4-Star Hotels in Kunming

Facilities: The hotel opened this year, so everything is super clean and the facilities are all brand new. We arrived in Kunming at night, and it's really close to Kunming Station, within walking distance, which was very convenient. Ambiance: The environment is also excellent. We checked in around midnight, and the kids were too tired, so I didn't get a chance to take photos. But as soon as we walked in, it felt so beautiful, like stepping into a cafe 🥰. Service: The service was absolutely top-notch. The ladies helped us with our luggage, gave little gifts to the kids, and even showed us to our room. So thoughtful ❤️. (It's a shame I only took this one photo...)

A great and comfortable hotel! Location: The hotel is directly opposite Daguan Park and Yu Garden, so we could start exploring right after checking in on the first day! It's also a quick taxi ride to Cuihu Park/Jiaochang Middle Road, usually around 20 minutes. It's about 45 minutes from the airport and roughly 40 minutes from Dounan Flower Market. Ambiance: Located by Dianchi Lake, it's very quiet overall. The room was incredibly clean, equipped with smart home devices, and ordering takeout was super convenient. We could order things like 'Zhen Tan Fried Chicken' or 'Shang Shan He Cha' (tea) and a robot would deliver them to our room. The hotel also offers sound bowl meditation classes in the evening, which I tried and found very therapeutic~ Service: The service was excellent. The staff at the front desk were all very kind and gentle. They even proactively helped us with our luggage when we took a taxi to the airport, which was incredibly helpful. Plus, breakfast runs until 10:30 AM and offers both Chinese and Western options. During my two-day stay, I tried the rolled noodles and rice noodles, both were delicious, and I especially loved the accompanying mushrooms. Overall, a very satisfying trip! I'll definitely consider staying here again next time I'm in Kunming, haha!

This hotel was a stopover for my return flight from Kunming the next day. I originally planned to book a different hotel, but I saw the good reviews and decided to go with this one for its value for money. It was indeed a good choice. It's newly renovated, and the facilities are very new, not inferior to other hotels. It's quite noisy near the airport at night, and the neighbors were also loud, but they provided earplugs, which was great. For breakfast, there were four stir-fried dishes. The dining area was small and very cramped. Lower-priced hotels tend to attract guests who hog seats and grab food... Finally, this was the only hotel that didn't call me before check-in, and I thought that was that. But after checking out, they called me for a good review... The environment is decent, but the service doesn't quite measure up and can't compare to other hotels.

A relatively new hotel. Perfect for a overnight stay for people rushing to the high speed the next morning. Room was big and comfortable. We booked for the non smoking level but there is an ashtray on the living room table and u can smell cigarette smoke along corridor. Really wished this country makes more effort in advocating for non smoking despite signs beinf put up. We managed to search for a little night market, Shilin night market about 10 mins taxi ride away from the hotel. Maybe hotel can provide more information about places around for tourists. It is also a short walking distance to the metro which is linked to high speed as well. Managed to book the free pick up from high speed to hotel however the next day's hotel to high speed is already fully booked. We also didn't managed to have breakfast due to timing of our high speed.

The room was clean and thoughtfully designed, offering both comfort and functionality. The staff were polite, friendly, and always willing to help. Appreciated the complimentary airport pickup service with special thanks to Mr Wu, our driver for his professional service. We especially enjoyed the wide variety of breakfast options and the complimentary sweet night soup, which was a delightful touch to end the day. A special shout-out to 啊黑哥小万, our driver, for his professionalism and hospitality. He took good care of us throughout our day trip in Kunming, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience.

Booking a Hilton is always a great choice. The front desk is on the 26th floor, and you can check out on the 1st floor, though it seems you can't check in there. The room facilities were as expected, and any requests during my stay were met with a positive response. I bought flowers from the Dounan market, and when I stored my luggage before leaving, the front desk attendant on the first floor was very considerate and helped me find the best possible spot to store them. My only minor complaint is that the stone balls and railings at the hotel entrance are too close together, making it a bit difficult to walk. Perhaps they could negotiate with the management to adjust this.

Hotel is located among the higher end residential area. The road along the hotel is lined with pretty jacaranda trees. It’s less than 1 km walk from modern Tongde Kunming mall with nice restaurants and Baiyun train station via an underground shopping stretch. Donghua market is also nearby at 2+ km away. Service is good. It was non peak period and we were given a room upgrade and accommodated a late check out. Cleaners are very friendly. Room is well cleaned with no smell even though corridor and reception area sometimes smell of smoke. The carpet may need a good wash. The breakfast buffet spread is wide. Cooked food quality is excellent especially the rose pastry and fried rice. They are more delicious and fresher than those we bought outside the hotel. The 2 ladies at the cafe are friendly and very helpful. The laundry area is located before the cafe on 2nd floor. There are only 2 washing machines and dryers which are usually busy in the morning and evening. In the evening, the area outside the laundry area is dark as the cafe is closed and not lighted up.

I absolutely loved this hotel in every aspect. The service was attentive and meticulous, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was incredibly rich and varied. Plus, they even extend breakfast until 1:30 PM, which is a huge bonus! The value for money is exceptional, and the location is very convenient for transportation. I highly recommend it and will definitely choose this hotel again for my next business trip.

The hotel facilities are complete, clean, and hygienic. The front desk service is professional, meticulous, and patiently explained everything. The room is comfortable. Every service detail in the hotel reflects the staff's thoughtfulness towards guests, making every guest feel the warmth of home. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to MixC. It's a 10-minute walk to Donghua Farmers Market, and not far from the old town. Next time I go to Kunming, I'll definitely stay at Four Points by Sheraton again.

Had an early flight the next morning, so I chose the Mercure at the airport and was very pleased. The room was clean, tidy, comfortable, and cozy. I really liked the French romantic decor, and it was great value for money. My only suggestion would be for the shower pressure to be a bit stronger. Overall, a great impression of Kunming!
