MM319355****The location is easy to find, right by the road, and parking is convenient with an underground garage. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the shower was especially great – plenty of hot water and a good shower head. It even has smart home features. When the weather was good in the morning, the sunshine coming in was really pleasant. The front desk staff were also excellent! If I need a place to stay near the airport again, I'll definitely choose this hotel.

MM486750****The hotel is right next to the bustling Jinma Biji Square, and it's just across the road from Kunming Old Street commercial area and Nanqiang Night Market. The hotel staff are very attentive and proactive, and the breakfast is abundant with a wide variety of choices. Although the room isn't huge, it's actually quite comfortable to stay in. The soundproofing isn't great, but it's no worse than other hotels in the same category. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience. I would definitely book this hotel again if I'm ever in Wuhua District.

ZZYH0926I spent a few days touring Kunming and chose this hotel for my last night, and I was quite satisfied with the experience. It's right next to a subway station, which was convenient for my trip to Dounan Flower Market. The IELTS Restaurant on the 4th floor is very stylish, and the breakfast buffet was delicious. There's also a laundry room on the 11th floor. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Kunming.

11590101****The front desk staff were warm and efficient. We got an upgrade to a better room, which offered even more beautiful views of Kunming. The breakfast was a real local treat, with delicious grilled Erkuai, steamed Ersi, rice noodles, and Xidoufen (pea jelly). The cakes sold in the lobby were also very tasty and reasonably priced, with a buy-one-get-one-free offer after 6 PM. The only downside was that the room facilities were a bit old, but that's understandable for an older five-star hotel. It's only a 10-minute walk from Kunming Station. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kunming.

GGuest UserA very warm treasure hotel. Our family received souvenirs and welcome tea as soon as we arrived at the hotel, which was very ceremonial. Because there were not many tourists, the hotel seemed particularly secluded. Whether it was the private soup in the courtyard or the Pu'er tea, they were all of very high quality. The children enjoyed feeding the seagulls every day. The food was a little simple during the Spring Festival. A male waiter in the restaurant (forgot his name) was very enthusiastic. The green vegetables were all from the hotel's own vegetable garden, which was very natural. The back door of the hotel leads directly to Yangzonghai Shijiazui Park, and the scenery is invincible. In short, I was very satisfied. Thanks to the housekeeper for his meticulous service. Five-star praise. Recommended to travelers who like to relax and get close to nature.

MM267008****Excellent! It's super convenient to get around from here. I stayed here last year too and was completely satisfied. The snack street, farmer's market, Cuihu Lake, and Yunnan University are all pretty close by. Time to eat to my heart's content, haha!

LLuxiangbeibeiMy friend highly recommended this place, saying the area is fantastic and super convenient, and the shuttle service was a huge plus. The shuttle service to/from the South High-Speed Rail Station was excellent. Overall, the service was truly impeccable, and there are plenty of great dining options nearby. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip.

MM32146****This is a genuine review. Kunming was my first stop, and after comparing various hotels, I finally settled on the newly opened JEN Hotel. Before my trip, customer service had already connected with me on WeChat and even arranged a complimentary room upgrade. As a Shangri-La property, the lobby was pretty standard, but the detail of having staff available to help with luggage on weekdays was a nice touch. However, I couldn't shake off the disappointment once I entered the room. The room itself was tiny; it felt like I was in super-dense Hong Kong, not Kunming. The bathroom layout made me feel like I was in some factory dorm—no bathtub, not even a rain shower. The showerhead kept slipping, and the water pressure was weak. Despite such a small bathroom, the ventilation was poor, so smells lingered for ages. The room layout was also peculiar; the sink was right next to the luggage rack, so washing my face meant splashing my clothes simultaneously. When I inquired about this, the staff's response was that they target young business travelers. If that's the case, why was the room clock broken? It made me feel quite unsettled. I had planned to visit their SUMA Lounge, but after this experience, I decided against it—I didn't want to be disappointed in the same place twice. I used Ctrip's deposit-free guarantee, so I'm not sure why I was still asked for a deposit at check-in. Finally, the pool and gym are probably the highlights, assuming you can find time to work out while traveling.

GGuest UserThe hotel is newly renovated, the room is very comfortable, there is a snack street downstairs, it is convenient, the hotel service is very good, and it is also very close to the high-speed rail. Relatively speaking, it is comfortable to stay and the experience is good. You can choose this hotel if you are transiting nearby!

PPsymondDespite the convenient location, comfortable beds, and all-important quiet sleep we managed to get, the hotel's communication to arrange our pick up from the train station at night and what turned out to be a self-check-in was just dismal, clearly needing more training to ensure better organisation for future guests. The following constructive advice is to help the hotel improve and for (particularly foreign) guests to note: 1. Ask for guests' phone number and inform the driver well in advance of our arrival, instead of waiting till the very last minute to do so. We reached out to the hotel via WeChat the day before and rightfully received detailed instructions (in Chinese) to find the driver (the pick up service is actually outsourced to a separate company using 3 different vans), but once we found the van, the driver angrily insisted we call the hotel to identify us by confirming our phone number - we were not allowed to board without the hotel's confirmation, which should have been done directly with the driver well in advance of our arrival. 2. This hotel is not manned after hours, let alone 24 hours, so please make it known well beforehand that we will have to check in ourselves if arriving after hours, and provide clear instructions on how to do so instead of communicating them through the phone while guiding us using the security cameras. It is not the guests' responsibility to do your administrative work (to report ourselves to the authorities by scanning the police QR code and filling out our details) at 11 o'clock at night when we have an early morning train to catch the following day. The hotel should allow guests to enter the room as soon as possible upon arrival, not have us wait half an hour while they struggle with what was clearly their first time checking in foreign guests - worse still over the phone - insisting that this be done before we could enter our room. 3. If the hotel truly wants the patronage of foreign guests, they will have to prioritise our convenience and comfort over theirs by actually having someone check us in in-person. Remotely doing so to save costs is as absurd as expecting foreign guests to communicate our details over the phone, sending photos of ourselves, our passport details etc. via WeChat, and then finding our room card and the room by talking to someone over the phone in Chinese. At the very least, these requirements and instructions should be clearly produced and communicated beforehand so that nothing is improvised. We hope the above experience helps improve what is a decent hotel providing good value for money.
