Mountain View Hotels in Bali

This was a truly special experience! The hotel service was excellent, with golf cart transfers available anytime. Upon check-in, a dedicated staff member connected with us via WeChat, WhatsApp, etc., which was very convenient. Payments could also be made with Alipay and UnionPay. The hotel's scenery is beautiful, and there's a wide variety of services and activities to choose from. Inside the rooms, you can use a fireplace, and outside there are bonfires. I'll definitely be back! I also want to thank Arick Semut for always helping us book activities.

We went for our 20th wedding anniversary and could not have been happier with our choice! This place is stunning both inside and out. We were amazed by how beautiful the surroundings were with every detail well thought out. The room was stunning and well laid out. When we arrived they had cooled down the room and heated the pool which was the absolute perfect temperature the entire time. Having a wam pool was a big part of how much we enjoyed our stay as we spent quite a bit of time in it. The room and outside patio area was very private and we felt as though we were the only ones there at times. The food was also amazing whether we ate at the poolside restaurant, the high end restaurant Aperitif, or eating in the Pinstripes Bar. We really enjoyed the bar and the staff there. They were so attentive and everyone made us feel right at home. We enjoyed great conversations there and got some good recommendations on things to see in the area. The drinks were really next level as these bartenders know their craft. It was fun to watch them mix the drinks and they explained the science behind what flavors they were combining and how some of the spices and other ingredients were locally sourced. The entire staff was also another highlight. Everyone we encountered could not have been more friendly and attentive. The general manager even took the time to sit with us to see how our stay was going and asking other questions that showed he was very committed to the property. We also like that this is a family owned property. They were staying there while we were there and it was clear they too all had a passion for excellence. We researched properties for months before deciding on Viceroy. We did spend a bit more in the end than we may have for other 5 star properties, but after reading some of the reviews at the other places, we kept circling back to Viceroy. We are so glad we did and in the end, the extra money still made the stay seem like a bargain. We have paid about the same for a tiny room in a substandard hotel in New York City and here we were treated like kings in one of the most beautiful spots we have ever stayed in. For a relaxing, romantic stay in Bali away from the tourist hot spots, the Sanak Retreat is the ideal place to stay. It is really exceptionally nice located in the middle of the rice terraces and the few bungalows blend harmoniously into the landscape. We felt right at home. The food is ok and not too expensive. The location invites to hiking and biking. The only downside to our stay was that we were there at the time of the rice harvest and the farmers in the immediate vicinity of the hotel burned the rice palm after the harvest. This has unfortunately stunk terrible and fouled entire stretches of land for days. Those who are sensitive to bad air should try to avoid the time of the rice harvest.

The resort has some genuinely nice features, particularly the pool, the views, and the on-site gym. However, there are several important aspects that future guests should be aware of. First of all, the resort is extremely remote. The road eventually turns into an unpaved gravel track, which makes getting there by scooter quite difficult and uncomfortable. It can also be problematic when using Grab, as the location of the resort is not displayed accurately in the app. This makes it considerably more difficult to find the property, especially when arriving for the first time. Unfortunately, the room itself also had a strong musty and stuffy smell, which made the overall experience less pleasant. This is something that should definitely be addressed, particularly given the price level of the resort. Another point is the pricing. The resort’s food and beverage prices are very much adapted to Western tourist standards and are considerably higher than what you would normally expect locally. In my opinion, the prices are difficult to justify in relation to the overall experience and the local market. The breakfast is a good example. The portions and presentation are very much geared towards Western tastes rather than Indonesian breakfast culture. The portions feel more like something you would expect at a high-end restaurant, although without the multiple courses. In addition, various extras are charged separately, even when breakfast itself is already included in the room rate. For example, I was charged IDR 35,000 for just two small hash browns, weighing approximately 60 grams in total. The breakfast doesn’t satisfy at all. Overall, the resort has great potential thanks to its beautiful pool, views and gym. However, the remote and difficult access, the unpleasant smell in the room and the very high food and beverage prices significantly affected the overall value for money.

Our stay at Homm Saranam Baturiti was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived at the lobby, we were welcomed by a breathtaking mountain view that immediately set the tone for a relaxing getaway. Walking into our two-bedroom villa, the kids were completely wowed. The villa was amazing—spacious, beautifully designed, and perfect for our family of five. It even had its own private plunge pool, incredibly comfortable beds, and cozy areas where you could relax with a quiet read. Our villa was conveniently located next to the main pool and gym, both of which we used daily. Breakfast had everything we needed to start our mornings right. One of the highlights of our stay was an intimate dinner at the upstairs restaurant. A big shout-out to Chef Erni and Ryan, who prepared our à la carte dishes with so much love. Every dish we tried was incredibly flavoursome and memorable. The location was also ideal for exploring nearby attractions. We visited Banyumala Twin Waterfalls, Handara Gates, and the Floating Temple, all of which were absolutely stunning. Homm Saranam Baturiti is a perfect blend of comfort, nature, and heartfelt hospitality. We would definitely return.

The whole room was really nice, with great mountain and sea views. The restaurant food wasn't great, but it was inexpensive. The most comfortable thing was lying on the big sofa on the balcony, looking at the sea. The hotel also provided welcome drinks, which were a local specialty. However, the environment was a bit too wild. My clothes were hanging in the bathroom, got blown to the floor, and were eaten by insects, leaving two big holes. Also, the small road leading to the hotel was a bit bumpy, although the hotel did offer a shuttle bus. There weren't many special restaurants on the street outside the hotel, but there were durian vendors, and I bought two good ones for 60k.

A heavenly place, we got a room with a view of the lake and the volcano. There are fruit trees on the territory, such as mango, avocado, passion fruit and many others) there is also a pool with a hot spring, but for us it was not hot enough) the staff is always responsive, always ready to prompt and advise what and where to see) it is simply a magical place. I recommend it 100%

The hotel is in a quiet location with views of the rice fields, but I wasn't so lucky: the fields had been harvested and were standing empty in the water, which was still nice, but not ideal. However, living and working with these views was still wonderful and peaceful. As for the downsides of my accommodation type, I can mention: the toilet and shower were downstairs on the first floor outside, and the bedroom was on the second floor, which created some inconvenience. And I didn't get any hot water: I still don't know if it's supposed to be available or not... I took quick cold showers. The internet worked well. No complaints there. The breakfast was very sparse: a couple of eggs, fruit, 2 slices of bread, and instant coffee. A cute cat comes with the accommodation: it slept with me all night one of the nights :)

Gede was so nice and helpful. True MVP. He gave me suggestions and even a ride to somewhere too far to walk! Short walk to Dream Beach (with a good restaurant) and Devil’s Tear. About 20 minute walk to Mushroom Beach with more restaurants and a few ATMs along the way. You can rent a scooter from the hotel. The bungalows are rustic but really pleasant. The AC is strong and there’s a mosquito net for the bed so it’s not a problem that there are some gaps in the walls and door. I liked the open-air bathroom. The shower was nice. The pool is also great. Breakfast was eggs and toast, plus coffee/tea and juice. The outlets weren’t placed super conveniently at the floor if you like to charge your phone at night and see it in bed. The “safety box” thing in the room isn’t actually secure - you can open it with your finger. However, I always felt super safe and wasn’t worried about needing to use it.

For a couple of days, a good hotel. You can rent a bike at the hotel for 70K, there is a diving center nearby. You can order a transfer to the airport, since it is difficult to find a taxi in this area. I ordered to the airport for 700K. The room is spacious, there is air conditioning, hot water and that's it. The room is not cleaned. You can eat in the cafe near the hotel. The prices are reasonable. The cafe is open until 10 pm. The ocean is about 40 meters from the hotel.
