people, including breakfast, for just over 300 yuan a day. Breakfast vouchers were provided. However, the breakfast selection was a bit limited. The freshly made rice noodles were decent; I've had rice noodles for over ten days during my trip in Yunnan, and they've all been good. If you get bored at the hotel, you can go to Wuyue Plaza, which is about five kilometers away and a 10-15 minute ride by car. The shower pressure was good, and the bedding was comfortable, although the pillows were a bit too high for me. The hotel service was excellent. When checking out, just take your room card to the ground floor and find the driver for the free shuttle service back to the station.

I booked a lake-view suite (one bedroom, one living room). Hyatt Place hotels are always on higher floors, so the view was great. The hotel offers a pick-up service from the station, and it only took about 15 minutes to get to the hotel, which was very convenient. The hotel is quite new, and the facilities are good. There's also a newly opened Chinese restaurant, so dining was easy. However, the biggest issue was the lack of seating. After the sofa bed was pulled out, there was only a footstool to sit on, and they couldn't provide an extra chair. I saw other rooms had desks and chairs with backrests, so perhaps that's something worth considering adding?

We were very satisfied with our stay here for our trip. We booked two rooms for two nights, and both rooms were exceptionally clean. The front desk staff (especially the lady at the front desk) was very kind and helpful. We'll definitely be back next time we visit. It's a great place for tourists to stay!

The room layout was well-designed, stylishly decorated, spacious, bright, and comfortable. Since I stayed for eight days, I received a complimentary upgrade to a south-facing room. I've previously stayed at Mengjing hotels in Xishuangbanna and downtown Kunming, and I've always been impressed by their focus on service and hygiene. That's why I chose Mengjing again this time. The breakfast was a bit limited, but it was enough to fill me up and tasted good. The cook also kept the area very clean. Although the central air conditioning in each room could be individually adjusted, it wasn't very effective. The front desk staff kindly provided me with an electric heater, which solved my heating issue. The young lady at the front desk was consistently polite and helpful. I'm very grateful for her assistance during my stay. While the hotel aims for good value for money, I hope they can improve the overall comfort. Due to the affordable price, many guests with less desirable etiquette also stay here. There was smoking everywhere, loud conversations in the hallway until 2 or 3 AM, and a general disregard for others. Additionally, the soundproofing isn't as good as an apartment, so I was often woken up in the middle of the night. It seems the hotel is struggling to address this issue.

I've stayed here several times now. It's right in Colorful Yunnan, and there are plenty of restaurants downstairs, making dining incredibly convenient. The rooms are uniquely designed and very spacious. For the same price, I doubt you could find another hotel with rooms this large. The attention to detail in the room's decor is also very thoughtful. They even provide a washing machine and a drying rack, which is a huge plus since it's often hard to find a place to dry clothes after washing them. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a fantastic view of a sizable lake. You can sit and enjoy panoramic views of the lake and the city. Overall, my experience was extremely satisfying.

第一次來昆明大學城，附近有很多小吃，酒店是新酒店，是我喜歡的類型。住在22樓，看看看到城市的風景，心曠神怡，加上昆明的氣候讓人很舒服，有點捨不得走了！酒店洗衣房很新，設備看起來很厲害，很潮流，比家裡用洗衣機好太多了，這個絕對值得推薦！值得一提的是，前台妹妹很熱情，贈送了2個鮮花餅，説是當地特色，讓我一定要好好品嚐！我和同事辦完事去撈魚河公園玩了兩個多小時，滇池真的美，而且天氣涼快，一點汗都不出來，超盡興，值得推薦！

It took about 15 minutes to walk from Kunming South Station West Plaza to the hotel, passing by Yunnan Normal University Chenggong Campus, which was quite pleasant. The room was spacious and quiet. The shower gel had a fresh and elegant scent, and the shower drain was very efficient. I appreciated that you needed to use your room card to access the laundry room. The breakfast was also quite varied. Overall, we were very satisfied!

The overall experience far exceeded other hotels in the same category. The facilities are well-maintained, hot water supply is stable, and the lighting creates a soft, pleasant ambiance. The staff are polite and respond quickly to requests. The hallways are clean and free of clutter. Downstairs, there are plenty of convenience stores and restaurants, making transportation very convenient. The value for money was much better than expected, I truly recommend it.
