Anonymous UserThis hotel was the crucial foundation for our perfect trip to Kunming. I booked it last minute without much research, as I usually prefer chain hotels but couldn't find a suitable room. I saw this one had a room available at a very reasonable price, so I went for it, and it certainly didn't disappoint. You wouldn't believe how amazing it was for a family of three to have two sinks, two toilets, and two showers! The service was also excellent; the front desk staff were super enthusiastic and helped us with our luggage upon arrival. The best part, though, was their complimentary laundry service. It's not just a self-service washer and dryer; you simply put your clothes (excluding intimates) in a basket, leave it outside your door, notify the housekeeper, and when you open your door the next day, clean clothes are waiting! Coming back to the hotel after shopping until 11 PM and not having to worry about laundry was an absolute godsend! (Germaphobes, you might want to skip this one). The hotel's location is also fantastic, very close and convenient to all the downtown attractions. All in all, highly, highly, highly recommend!

Anonymous UserAn absolutely delightful stay!
The hotel boasts an elegant environment, right next to Yu Garden, offering a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle – a perfect location for those who love a relaxing getaway.
The service was exceptionally warm and refined. Whether it was the front desk, the restaurant, or room service, everything was impeccable, making us feel right at home and utterly comfortable.
The breakfast spread was incredibly rich, featuring local specialties, and the dishes offered a different selection each day.
I must also mention that getting around is super convenient. Taxis are readily available and quick, and it's easy to walk out for meals.
Initially, I booked for two days, but I loved it so much that I promptly extended my stay for another four days. The pleasant surprise was that the hotel generously upgraded my room!

Guest UserThe room is spacious, equipped with a coffee machine and microwave. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, the water temperature is stable, and the shower head is large enough. The smart toilet has a bidet function. The washing and drying machines on the second floor are Haier brand. The breakfast offers a good variety of Chinese and Western options, and the staff are very helpful; they even allow take-away breakfast. Thumbs up! 👍🏻👍🏻

Tedi WareSome aspects of my stay were excellent but a few things were terrible. I will mention the good things first. The room was large, beautiful and gave a beautiful view of the sunset. The bathroom was superb indeed and the bathroom amenities were superior as was the shower, toilet and everything associated with the bathroom. The problems were as follow: There was no dining facilities in the hotel to eat dinner and I was very hungry after traveling 12 hours by train from Shanghai. I had to walk very far to get to the area that has restaurants and food kiosks. When I returned to the hotel with some food that needed refrigeration, I discovered the refrigerator in my room was not working. I called for service and the worker who came to check said the refrigerator was broken and could not be replaced. this was a big problem since I needed to refrigerate the only food I had purchased. Finally, another staff came to my room and discovered the refrigerator was in fact , not broken. It was not plugged in properly so that problem was finally resolved after a very long time. The worst thing was the bed. It was so hard, it was painful to lay down on it and impossible to sleep on it. I called the desk for help and they told me that they did not have a softer mattress to give me. The mattress was as hard as concrete and I was desperate to sleep. A staff member came up with a suitable solution. She brought several duvets and covered the hard mattress with them--placing them one on top of another until I was finally able to lay down on the bed without experiencing pain. It was very late in the middle of the night before I was finally able to lay down on the bed and go to sleep.
In summary, the room itself was excellent and the bathroom was superior. Unfortunately, the mattress was entirely unacceptable and impossible to sleep upon. It was also very disappointing that the worker did not know how to. get the refrigerator to work properly but his superior knew immediately what the problem was. Much time was wasted until she resolved the problem. The worker should have been more knowledgeable and competent.

I've been to Kunming many times and have stayed at many hotels near Kunming Airport. This was my first time driving here and also my first time choosing Mercure.
First off, the service attitude, whether from the front desk or the housekeeping staff, was quite good. The front desk even came over to change my room when they saw my request to be away from the elevator, which was very considerate. They also provided a breakfast box for my early morning airport transfer.
The room wasn't big but it was very well-appointed. The air conditioning was very cool, and the minibar was well-stocked.
The parking lot looked large, but parking spaces were actually quite tight.
The hotel is close to the airport, less than a 10-minute drive. Some airplane noise from takeoffs and landings is normal and manageable. However, I wonder if the noise from the room's own air conditioning could be addressed?
Many parts of the showerhead in the bathroom were loose. I'm not sure if the housekeeping supervisor thoroughly checks the rooms.
It took a long time for hot water to come through in both the shower and the sink. I hope this can be improved.
The walk from the front desk to the elevator was quite convoluted and hard to find for first-time guests. Plus, the hallway was very stuffy and hot.

Guest UserHad a fantastic stay! We arrived early, and Rachel from the front desk saw that there were already clean rooms available and helped us check in right away. The room was very spacious, with new facilities and excellent soundproofing. The cleanliness and overall environment were also great, especially the bathroom, which was incredibly roomy. It was so refreshing to take a shower there after walking over 17,000 steps. The hotel's laundry room was also very convenient; my pants got wet in the rain yesterday in Kunming, so I washed and dried them there overnight and was able to wear them again today. The breakfast selection was extensive; I rarely see cold brew at hotel buffets, and the quality of everything was top-notch. Before leaving, I even picked up a package from the Hive smart locker in the small garden in front of the lobby. Unfortunately, I had to catch a high-speed train, so I didn't have time to try out the hotel's gym.

Overall, it was genuinely great. I stayed here with my parents and child, and the beds were quite large. The breakfast was plentiful; though I didn't get to try it, my parents did and they were very happy, which made me happy too.
The front desk staff was excellent. When my child wasn't feeling well, they told us which hospital to go to, and all our questions and issues were communicated and resolved promptly.
The hotel also has a laundry room.
It was a pleasant stay, and the location was convenient for getting everywhere. Really good!

Unbeatable location, top-notch facilities, and a perfect stay! I stayed for two nights and was extremely satisfied! The location is superb; you can walk directly to Kunming Old Street and Nanping Pedestrian Street as soon as you step out, making dining and getting around incredibly convenient. The hotel room was clean and tidy, with smart amenities. The soundproofing and bedding were excellent, ensuring I slept very well both nights. The service was warm and attentive, and the breakfast was diverse and delicious. It offers incredible value for money. Five-star rating! Highly recommended!
