I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
I am a patient with uremia, and I wanted to travel one last time in my final days. Everything else about my trip was wonderful, but on the day of check-out, I suddenly felt breathless and experienced severe discomfort in my chest. I called the front desk to request a late check-out of just two hours, and I was fully willing to pay any extra fees for the extension.
However, the front desk staff was extremely cold and unkind. They simply stated that the room was fully booked and that I had to leave immediately, with no flexibility whatsoever.
While the hotel’s location is good, the front desk service has been indifferent from the very beginning. When I first checked in and greeted them with “how are you?”, they ignored me completely. During check-out, the staff also struggled to understand basic English, creating obvious language barriers.
If you are a person with health conditions or medical needs, PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, very close to Tenjin Station and the commercial district. With two convenience stores nearby, shopping and getting around are incredibly convenient. While the hotel is a bit older, the rooms are surprisingly spacious, allowing ample room to open luggage, and felt quite comfortable. The breakfast buffet was a definite highlight – plentiful and delicious. We stayed for three consecutive nights, but room cleaning was only performed every other day. The front desk and service staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, even assisting us with our luggage to the room during check-in. The only minor downside was ongoing construction directly across the street, which resulted in some noticeable vibration noises audible from the room.

Excellent service from the hotel! They allowed us to leave our luggage for two nights even before checking in (as we’re taking a trip out of Fukuoka). Room is spacious for a Japan hotel standard. Only downside was the curtains that doesn’t seem to be blackout curtains. Breakfast has a decent spread! Convenient location but the nearest subway exit to the hotel does not have a lift / escalator though! The famous full full bakery and shin shin ramen ar just a few mins walk from the hotel.

Perfect for solo and business traveller. Single bed in a private room. Good price. Central. Breakfast is amazing. Has takeout boxes so if you're train traveling, it's better than most ekibens. They actually change the breakfast ingredients half way, so bean seaweed salad became roasted eggplant, etc

I stayed here for two nights right after landing in Fukuoka, and even as a solo traveler, the room felt incredibly cramped. I quickly switched hotels on the third day.
The room was tiny and dated, giving off a vibe reminiscent of a guesthouse from the last century. You basically stepped out of the door and were immediately at the bed. My suitcase could only perch precariously on a folding luggage rack.
The cleanliness was mediocre. The bathroom seemed quite clean and looked like it had been thoroughly scrubbed, but the room walls were very dirty with black marks. It wasn't until I opened my suitcase and its wheels rubbed against the wall that I realized where those black marks came from.
Even though it was a non-smoking floor, the air in the room wasn't great. After just one night, my tonsils became inflamed. Those with sensitivities should definitely avoid this place.
Toiletries and bathrobes were self-service in the lobby downstairs. The small packets of toner and lotion were surprisingly good, and the compressed exfoliating mitt was also quite useful. Drinking water wasn't provided, but there was a self-service laundry room.
The hotel's location is pretty good, though. Le Labo is directly across the street, and there are many trendy shops and restaurants nearby. Tenjin shopping district is also within walking distance. It was quite cheap when I booked it, so I won't complain too much. It's suitable for backpackers.

Extremely satisfied with this stay! 👍 I've stayed at this hotel's Ginza location in Tokyo before, and this was my first time at the Fukuoka Tenjin hotel. The room was cozy, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious! The bathtub 🛁 was large enough for a relaxing soak. Downstairs there's a 24-hour sushi restaurant, and a 7-Eleven right in the building – so convenient! I'll definitely be back to stay again! Highly recommend!

The room is quite small, and it’s a bit difficult for two people to open their suitcases at the same time — we had to take turns. Other than that, everything was very good. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. I had seen reviews mentioning ikura, but it wasn’t available during my stay, which was a little disappointing. Still, I was overall very impressed.
Hotel Mei is located close to Tenjin, Nakasu, Canal City, and other major tourist attractions in Hakata, yet in a calm atmosphere slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is a lifestyle hotel that provides a comfortable experience for all who visit the hotel, not only as a base for sightseeing in Hakata, but also through its comfortable guest rooms, café lounge with a unique food culture, and local collaborations created together with local residents.
An amenity bar has been installed in consideration of the environment.

Traveling solo in Fukuoka, the hotel's location was decent. The room size was moderate, not huge but good for Japan. Transportation wasn't as convenient as I'd imagined, though Tenjin and Canal City Hakata were indeed within walking distance, even if it was a bit tiring. The biggest plus is the hotel's ground-floor cafe – their summer shaved ice and crepes were absolutely delicious! There are also plenty of great restaurants nearby, so foodies should definitely stay here. On another note, both the front desk and cafe staff were very stylish, all young, handsome guys and pretty girls. The short-haired girl at the front desk particularly reminded me of Riisa Naka (Gou-chan), very cute! Overall, I highly recommend this place for solo travelers or couples.

The front desk staff were very welcoming, and the location is excellent. The only minor issue is that the bathroom exhaust fan doesn't have a separate switch, so if you're sensitive to noise, you'll need to ask the front desk to turn it off. Overall, it's a great place and highly recommended.

Amazing
GGuest UserAfter two unbearable nights in a tiny 14-square-meter hotel, I made a last-minute switch to One Fukuoka. I heard it was the top hotel in Fukuoka, so I wanted to give it a try.
The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of the Tenjin shopping district. You can step out and immediately start shopping, with Daimaru, PARCO, and Mitsukoshi all within walking distance.
As soon as you enter the ONE FUKUOKA BLDG, you're greeted by a subtle, very soothing botanical scent. The hotel is next to an office building, so you need to look for it a bit, then take the elevator up to the 19th floor for check-in.
The room is incredibly spacious. Fitting several suitcases isn't an issue, and there's even a dedicated luggage stand inside for organizing your belongings. It has a living room and a terrace directly facing The Ritz-Carlton. With double sinks and a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom, what more could you ask for in terms of space in Japan?
The hotel is very new, and both the bed and pillows have just the right firmness. The air in the room is fresh; after one night, I didn't get my usual rhinitis, and I even achieved an unprecedented deep sleep of over an hour. Besides the usual amenities, they also provide cotton pads, hair ties, mouthwash, socks, and bath towels. The mini-bar selection is also very rich and completely free – I drank to my heart's content.
The only minor flaw I found was a small ring-shaped nail on the carpet, which looked like it might have fallen off a keychain or something similar. It made me feel like the room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned, but overall, the cleanliness was acceptable and not dirty.
There's a library bar and lounge on the guest room floor, offering unlimited complimentary drinks and desserts (they even have ice cream!). I regretted only staying for one night.
The hotel's overall style reminds me a lot of The Sukhothai Shanghai – therapeutic, serene, and natural, but with a slightly more homely feel than Sukhothai. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Fukuoka!
SScottOverall, my stay was excellent. The hotel itself is relatively new, with a fresh and clean environment. Although the room wasn't huge, it was well-designed and kept impeccably clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist promptly with any issues – their service was truly on point.
What I loved most was the location. It's incredibly convenient for getting around, with plenty of dining options nearby, making it easy to eat and shop. Canal City Hakata is also very close, within walking distance, which is fantastic whether you're exploring or just need to get somewhere. It made everything hassle-free.
Considering everything, it offers great value for money – clean, convenient, and with excellent service. It's a fantastic choice for accommodation when traveling, and I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.
GGuest UserThe room met my expectations, and the bathroom was very clean and spacious. The breakfast quality was excellent, with a wide variety of choices. The hotel design is beautiful, and the common areas are large. You can self-serve toiletries near the front desk, and the staff are very friendly. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in Fukuoka!
GGuest UserThe hotel is clean, staff are friendly and helpful. Onsen is my favourite and it’s very nice and clean. Love their evening free ramen too. We also use their laundry a few times cos of the sweated clothes and their detergent smells really good!
AAnonymous UserStayed at Oriental Hotel Fukuoka Hakata Station and had a really pleasant experience. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Hakata Station, which made travelling around very convenient.
The room was clean and well-maintained, and the facilities were great. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay, providing good service and making us feel comfortable.
Overall, everything from cleanliness to service met expectations. It’s definitely a good choice for anyone visiting Fukuoka, whether for leisure or family trips. Would consider staying here again!
GGuest UserPros: We had two adults and two children, and after confirming by phone, they added two more beds for us.
This was truly the most mediocre hotel of our trip, and we stayed for two nights. The disposable toiletries were especially bad. The hot spring had only one pool, and it was packed with Koreans, which made the experience really unpleasant.
We checked in on January 1st and tried to cancel on the 30th to book the Hilton near the Dome, but they wouldn't let us cancel. Oh well, I guess it was an experience. They couldn't arrange hotel parking for us either of the two days, even though it didn't seem like there were that many cars. I guess the parking lot must be small. The hotel's location is actually very good; it's a convenient 5-10 minute drive to the Ichiran main store, Hakata Bridge, and Nakasu. There are also several shopping districts nearby, which is nice. If you're looking for a good stay experience, I don't recommend this place. But if convenience is your priority, it's not bad.
YYaoyao0905The hotel's location is fantastic, just a few dozen meters from the Chikushi Exit of Hakata Station, with a Lawson convenience store right next door. Super convenient for transportation.
The room is a bit small, but the layout is decent. You can open both a medium and a small suitcase simultaneously.
The window can open a crack, but there's no view.
There's a Starbucks at the station, making breakfast a breeze. You can also find bakeries and coffee shops on the Hakata Exit side.
GGuest UserThe hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Higashi-Hie subway station on the airport line, and it's just one stop to Hakata Station. There's a 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, and a drugstore nearby, so it's really convenient. The hotel lobby has a lovely European library feel, and the rooms are very spacious. Plus, you get complimentary Italian illy capsule coffee.
SsmolsquirrelThe room was quite small for 3 people. Overall the room is pretty clean. The location is quite far away from the train especially when dragging our luggages. Really love the onsen at the hotel.
GGuest UserHad a great experience. Check-in was done via a self-service machine. The front desk was manned by two 'dinosaurs' (a playful way to describe the staff, possibly implying they were a bit slow or old-fashioned, but in a charming way) who could speak four languages. There was a slight hiccup with the booking process as I had reserved two rooms under one order, but a quick call for human assistance resolved it promptly. The space is very efficiently utilized, and all the amenities are from Refa. Luggage storage was super convenient. The shower pressure was excellent, and there are many convenience stores nearby. It's not far from the subway, and you step out right onto the Hakata Canal, which offers a lovely view.
