Facilities: The onsen is a traditional Japanese hot spring. While the outdoor bath doesn't offer scenic views, the water temperature was perfect. We stayed in a Japanese-style room this time. The occupancy was low, so it was peaceful and uncrowded. Cleanliness: It was spotless and met all standards. Environment: The location is fantastic! It's right next to Senjojiki and just a 3-5 minute walk from the only small restaurant in the vicinity.

Facilities: Typical Marriott standard. I specifically booked a Japanese-Western style room to experience it, and indeed, the combination was a bit 'unusual'. The good thing is the tatami area can be used to store a lot of items! Cleanliness: Tidy and clean. Environment: Although many people complain about the 'hill' issue, since we took taxis up and down, I didn't feel the need to complain much. Walking up and down the slope without luggage can indeed be a bit tiring, but I just took it as exercise (I can understand other reviewers' complaints). Service: Very good! We arrived at Shirahama Station around 8 PM, and there were no buses, so we had to wait for a taxi. It was raining and snowing, and no taxi came for a long time, leaving us shivering from the cold… I called the hotel to ask if they could pick us up, and the lady at the front desk quickly arranged for a colleague to pick us up from the station! I'm very grateful for their 'help in time of need'! (No charge) Also, the front desk reception, breakfast guidance, and greetings were all very warm and friendly 👍 A good stay overall!

It is very close to the three-section wall and the Millennium Shiba, and it takes only a few minutes to walk. The hotel's breakfast and dinner are very good, the front desk service is also very good, the water in the soup is mountain spring water, you can see the leaves. I like this hotel very much and I will go next time.

Advantages: The hotel is located right next to Sandanbeki, and it is almost the last stop of the Shirahama Meiko bus line. It is a good value for money. If you stayed at Kaishu the night before, you can stay at Sandanya the next night to make up for the price difference. The bed in the Japanese-style room is soft and comfortable, and there is enough space to spread out the suitcase. The rooms are on the second floor, with a toilet and a shower on the first floor. The kitchen and tea bar are also on the first floor, with tableware and wine glasses. Bicycles can be rented. The boss speaks English and is very enthusiastic. Disadvantages: There is no food around at night! If you are hungry, there are only instant noodles, mixed noodles, instant curry rice, pasta, some peanut chips and other snacks on the first floor of the hotel. It is recommended to buy some food at the convenience store below and bring it up.

There are all the necessary utensils. The only thing is that we couldn't adjust the shower for a long time - the temperature is cool. There are many shops nearby. The ocean is a 10-minute walk away. Very friendly guys at the reception.

Even though it's a century-old establishment, the rooms are surprisingly spacious and bright. Both the kaiseki dinner and the breakfast buffet were excellent value for money, and the service was very satisfying. They also have staff who speak Chinese. One of the most convenient highlights of staying here is that the bus stop is right outside the hotel, making getting around incredibly easy. We've already stayed here three times and will definitely be back again.

While the dining options are quite varied, the Japanese cuisine isn't among the best, and the ingredient selection is just average. There are some seafood restaurants nearby that can offer a good alternative.

I had a wonderful stay here and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shirahama for a relaxing getaway. First off, the location is fantastic. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and after taking bus #12 from Shirahama JR Station, you get off directly at the hotel. The hotel staff are very welcoming and were at the entrance to help with luggage – super friendly! Across the street from the hotel is Shirarahama Beach, which is stunning whether it's cloudy or sunny. The white sand paired with the blue ocean is a real treat for the eyes. Shirahama is very quiet at night, and shops close early, but within a five-minute walk, there's a FamilyMart, Lawson, and a 24-hour supermarket. So, if you need snacks or drinks, these are great options. The hotel also has a microwave on the first floor for heating food. You can even buy fireworks at the supermarket to enjoy on the beach. Room: The room was very spacious with plenty of space and directly faced the beach. During my two-day stay, I spent time just relaxing in the room, watching the sunset, observing people on the beach, or heading downstairs to cross the road and lie on the beach or play in the water. It was incredibly relaxing for both my mind and body. The room had both a bathtub and a shower. The bathtub was right next to the balcony, so you could soak while enjoying the view. The hotel also has indoor hot springs, but unfortunately, I couldn't use them. Service: Most of the staff were middle-aged men and women, very kind and gentle. There was also a Chinese-speaking girl with a particularly soft voice who always greeted me with a smile. The service was excellent. Although breakfast was the same every day, it tasted quite good. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay and would definitely choose Sanrakuso again if I come back to Shirahama.
