Travemünde, the Baltic Sea & perfect weather The choice for the Maritim Hotel was simple because at this time little rooms were still free. The pictures have convinced and Maritim usually has a good standard. Yes, the hotel is in a high house (3-13 floors are reserved from the Maritim as guest room) which I know also from other hotels. Three lifts with max. 3 people naturally lead to long waiting times. The worse is only ”ONE” lift to the deep garage with definitely max 3 people (with baggage rather only 2). This lift also leads to wellness area so very long waiting times. Well, the reception lacks desirable, because no instruction to the hotel, the parking ticket was only dipped on demand next day and the card for free use of the beach was also issued only on demand. Breakfast in the sea can be very different, for example, here was the coffee speciality (Latte Macchiato) extremely bad & coffee in the morning is extremely important or? Good was for example the salmon, which I can expect at the sea. But only to offer salmon I found disappointing.

The location of the hotel is great. Unfortunately, the corona period was not used to carry out some necessary renovations (balcony, moderner baths, etc.). You're not happy to see the hotel for the years and you can be bothered about the waiting times on the chair and the not so tasty dinner, but the staff are making the most effort. We also felt very well again because of the great weather, but we would be happy if it was finally invested in the house of the tribal. The 5€ extra for the sauna is not modern for a luxury hotel and causes us to shake your heads again and again. But as long as the house is so well booked, nobody sees the need for innovation! ?

We had booked 2 nights in this hotel and were very satisfied. The rooms are very large and equipped with balcony the place to relax in the evening. Breakfast buffet was very delicious and extensive. Parking should have been booked before, as they had no longer to have after some time. However, you can still find a place to park in the surrounding area (gratis). The hotel is very central and the beach was about 2 minutes walking distance. The staff was very friendly and always meet. Very recommendable!

Friendship of staff and service were excellent! Rooms were super and the housekeeping was absolutely perfect! Breakfast had a large selection including all drinks, for me no wish was unfulfilled. The responsible staff were very careful and helpful!

Jeden Samstagabend gibt es von 17:30 bis 20:30 Uhr einen Tapas-Abend im Country Hotel Timmendorfer Strand. Die Teilnahme kostet 33 Euro pro Person (2023) zuzüglich Getränken. Es gibt ein Büffet, einige warme Tapas wurden serviert. Leider gab es keine Menükarte auf der steht, welche Tapas im Laufe des Abends serviert werden, sodass es etwas schwierig ist, sich am Büffet zu bedienen, da man nicht weiß, was noch kommt. Bei meinem Besuch war das Restaurant nicht sehr voll, obwohl es Juni war und der Ort voll war. Es gab viele freie Plätze, die meisten Gäste waren wohl Hotelgäste mit Halbpension. Die Servicemitarbeiterin und ihr Kollege waren sehr nett und bemüht, auch der Koch war präsent und kontrollierte regelmäßig das Büffet und erkundigte sich, ob alles in Ordnung sei. Positiv war auch, dass alle Speisen, bis auf die Salate, beschriftet waren. Auf dem Büffet gab es eine Suppe, Salate, kalte Vorspeisen, warme Speisen und Nachtisch. Bei einigen Komponenten habe ich mich gefragt, wo der Bezug zu Spanien ist. Als Suppe gab es eine Knoblauchcremesuppe. Diese war schmackhaft, der Knoblauch war identifizierbar, aber der Geschmack von Gemüsebrühe dominierte. Das Salatbüffet war umfangreich, bestand jedoch zum Großteil aus zugekauften Fertigprodukten. Es gab drei verschiedene Blattsalate, Tomaten, Gurkenscheiben, Paprikastreifen, Mixed Pickels aus dem Glas, Kidneybohnensalat, hellen Bohnensalat (wenig Geschmack), Mozzarellakugeln, rote Bete Salat, klaren Kartoffelsalat, Karottensalat süß-sauer (lecker), Spargelsalat mit Ei (kaum Geschmack), Kürbissalat süß-sauer (schmackhaft). Bis auf die frischen Komponenten (Blattsalate, Gurke, Tomate, Paprika) waren es alles fertig gekaufte Convenience-Produkte, schade! Dazu gab es drei verschiedene Dressings (French, American und Vinaigrette), drei verschiedene Essige und Olivenöl. Außerdem gab es Baguette, Butter und sechs Dips, die mir jedoch alle nicht wirklich schmeckten (Aioli, Ajvar, Creme aus getrockneter Tomate, Zucchinicreme (geschmacksneutral), Auberginecreme (geschmacksneutral) und Guacamole). Daneben gab es Weinblätter, Oliven und Sushi-Ingwer, außerdem Puten-Käse-Wraps und vegetarische Salat-Wraps. Außerdem gab es ein kleines Käsebrett mit wenigen Trauben. Auf der anderen Seite des Büffets gab es Feta in Scheiben, Chorizo, exzellenten und hauchdünnen S*****en, kleine Silberzwiebeln in dunklem Balsamico (Keine Borretane Zwiebeln!), getrocknete Tomaten und gegrillte Zucchini mit Aioli gefüllt. Der Garnelensalat mit Karotte, Sellerie, Paprika, Gurke und Lauch in klarer Marinade war süß-sauer abgeschmeckt und sehr lecker, die Garnelen waren allerdings geschmacklich nicht sehr intensiv. Auch der Meeresfrüchtesalat war süß-sauer abgeschmeckt und mit knackigen Gemüsewürfeln und ebenfalls schmackhaft, allerdings war in beiden Salaten der Gemüseanteil sehr hoch. The beach lock is directly on the beach. From outside it looks a little weather according to the sea climate, but inside it is very beautiful. It has flair, is very clean. Also the rooms are very clean, beautiful and still new. You can stay here comfortably.
