Aldemar Olympian Village

We paid 2600€ for our stay and received a dirty unhygienic room with many aesthetic as well as hygienic issues and also one safety issue (electric kettle issue). Rust in the living room and bathroom (decorations, sink, bathtub), cracks in the wall, wall paint falling off, carpet full of stains, beach towel inside apartments AC shaft, lying relations manager who instead of solving reported issues said we should seek his assistance the next day even though he knew he had vacation on that day so we won't be able to reach out to him. After hard struggle, lots of nerves and two days, they agreed to change the room for a cleaner one even though they claimed first that they are fully booked for the whole week and I was able to make a new reservation through their webpage (simply lying and unfriendly staff). Food was very disappointing as there was every morning the same kind of food for breakfast, same food for every lunch and same food for every dinner. Yes you can eat how much you want, but imagine to eat 7 days straight the same stuff. The absolute disrespect towards us as a customer was a situation when we arrived at our apartment after 8PM and we found our entrance door open, we've been shocked that there's some robbery taking place, but when we entered the apartment, there was a maintenance personnel who was doing something with the wall plug and could not speak English thus we couldn't find out what was going on and why is he even there. After we arrived he just packed his toolbox and said the word "Problem" and took off. We immediately contacted the receptionist about the situation and they declined to provide any information/reason why was the maintenance personnel in our apartment or what was the problem. We just have to believe our personal stuff wasn't touched or stolen, but our privacy was definitely violated. Absolutely NOT worth 5* and definitely not worth the money, one of the worst vacations you can buy and worst Aldemar resorts so far.

Loved it! Will be returning in 2024 Report is huge with plenty of pools and dining and bars. We were on an all inclusive plan which was brilliant and we ate in the restaurants on many nights. Service was good in all the restaurants other than an odd waiter here or there. Pools were definitely busy but we loved the beach and the surrounding g area beaches. We had a family bungalow which was a bit small because the living space had no alearate seating than the single beds. Next time I think we try the shared pools which looked quieter.

Food was perfect, clean rooms, nice service. One comment that should be more Greek music. Evening shows could be better. Animations during the day were good. Close to Bleach where a lot of sunbeds were available. I came recommend this hotel. This was good stay

Although in the middle of nowhere..you don't really need to go anywhere, everything you need is here. Very very relaxing. Booked from 5th June, and this is the quiet time..the evening entertainment was only in the apollo bar and wasn't great to be honest. Waitresses slow and reluctant to keep serving (even when tipped) the glasses are small so a few sips and your drink is done.. went to the cosy bar, and when they wanted to get rid of us, the drinks were made incorrectly (we weren't drunk..just relaxing at the bar watching the sunset) other than this.. the pool bars are AMAZING...Dora was our main server, and I can't fault her.. her drinks recommendations were great and always served with a smile. So massive love for Dora!!! The rooms are perfect and cleaned daily. This village has done everything right..there are pools everywhere so nobody was ever fighting for sunbeds.. all very relaxing..

Super excited with the hospitality of Dora and Giwta at the Cosy bar! Great ladies and very professional! I will be back again to be served these tasteful cocktails in front of the beach! Always with smile and kind ! The hotel is great! And the food even better!

The Aldemar Olympic Village was beyond our expectations, fantastic location right on the beach, numerous pools and restaurants all of a high Standard. We made the decision to book a swim up Bungalow and it did not disappoint, beautiful and immaculately clean pool, our own sunbeds and a sea view all a few steps from our patio. The room was clean and tidy and finished well and cleaned daily by the maid. Clean towels every day if needed and supply of beach towels and a beach bag was a great addition. The all inclusive package was great value and the food and drinks were all of a great standard and most of the food was locally produced. The array of salad and fruit was amazing and the local feta and yoghurt was the best we have ever eaten. The gourmet restaurants set on the beach were a real treat provided twice during our stay free of charge and highly recommended. We took our 8 year old daughter who had the a great time, she loved the pools, go carts, the constant supply of lovely ice cream and the entertainment every night. There were lots of children from babies to teenagers all well catered for. This is not a tourist location with streets of bars and shops but very much a local community and a holiday village that provides and exceptional high standard of relaxing beach front family holiday. The staff were all really friendly and always made us feel welcome. There was an army of cleaners and gardeners who worked every day to keep the facilities looking immaculate. We unfortunately had to visit the onsite dr while away and again really helpful and caring. If we had any negative it’s a long coach journey from the airport but that is small price to pay for such an amazing holiday We will be back.

For families like ours with two very small children it was perfect place to stay. We got everything we needed for pleasent holidays. All of the staff and animators were kind, always smiling, no problem with any kind of our requests. Especially Tereza who takes care of the children in Mini club was super helpfull and very nice, our daughter loved her, Thank you Tereza! :-)

Before, we visited multiple time Aldemar Cretan village (not Aldemar anymore), so I will write my review remembering this experience. Hotel is nice and big one with plenty of pools and amaizing beach. Staff is kind and helpful. We took bungalow with see view, all inclusive. Bungalow was not big, but clean and nicely located. Really recommend bungalow (bit more expensive) vs main building room. As I wrote, pools are everywhere (we not used a lot). Near each of you can find a bar with different drinks. Beach is also big with plenty of sun beds. No need to worry about finding place. You not need stone shoes (a must in Crete), since sand is everywhere. Some water attractions could be bought separately. Beach bar also there, so always could get something to drink. Food in main restaurant was ok. We were able always to find what to eat. After 10 till 18 o'clock also opened "fast food" restaurant. You always could get something also there. Ice cream for kids in almost all bars. Can't say anything about a la carte restaurants, because we skipped them due to nothing interesting we found for ourselves (la Pergola - where frutti di mare and quattro formaggi?). Usual for Aldemar - great animation team. There are 2. French (forgot name) and Italian (Pink wave). But no worries - both international and speak different languages. Both teams are great keeping busy during a day with different activities and providing show each evening. You also getting live music each evening, this also great. Within hotel you can find some shops as well. Quite expensive I would say. Now a bit about thing I was really frustrated (having kid with us and comparing to Crete) - you're in the middle of nowhere. Closest place you can visit - Katakolo (15 min by taxi). Tiny village where coming huge cruise ships. Can go there to get small shopping and nice sea food. That's all. No kind of nice towns (please build another Agios Nikolaos), zoo (feeding lemurs on Crete), aqua park (how come?), donkey rides or any other attraction. My daughter was sad about that, cause she like such activities as well. But kids club or more correctly to say Pink wave animation team in a face of Tereza, Maria and Erika saved my daughter's vacation (also mine :) ). They taking care of kids there, play games, draw, doing face painting and other activities, to keep kids busy (really not the easiest task). My daughter was absolutely happy to spend time with them. Evenings was mini Disco. Another great moment. Overall absolutely great place, recommend to anyone, but be aware about missing infrastructure around. Going to come again.

Wow what an amazing holiday destination 😍 We've just got back from a week away here. We usually do all inclusive and this has been our best holiday by far. Transfer was around 2hours but well worth it. Airport there was a bit of a nightmare as so small. We ended up queuing for a while at passport control on way there, and also to check in on way back in the heat. Not everyone could even fit through the entrance doors to get in! We booked a family apartment and had to check if we'd been upgraded as it was so big! We did have to get someone in to sort our safe but they came straight away to fix. Our kids absolutely loved all the pools available and the slide. We emailed prior to arriving to book 2 restaurants, which I suggest you do as they can get busy. The Italian restaurant was excellent. One of the best meals we've ever had. We also booked for lunch at the Mediterranean restaurant and this was lovely too. Service at both was very good. Food at the buffet restaurant was very nice, tiny bit repetitive, but we ate lunch at the beach/main pool buffet as a change. Nikos in the restaurant reserved a table for us every breakfast and dinner time and tended to our every need. Dora at the pool bar was also a lovely lady. She was so good with the kids too. Entertainment was good and there was a mini disco every night for the kids. Our kids also went to the kids club for a couple of hours everyday and the staff were great. Only little moan was some of the toilets were a little dirty at times (mainly beach and main pool ones). We went with Jet 2 and they had rated it 4star plus, the resort however had it as 5star. I would definitely put it between these two. We are thinking of booking for next year as we had the best time! 🤩🤩🤩
