The hotel is very beautiful - ambiance was great, room was great, staff were excellent. The very clean common kitchen with complimentary coffee, tea, and miso soup was awesome and a boon to the travel weary. We could warm our food in the microwave and conventional ovens. The hotel also offered artisanal bread, pizza etc. for purchase, which could be reheated or baked in the ovens. Altogether a great hotel but it was far from the main area near the train station where most of the restaurants and convenience stores were.

Nikko is one of the popular destination amongst first time visitors to Japan. It has lots of historical and natural locations to visit. Also it is conveniently accessible vi the train from Tokyo for a good day trip. But if you want to spend an extra day and have some limited budget. There are lots of budget hotels and lodge. The Hotel Famitic Nikko is conveniently located a few minutes on foot from Tobu Nikko Station. A must try is the famous AgeManju (fried Bun). The store is just across the station The hotel room is small but that is what a budget capsule hotel is. The hotel has normal room for two people as well A common bath on the first floor. The room has a lock closet for security, you can charge for tablet or smart phone sure to bring the cable. This is not a romantic getaway.

Quite and nice stay there

It was a visit to the open-air bath with a room, and it was a way to use it outside the room except for the meal. The members were young and cold with rain. This comfortable, rustic hostel of the family type has a lot to offer and has a few disadvantages: firstly, there are two beautiful, semi-private baths or ours; you can just set the label on and enjoy with your partner; There is a large dining area with free coffee and tea, plus a microwave, hot water and free-filtration water in the lounge and a combi freezer / refrigerator for guests use, free of charge. The room was pleasant and we had a small but nice 'capsule' bathroom in our room that was fire-soilly clean. It is also clearly an old building and the decor is dated, but I found it added to the charm. Then the room was in a quiet neighborhood and you could hear the river that was delicious. The guests were friendly and helpful too. Now the disadvantage: the cherosin cakes used in both the lounge and our room just smoked horrible. I was grown up with cherosin lights as a child and my husband too, so it's not as if we know nothing about it. We were able to open the windows in our room to get out of the smell, but it's November and it's frozen, So we just jumped under the thick deck beds. My recommendation: go to enjoy all the pleasant places to offer in the summer. T**** disadvantage is that the walls are thin with little sound isolation - we could hear the conversation of the couple next to. If you are a slight sleeper, this may disturb you.

As other reviews say, the building is undeniably dilapidated, but considering the low price, it is a hotel with very good service. You can bring oden, alcohol, and coffee in the lobby to your room. You can bring pillows and humidifiers with you. The food was not luxurious or new, but the buffet was well replenished and the variety was good. The soy milk pot is very delicious, and I enjoyed everything from the buffet space to pork, vegetables, udon noodles and rice cheese. If my child fell asleep in the middle of the trip, the staff immediately noticed and connected the chair and brought me a lap blanket. The private bath also has about 10 showers, so it seems that the one that was used as a normal indoor bath was made private, but the children were delighted to play. I am very thankful that there are water guns, buckets and watering cans in the bathtub. The point to watch out for is February, so it's cold anyway. The path to the bath, the dressing room, and the room are all cold. I turned on the air conditioner in the room, but it was too cold, so I couldn't sleep in my yukata. I think it's better to bring room wear that can be used as a pajamas. Also, the toilet paper holder was about to come off. I wrote a lot, but I think it's a ryokan with more than enough service considering the price.

My wife and I booked the Nikko Station Hotel II for April 13 - 15 as a non refundable reservation. This week, the US State Dept issued a Level 4 warning for all US citizens to avoid international travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In spite of their normal policy, the Nikko Station Hotel II made an exception due to the COVID-19 pandemic and issued a full refund. We will reschedule our trip to Japan after the pandemic passes and WILL DEFINITELY rebook at the Nikko Station Hotel II, as they have shown excellent customer service in a difficult time!

This is my third trip/adventure to Japan. I would say as a solo traveler this has to be one of the very best places I have ever stayed in when travelling around Japan. I came to Nikko np to explore the vast array of hiking trails, all of which I did, had breathtaking views and a poetic, truly majestic Japanese feel to them. I rented a car from Nasushiobara (Shinkansen) and drove across to Kinugawa. On arrival I was greeted by a host of the hotel staff, welcoming me and helping me with parking and my bags. I checked in with ease and with some broken English and Japanese on my part was led to a beautiful traditional Japanese style room overlooking the river. The service throughout was world class and made me feel both very comfortable, at home, but also special. I stayed 3 nights with half board (breakfast and dinner), both truly amazing and served with grace and politeness. On the first evening’s dinner one of the serving staff took the time to speak with me and allowed me to share some of my recent experiences/photos etc whilst preparing dinner - this was most welcome, especially as I had been travelling alone for over a week. The location of the onsen hotel is about 60 mins drive to some of the most sought after walks in the np. Very easy to access by car and excellent roads. The accommodation itself is a mix between very traditional Japanese resort and original/boutique Ryokan. The private and public onsen’s are fantastic and a well deserved rest-bite after a long days hiking! Having been to some of the most popular ryokan’s in Japan; Iwaso, Claska etc, this came as a very nice surprise and at an affordable rate without any compromise. If in the area, I would highly recommend staying…

The room is quite large, the beds are all large double beds, the tables, chairs and sofas are also very good, there are also projectors and TVs, the kitchen is also fully equipped, including a microwave, induction cooker, and cooking utensils, so you can cook by yourself. The whole room is a big open space The room has no partitions and is not suitable for those who need privacy. Those who live on the first floor may face the noise from residents walking on the second floor. The hotel is located next to the highway, next to a small village, about a quarter of an hour's walk from Tobu Nikko Station. Although the road is not long, it is not very smooth. There is a 7-11 and a larger supermarket within three minutes. There is no front desk, check-in requires self-service, and the room has a password lock. Remember that you cannot check in before three o'clock and you cannot store your luggage. Your luggage can be stored at the station. It cost 5,100 RMB to stay for three days.
