Had a brilliant experience here. For such an affordable stay the quality was excellent, the room was lovely, clean and cosy and the services offered were great - kitchen, lounge, computer/library area and laundry room. They also have activities like movie nights which is such a great bonus. The staff were extremely kind - especially Yari - who helped my friend and I when we missed our bus. We really felt taken care of. The location is also great and well connected with a subway station a few minutes away and it felt safe walking home at night. I couldn't believe we found this place and that it was as good as it seemed, especially for NYC! I would highly recommend staying here. The West Side YMCA is definitely a no frills place to stay, but the location is excellent. You're right next to Central Park and Columbus Circle. Times Square is an easy walk south. We stayed in 2 different rooms. The first had a bunk bed and was quite small, but the bed was comfy and the room was clean. It also had a small TV and fridge. We had a semi-private bathroom, which was down the hall. This meant we had to scan our key on one of the bathroom doors to get in, but once inside we had privacy while we got cleaned up. The bathrooms were kept clean and tidy. We were able to upgrade the second half of our stay to a room with a larger bed and an in room bathroom. Again, this hotel is no frills. It can be rough around the edges, but it's clean and comfortable at the end of a long day of sightseeing. We did not have time to take advantage of the gym, the pool, the sauna, and stuff like that, but they looked nice. I'd recommend the West Side YMCA. If you're visiting NYC, you should be out doing stuff, not sitting around the room. It was everything we needed it to be.

The room is a suite with one bedroom and one living room. Although the suites are not very large, they have all the facilities. It is worth mentioning that the sofa has a built-in folding bed, and the bedroom has a door, so that 3 to 4 people can stay without being disturbed; The hotel includes breakfast; the ferry is 100 meters away from the door, and it is very convenient to go to downtown Manhattan.

The cleanliness of the shared facilities extended to the toilets, which were consistently well-maintained and stocked with amenities. This attention to hygiene contributed significantly to a positive overall experience. Despite booking a bed in a 12-bed room, I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness and the daily cleaning routine carried out by the diligent hostel staff. Adding to the positive experience, the Hi New York hostel's location proved to be exceptionally convenient for exploring major destinations. The hostel's close proximity to a subway station, just a 2-minute walk away, made traveling around the city a breeze. This accessibility enhanced the overall convenience of my stay, allowing me to easily reach and explore various attractions without any hassle. The strategic location near the subway station was undoubtedly a valuable asset for anyone looking to make the most of their time in the city. In essence, Hi New York hostel provided a comfortable and budget-friendly accommodation option with its friendly staff, convenient amenities, and well-maintained communal spaces. Excellent customer service especially Marvin and Linda easy walk across the h e street to bus. Approximately 20 minutes to NYC. Then 15 minutes to Times Square. Beds very comfortable and room very clean. Safe area.would highly recommend.

Long way to the shuttle bus point and waiting more than 30 minutes for the next pick up. Other than this inconveniences, everything is ok in the hotel.

The hotel is about a 4-5 minute walk from the New York Line 4 subway station, and it takes 30 minutes to go to the Metropolitan Museum. The three of us booked a one-bedroom suite. The room is not small, and there is plenty of space to put suitcases. The bed is about 2 meters long. It can sleep three people without any problem. The bathroom is clean and tidy. There are not many breakfast varieties but they are basically delicious. Overall, this hotel is very cost-effective. I will choose to stay here again if I have the opportunity to come to New York again. of!

We were at this hotel for one night. There was a power failure which affected the hotel, and of course, this was not the hotel's fault, although it did result in inconvenience and discomfort to our stay. In addition, some guests were having a noisy party just outside the front entrance which was loud enough to keep me awake in the middle of the night -- our room was a few floors up overlooking the party. I felt that we deserved either compensation or credit for a future stay at a Hilton property, so I went to speak to the manager in the morning. However, there was a long line of people waiting to complain to the manager, and we had to leave, so I didn't get to speak with him. I subsequently emailed the manager 3 times to ask for compensation and he never replied. I called 5 times and the manager was supposedly never there. Finally, I spoke to the assistant manager. He listened attentively assured me that someone would get back to me. That was two weeks ago. I am very disappointed in this poor customer service and unprofessional behavior of their managerial staff.
