I like the hotel and the price was correct. I believe it is a newly refurbished hotel and you can see that they have put some effort in it. Location is great, has views of the mountains and the sea. The hotel is quite clean and room and bed and pillows are very comfortable. It definitely ticks a lot of boxes. However, the customer service could be a little improved. I feel the staff is not as friendly and interested to make the customers very happy so they would return. I asked the waiters twice for a glass of tap water and both times I was told to go and get myself a glass of water from reception. I did not feel that was very nice. One other thing I noticed is that they don't pick up the dirty glasses from the pool area, you have to return them yourselves. Also, a waiter prepared a mojito without cleaning her hands after she picked some dirty glasses. Also, some staff is not big about using deodorant. It is a shame as it ticks a lot of boxes and I would have liked to return but probably because of these little things I won't return.

WOW - where do I start? We visited in early May and thoroughly enjoyed every minute here. The hotel and rooms are fantastically decorated and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring all of the places to relax, especially the spa/palm area. We also loved the games room and gym. It was also a bonus being located on the 10th floor facing the pool as the view was fantastic. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, especially the reception staff. Also a special mention to Antonella in the restaurant who was always kind and smily when bringing us lunch and cocktails! Every detail had been thought about and we were even given food in our room when we arrived late on the first night. The app made the hotel and local area easy to navigate and it was helpful to have excursions available to book in the hotel or via the app. We loved the flexi board and ended up having lots of cocktails and lunches in the restaurant, rather than the evening buffet. Though it was great to have both options. Breakfast was always organised and well stocked every day, there are even juicers to make your own fresh juice! The hotel is fantastically located, near many restaurants, and we loved having the private beach. Highly recommend this hotel!! We will definitely return to a Valamar / [places] hotel in the future and this was a fab introduction to Croatia. Thank you for making our trip :)

Our experience at Places Makarska by Valamar was a pleasure. The hotel is clean, in a great location, but it's important to highlight one thing that's perfect. The people who work at this hotel. In general, everyone we came into contact with in any way is extremely kind, friendly and always smiling. This environment exudes a very pleasant and relaxed a**osphere. However, I would like to highlight a few individuals who stood out and personally impressed me. * Stay fit manager Bela Š. Every day there are various sports programs in the hotel, which are great because everyone can find what they like and suits them best. The best thing about all the programs is the girl who leads them. An absolutely beautiful young girl who is so positive, friendly, approachable and great at leading training that it's a shame to miss even one! * Magdalena M.- conciegre Always ready to talk, help in any way and very skillful and communicative in organizing great trips to beautify your stay. * Bar "Pomalo" With the rest of the team that rotates, cocktail master Josip K. and Darija are a super duo. Josip stands out in particular with his contagious smile, positive attitude and super talent for making cocktails. Recommendation- Moscow mule ;) * Breakfast Marija and Branimir take turns making omelets. Both are very nice. Marija is very open and kind, so we mentioned chili peppers along the way. The next day she had them ready next to her and with that gesture she delighted us and showed how she cares about even the smallest details to make guests feel great. * Waiter Matija S. In the middle of enjoying my vacation, I stepped on a sea urchin. While passing by, I asked the waiter Matija S. if he could get me a needle. With the rest of the work he has plenty of, he got the needle in less than 5 minutes and literally saved the day! Congratulations on your care and speed! And finally "last but not least" * Marija G.K. hotel manager The hotel manager is beautiful, kind and always ready to help. She made our stay perfect in no time and with her gesture showed that guests are at the top of the list in your hotel. Congratulations on the way of communication and problem solving. Overall, a dream team! Congratulations and keep going!

Nice stay with so kind staff. The rooms were always clean, cocktails on the terrace were perfect, maybe i missed a little more personal touch in ordering food system, changed several daily meals and ensure the freshness of the dishes. Frozen wegetables and concentrates do not belong in this level of hotel. All in all i will come back.

very clean rooms , excellent , good conectivity from hotel to sea,friendly people who work in the hotel , is my second time in this hotel am i allredy recomanded to friends. some negative impact was price off drinks was to hight and colective budget for flexy stay is to small

Wow! Where do I start?! Amazing hotel & staff! We came on the day of reopening after it had been fully refurbished . The furniture and decor is to a high standard .. so beautiful! There is a games room which has 2 PS5’s, a football table , pool table , 2 table tennis tables & 2 ping pong machines. The food is spectacular! Full English Breakfast for you English people if you want it! . You are allocated €25 pp per day to spend on food or drink which accumulates if not used. The manager Dragan is very attentive & ensures you are happy. DJ Sakkusa is awesome! Plays a set by the pool where you can dance & drink cocktails in the sunshine. Perfect ! The two pools one of which is an infinity pool are very clean & beautiful. The beach is steps away with complimentary sunbeds. The rooms are small but sufficient for your needs ..the pillows are like clouds ! Book it !

We arrived on the 1st day of re-opening and we cannot fault a thing, rooms are lovely and the furnishings all around the hotel are superb, sun beds are so comfy, staff are so friendly and willing to help, Dragan is particularly attentive to his guests needs and DJ Sakkusa(Philip) is playing awesome tunes round the pool! The Half Board situation is you get €25 euros per person breakfast is complimentary but you can spend that amount on food or drink….Happy holidays😎

Hotel: - Modern with open spaces, lovely pools, games areas, spa. Located just 10/15 min walk from main town but plenty of places on route. The rustic / industrial feel attracted us to the hotel. There is also plenty of greenery (sure the mosquitoes love it). Pool: - 2 nice pools with floating beds, although there was confusion around whether they were allowed in the pool or not. Need to ensure that you put your towels down before 9am to secure sun beds (yes there are Germans :)). Room: - We had a sea view on 9th floor (don't look down), and our room was spotless, cleaned every day with fresh towels. Room was big enough with extra sofa. Couple of points I would say - 1. No water provided in room, 2. Our walk in shower leaked which we reported twice and an attempt was made to fix but it still leaked and 3. I hate hotel pillows and this was no exception. Bed was comfy but I don't know why hotels insist on duck feather pillows. I requested a foam pillow but it was like a concrete block so far too hard. Food: - Breakfast was ok, plenty of eggs :)), Fresh coffee, bread, cheeses, croissants. - We were half board but only had dinner once in the hotel as we didn't really like the food. Good thing in we could use our credit for lunch and drinks so it probably worked out the same anyway. The food at the pool bar was nice. - Staff: Most of the staff are friendly in the hotel that we encountered. Overall: - I would recommend the hotel but probably wouldn't return.
