"Stepping into this hotel felt like going back in time to The Great Gatsby. It's probably the most luxurious hotel I've stayed at in Osaka. They really made good use of the public spaces, and the Peacock Alley is simply stunning – I could admire it all day. The front desk staff spoke fluent English, which made communication quite easy. Contrary to what I read online, the standard room was perfectly fine. I was given a high floor, and the room was spacious, well-divided, with plenty of space for luggage. The twin room had two queen-sized beds (1.5 meters each), making it very family-friendly. The downsides were the low water pressure in the bathroom and the water not getting hot enough. They provided Aesop amenities, and the ginger scent was lovely. The breakfast was a bit disappointing. It was semi-buffet style with limited variety, and the main courses were quite uninspired, not really matching the room rate. I do recommend the French toast among the main dishes, it was excellent. The biggest issue was the long queues, which really detracted from the experience. The hotel's location is quite good. Directly downstairs is Green Place with a wide variety of dining options, and Ushigoro is on the third floor. You can walk to department stores like Hanshin, but taking a taxi is more convenient for Hankyu."

"The hotel is located between Shichome and Morinomiya, about a 10-minute walk to both subway stations. You can take a bus to Umeda, and it's very close to Osaka Castle. Dining options nearby are limited, with a few cafes and sushi restaurants that all close after 10 PM. There are no convenience stores in the immediate vicinity; the closest ones are near the subway stations. However, there are plenty of vending machines in Japan, so getting water is easy. There's no airport shuttle service, and I didn't encounter any staff who spoke Chinese. Nevertheless, the check-in process was very smooth. The breakfast was quite extensive, primarily Western-style with some Chinese dim sum. It's semi-buffet; drinks and some dishes need to be ordered using the QR code on the table, which brings up a Chinese menu. The restaurant environment is very pleasant. There seemed to be a teppanyaki section, but I didn't try it."

Embodying Osaka’s rise as a global city, the luxury Four Seasons Hotel Osaka forms the core of a new lifestyle destination at the heart of western Japan’s biggest city and the region’s hub of commerce and culture. As the city’s new icon of luxury and style, Four Seasons provides a pitch-perfect modern take on the quintessential ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) with a range of unique, immersive experiences that deliver a true sense of Japan. From our entire floor of meticulously designed Japanese-inspired guest rooms to our private ofuro (traditional baths), Four Seasons is a contemporary portal to the authentic heart of Osaka, immersing you in the city’s intriguing blend of heritage and modernity.

"I was very grateful for the introduction on the 28th-floor corridor upon check-in. The whole process was excellent, from the introduction of upcoming activities to the excellent service on the 28th-floor corridor, including the serving of drinks and refreshments. They also thoughtfully prepared a cake and a handwritten thank-you note for my birthday in the room, which I really appreciated. Furthermore, due to my mother's illness, she might not be able to travel, and their follow-up email response was excellent. However, due to an urgent need to leave for Hong Kong that evening, the receptionist at the door didn't assist with loading my luggage into the car; I had to ask at the door myself, and my own driver came out to help. This was a point deduction. Given the Four Seasons Hotel's reputation, I feel that their service could be improved in these minor areas."

"This hotel, once a magnificent building, perfectly embodies the concept of 'chrysanthemum and sword' from Ruth Benedict's book, blending English elegance (chrysanthemum) with Japanese precision (sword). Its story and impact far exceed that of an ordinary hotel, reflecting the twilight glow of a bygone empire."

"Pros: The hotel's location is superb. You can directly access the lobby from the subway without even exiting the station. Step downstairs and you're ready to explore. Daimaru Department Store and the pedestrian street are right across the road, making it incredibly convenient for shopping. The views from the higher floors of the hotel are also excellent. Cons: Check-in is handled centrally and often involves queues. The lobby itself has very limited seating. The main road outside is bustling, but at night, modified cars and motorcycles create a lot of noise, which is quite noticeable even on the higher floors. Highlight - On the first night, we asked the front desk for earplugs, and the staff member was very nice and thoughtful. However, on the second night, when we went to the front desk for earplugs again, the staff had changed and their attitude was terrible. At first, they said they didn't provide earplugs. When we mentioned they did the night before, they checked and then claimed they were out of stock. Their entire demeanor was impatient and I strongly suspect they were being dishonest. One star."

"This isn't a typical tourist town, but it has many hidden gem shops. SAKAINOMA Guesthouse does a great job with this, providing a detailed map. Upgrading the chairs in the lobby's common area would add a touch of luxury. The hotel is surrounded by filming locations for many TV shows and movies; it would be great if they could provide guests with a 'must-visit' checklist. There wasn't much meat available for breakfast. It would be a pleasant surprise if they converted two public bathrooms on the higher floors of the bay-view side. Overall, the price and experience are well worth it. Down by the train station, there's Yokozuna Ramen, Starbucks, Komeda, and a medium-sized supermarket, which offers discounted wagyu beef in the evenings."

Centara Grand Hotel Osaka is a new landmark in Namba- a vibrant entertainment and shopping district with a rooftop restaurant at a height of 134 meters

"This hotel is super close to Namba Station, which is a major transportation hub. It's a new hotel with very new facilities. The room is a bit small but very well-designed, and the bedding is really comfortable. The hotel has a very 'Thai' scent, which is quite unique. It seems they don't usually offer free room upgrades, but when I arrived, the front desk proactively offered a discounted upgrade. The hotel is also very near to Takashimaya and other shopping spots. The Namba area is great for exploring, and you can get to Umeda in just four subway stops. Definitely worth staying here!"

"The pros are its location right next to the subway station, a dedicated luggage room, and even a luggage scale. Plus, the hotel's hot spring bath was incredibly relaxing, and after a soak, you could head up to the rooftop to enjoy the views. The cons are that the room was truly, truly, truly tiny – a 28-inch suitcase had no space to open up. Also, this is the first time I've encountered a hotel of this star rating that didn't provide coffee or tea bags in the room. Ironically, there was an empty tea caddy in the room :("

Swissôtel Nankai Osaka is a 5-star premium hotel in the city centre Namba, with direct access to Kansai International Airport, subway and bus stations to Osaka and Japan, and walking distance to Osaka's major tourist attractions. Offering Swiss hospitality with Japanese omotenashi, the family leisure and business hotel offers 546 rooms and suites with Swiss Executive Lounge, dedicated parking and diverse dining options with five restaurants, three bars, and a café serving local and international cuisine.

"It's located in Namba which is one of the busiest and exciting neighborhoods in Osaka. Direct train to KIX in the same building is the biggest plus. Dotonbori is only 10 min walk away. We had an amazing sushi dinner a few mins from the hotel. You never get hungry staying there. Front desk staff speak very good English. If you opt out of breakfast, the cafe on 3rd floor facing express train station is an excellent choice for coffee and pastries. A few min walk there an excellent brunch cafe that opens at 8 am. If you arrive by train from Kyoto/Nara, it's a little past to n navigate to the hotel. Just get to the 3rd floor first around Takashimaya. Signage is mucus easier from there. Rooms are spacious. We picked the renovated room Swiss Select. It's absolutely worth paying a little bit more. I'll definitely stay there again should I be visiting Osaka in the future."
