Hotels in Dianchi Lake Scenic Area, Kunming

I came to Kunming for a few days to relax, and a friend recommended this hotel. It's conveniently located right across the road from the East Gate of Daguan Park, and you can also walk or cycle along Dianchi Lake. What truly impressed me was the hotel staff – from the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant, almost every attendant I encountered was friendly and enthusiastic, which is quite rare. The breakfast selection was also quite rich. It felt a bit far from commercial and residential areas, making dining out a little inconvenient. This hotel is ideal for travelers who have ample time to slowly explore Daguan Park and the surrounding Dianchi Lake area.

The location is near the Daichi Lake, where we can watch and feed the seagulls in the evening. Very beautiful and nice experience for our kids and us. The hotel offers free drop-off at the Daichi Lake or other nearby locations. For Muslims, there are a few halal stalls at the night market in front of the Daichi Lake, and the bathroom is not see-through. The hotel has a lift, clean, spacious room that are also equipped with comfortable beds. The only issue we had was the distance to Kunming town. It is quite far from Kunming town. However, Didi is easy to get from here. The front desk staff is really helpful and accommodating.

The hotel is newly renovated and quite stylish. The breakfast, though a bit salty, was of good quality. It's very close to the park, which made exploring super convenient. The evening meditation was a unique touch. The housekeeping staff even helped clean my luggage, which was a nice gesture! Contacting the butler via WeChat was very handy. The only downside was the noisy big trucks outside my window late at night.

Situated in a peaceful area just 100–200 meters from the Ethnic Yunnan Village Park (also known as the Ethnic Minority Nationalitys Park), it allowed us to easily explore this cultural gem during a day trip, an experience we highly recommend. At the same time, the homestay is surrounded by quiet shops and local markets, making it both convenient and serene. What truly set this place apart was the outstanding hospitality. From the moment we arrived at the airport, the hosts went out of their way to assist us, even arranging a Didi taxi to ensure we reached the homestay smoothly. Their kindness didn’t stop there, they helped us purchase tickets for cultural attractions, found an English-speaking guide when our Mandarin wasn’t sufficient, and took care of countless other details that made our stay effortless. A highlight of our experience was Miss Zhang’s traditional Yunnan tea ceremonies. These sessions were not only a delight for the senses but also a wonderful opportunity to learn about the unique qualities of Yunnan teas and the art of brewing them. The atmosphere was relaxed and intimate, often joined by the owners, which led to lively, hours-long conversations filled with laughter and stories. It was these moments that made us feel like we were among friends rather than guests. We enjoyed our stay so much that we’ve already booked the same room for our return in a week. We can’t wait to be back in this haven of warmth, culture, and comfort. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic, memorable, and heartwarming experience in Kunming!

The owner was incredibly warm and attentive, proactively and patiently giving us detailed explanations about local attractions and recommending specialty restaurants popular with locals. Their tips were thorough and practical. The guesthouse provides daily breakfast with a rich variety of dishes, and the taste was excellent. The location is superb; right across the street is Haigeng Dam, offering absolutely stunning views. It's also very close to major popular scenic spots, and transportation is convenient, making getting around completely hassle-free. The room rates are affordable and budget-friendly, offering fantastic value for money overall. The thoughtful and attentive service throughout made us feel incredibly welcome, truly like a home away from home. The decoration of this room is really brand new! There are also many dining options downstairs, which is super convenient. Moreover, there is free parking here, which is so thoughtful! This kind of environment makes people live comfortably, eat happily, and travel conveniently. Whether it’s a short stay or a long-term stay, this is a good choice!

## Facilities: Although the interior facilities are a bit dated, they come with up-to-date features like electric curtain openers. ## Hygiene: Generally, the hygiene was good. The staff (front desk, housekeeping, and pool staff) were all very enthusiastic and responsible, offering me a lot of help. However, some corners and edges could use improvement, such as the large water stains on the balcony. ## Environment: The environment is quiet. While the location isn't exceptionally unique, it's convenient for getting to the train station and Dianchi Lake, and it's very peaceful for sleeping at night. ## Service: All the staff were very hardworking and enthusiastic. Thank you for all the help during my stay. We had two children, and they even gave them a hot spring ticket and a souvenir. Overall, this is an excellent choice for a family trip to Kunming.

I saw the high ratings for this guesthouse online, so I decided to book it just to see, and as soon as I arrived, I knew I'd made the right choice! 🥰 The room and environment were exactly as pictured online. The owner and their family were all very kind, and the courtyard was beautifully maintained and spotless. Every picture I took turned out lovely. Stepping in, you immediately feel a refreshing vibe. The breakfast was amazing – a great variety, delicious, and even delivered to the room, which was just perfect! The location is also fantastic. There's a small gate next to the guesthouse that leads right to a food street. It's just a two or three-minute walk to Haigeng Dam, so it was lovely to stroll there after dinner 🐶.
