Omni Royal Orleans Hotel

Valet parking is a must when you’re in the French Quarter. It makes it easy and safe at the same time. The person who checked us in was friendly and made it easy. Very ‘central’ location. Wonderful stay and will absolutely come again.

This hotel is located close to Jackson Square, the French quarter, the river... super walking option to all interesting sites in NOLA.

This property is perfect for a New Orleans stay. Centrally located to walk to anything you like. The hotel and staff were nice.

AMAZING everything was perfect. The stuff was just out of this world so kind the bar was amazing. The restaurant was delicious 10 out of 10.

The hotel was nice, although there was a musty odor around the room. It was in walking distance of great restaurants and bars. Staff was very friendly and accomodating.

The beauty and history of the hotel is amazing! The staff were professional, attentive and accommodating. The room with a balcony was the best feature for my visit! It’s not too noisy but gives you awesome views of the action in the French Quarter! The Rib Room Jazz Brunch is fantastic and being in the heart of The French Quarter provided convenient walkability!

I stayed at the Omni Royal 3 years ago and returned specially to that hotel. Upon arrival at midnight, the tub was leaking such that it sounded like someone had left the sink running. We called and they sent someone up at 12:30 am who told us it needed a part and to call back in the morning. In the morning, we realized the shower was nothing more than a mist and the tub was still leaking loudly. Another gentleman came up and said they had to order a part and he basically just shut the tub faucet so tight it couldn’t be turned back on. They did not give us a new room or even an apology. They never cleaned our room the following day. On the second full day there, we stopped by the front desk at 930am to say we were heading out to breakfast and could they clean our room. We returned at 2pm and it had not been done. It was never cleaned the whole stay. The day of check out, we requested a noon checkout rather than 11am. At 11:15 I was in a towel getting ready and a cleaning lady just entered the room without knocking. She just stood there! She said “check out” and I said we had a noon check out and SHE STILL JUST STOOD THERE IN THE ROOM! With me just in a towel. I asked if she could please leave and she just kept saying check out and didn’t move. I finally had to come towards her and usher her out of the room and shut the door on her! She was standing there at least 30 seconds to a minute. I honestly couldn’t believe it. I will never be staying there again.

The entrance and lobby is inviting. They greet you and are helpful. However, once you get to the room you see the age of the hotel. There is a chair in the room that needs to be tossed out. It is old/worn out and dirty. The curtains are dirty. Our sheets were stained with what appeared to be droplets of blood. The carpet is filthy. We had the house keeper come clean the room and change the bed linen. The price is reasonable, so I guess you get what you pay for. Next time, I will stay away from the French Quarter. The owner’s needs to invest a little into remodeling. On the other hand, everything is in walking distance. No shortage of great food. Stay away from Felix’s oyster bar (bad service and cold food).

My only negative was that I called the Omni Royal Orleans before my booking and asked about parking, namely was it "free of charge". I was told by the representative that it was. At checkout time I was charged $50 a night for parking. That is hardly "free parking". The hotel does allow "in and out" movement without charge, but that is certainly not the same thing as "free parking".
