Hotels in Chenggong New District, Kunming

I've stayed here several times now. It's right in Colorful Yunnan, and there are plenty of restaurants downstairs, making dining incredibly convenient. The rooms are uniquely designed and very spacious. For the same price, I doubt you could find another hotel with rooms this large. The attention to detail in the room's decor is also very thoughtful. They even provide a washing machine and a drying rack, which is a huge plus since it's often hard to find a place to dry clothes after washing them. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a fantastic view of a sizable lake. You can sit and enjoy panoramic views of the lake and the city. Overall, my experience was extremely satisfying.

I booked a lake-view suite (one bedroom, one living room). Hyatt Place hotels are always on higher floors, so the view was great. The hotel offers a pick-up service from the station, and it only took about 15 minutes to get to the hotel, which was very convenient. The hotel is quite new, and the facilities are good. There's also a newly opened Chinese restaurant, so dining was easy. However, the biggest issue was the lack of seating. After the sofa bed was pulled out, there was only a footstool to sit on, and they couldn't provide an extra chair. I saw other rooms had desks and chairs with backrests, so perhaps that's something worth considering adding?

We were very satisfied with our stay here for our trip. We booked two rooms for two nights, and both rooms were exceptionally clean. The front desk staff (especially the lady at the front desk) was very kind and helpful. We'll definitely be back next time we visit. It's a great place for tourists to stay!

It took about 15 minutes to walk from Kunming South Station West Plaza to the hotel, passing by Yunnan Normal University Chenggong Campus, which was quite pleasant. The room was spacious and quiet. The shower gel had a fresh and elegant scent, and the shower drain was very efficient. I appreciated that you needed to use your room card to access the laundry room. The breakfast was also quite varied. Overall, we were very satisfied!

The hotel also offers a free shuttle service to and from the station. Plus, for guests like us who have an early morning train, there's a breakfast shop and a convenience store downstairs, which is super convenient. Highly recommend!

I chose this hotel near the high-speed rail station for my layover in Kunming. They offer a free shuttle service to and from the station, which is very convenient – just contact them on the day. There are several hotels in this building, but this one felt newer and was very clean. The 10th floor houses the front desk, laundry room, gym, and breakfast area. We booked two lake-view king rooms for three people, including breakfast, for just over 300 yuan a day. Breakfast vouchers were provided. However, the breakfast selection was a bit limited. The freshly made rice noodles were decent; I've had rice noodles for over ten days during my trip in Yunnan, and they've all been good. If you get bored at the hotel, you can go to Wuyue Plaza, which is about five kilometers away and a 10-15 minute ride by car. The shower pressure was good, and the bedding was comfortable, although the pillows were a bit too high for me. The hotel service was excellent. When checking out, just take your room card to the ground floor and find the driver for the free shuttle service back to the station.

The location is on the edge of Kunming South Railway Station, which is 800 to 900 meters away. It takes a few minutes to walk to the high-speed rail. The hotel is newly opened this year and the room is quite clean as a whole. Although it is close to the station, the sound of the car is basically not heard when the window is closed, and the sound insulation is OK. The windows in the room are large floor-to-ceiling windows, the bright hall is not awkward, the mattress is not soft or hard. The whole house is smart switched, the hot water comes out quickly, and the air conditioner works. The front desk did not wait much when I checked in, and the places to eat around were also clearly stated. I wanted something to send it very quickly. This price is so good, it is more suitable than many real ones at the same price, and it is suitable to transfer or stay for a few days.

My room was spotless, with new and well-maintained facilities. The mattress and pillows were super comfortable, ensuring a sound sleep even for someone like me who's particular about beds. Breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh and delicious options, and they even had comforting porridge available late at night. The attention to detail and warm atmosphere truly make it the most comfortable place to stay during a trip. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

This room was infested with mosquitoes. Mosquitoes and other bugs were crawling all over us while we slept. Apart from Joyce Wang at the front desk, who was excellent, the service from everyone else was truly disappointing. They kept passing the buck when I tried to address the mosquito problem. First, they said they'd switch our room, but after waiting half an hour with no update, I called again and was told it wasn't possible, and that was that. Only after I got really angry did they suggest the manager could arrange for us to pay to move to another hotel room. It was already past 11 PM – what's the point of moving then? While the hotel being fully booked might be true, it's no excuse for such poor service and attitude. Leaving guests in a bug-ridden room is unacceptable. I do not recommend staying here.
