The 'Setre Marina Biwako' oozes luxury. From the moment you arrive at the entrance & check-in, to the moment you depart, you will be spoilt rotten. Everything about this facility is total perfection - the staff, although very formal, are also casual & friendly, the room is very well appointed with great views across the lake with the Hira Mountains in the distance, the facilities are top rate and the food is what you would experience at any top class restaurant anywhere in the world. Tip-1 - when you check-in you are given a card telling you the sunset time and I suggest, if the weather is fine-&-clear, you absorb the great view as the sun sets behind the mountain rage. Tip-2 - pour yourself a glass of red wine, get a plate with some nibbles and head to the roof and check-out the view. Tip-3 - don't be in a hurry at dinner, savor the food, wash it down with a nice wine (it took my wife and I 2.5-hours to make our way through the menu). Tip-4 - have your breakfast in your room. Tip-5 - bring some cycling gear and take advantage of the free cycles and head-off over the Biwako-ohashi (bridge) and check-out the view from the top. Everything is included in the cost of your stay so, whatever your purpose for staying at the 'Setre Marina Biwako, you will come-away totally refreshed.

We had a girls' birthday party at Setre Marina Biwako. The forecast was for rain, but luckily we were able to enjoy the beautiful view of biwako from the lounge with a beer in hand. Setre is all-inclusive, so those of us who like alcohol can enjoy endless beers. Eclairs will be served from 16:00 and sparkling drinks will be served at the cocktail party from 17:30. This was quite delicious. Dinner starts at 6:30 pm, and the theme is ``Megumi'' (written ``Megumi''). Imagine a trip around Biwako and enjoy the blessings of the region. The dishes were inspired by the chef's desire to bring out the best in each dish, regardless of cooking style. In particular, the pasta garni was made with trout, which is typical of Lake Biwa, and I was impressed by its refreshing taste. Pairing is recommended for high cost performance. I can't speak about the wine, but I'm quite satisfied. It's morning, and you can have a cute morning set in your room. The Setre Group is one of my favorite hotels. From the room, Lake Biwa spreads out, and the Lake Biwa Bridge can be seen to the right. The Thirty-six Peaks of Higashiyama, which I always see from Kyoto, can be seen from the opposite side to the west, giving it a resort feel. I enjoyed the sunset while enjoying champagne, homemade cakes and snacks, and opened the door to enjoy the sunrise.
