Maltahöhe Hotel

We stayed in the Maltahohe Hotel for 3 nights. It was a perfect location for various trips. The rooms are very nice and we enjoyed the delicious dinner and breakfast. The hotel bar is really great and we had great talks to our host. Highly recommended!

We felt at jhome the mpoment from arrival. Management very involved. Although very old everything was well maintained. Dinner was good as well as breakfast. Managers/owners very friendly and join in conersations with giuests.

I wasnt expecting much when we got to the hotel on a hot afternoon. When I opened the front door and went in, that all changed. It is a beautiful old building full of Africana as well as a bar that can only arise from many years of service to customers from countries all over the world. As you through the rear exit you are greeted by a green oasis which really surprised us. You will be greeted by friendly, extremely competent, well spoken Liesel who, in my opinion, is pivotal to the success of this business situated in a place with very limited resources. Liesel knows everything, from booking in, serving at the bar as well as dining. An employee who is a huge asset. I found everything better than expected, by far. As far as hotel experiences go that I have had around the world, this hotel exoerience was in my top 5 most memorable ones. If you are going to be in the area you really should add it to your to do list. We all had a GREAT time and enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

My wife and I popped in to have a couple of beers in the garden. The owner abs his wife however treat the beer garden like their office. We had a loud five person business meeting beside us for thirty minutes. Then the owner decided to do his typing and emails Then they had loud Skype calls on speaker phone We were going to have a couple of beers and had one and we were going to have supper there and decided not to When I explained my problem nicely and politely to the owners wife she just shrugged her shoulders and ignored my comments If you want a quite drink rather stop at Helmeringhausen, the garden there is beautiful, the staff super pleasant and the food great.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Always keen to assist. However, they have no cleaning services available over the weekends. Bathrooms were not the cleanest either, our basin tap was dirty the day we checked-in and the hand soap bottle was not working until the day we left despite mentioning that to them.

We stayed one night and were glad we did. The hotel is a heritage property in the middle Of a very small farming town. The reception and restaurant were in the original building, while the rooms were in a newer annex. The rooms were simple and clean, and the shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. The food in the restaurant was tasty, the setting was very pleasant. The staff were exceptionally kind and friendly. Wifi is not free and must be purchased We would gladly stay here again if we were in the area
