Zafiro Palace Alcudia

Although the rooms, grounds etc are very nice, the hotel does not, in my view deserve 5 stars. The cleaning of the rooms is very minimal, we had to ask for coffee and tea sachets to be restocked, we had to ask for towels on separate occasions. The TV did not work on English stations for the first 2 days. The cups weren’t washed in the kitchen area. The shower and bath had to be cleaned by ourselves before use. The overhead shower did not work on hot. No turn down service. Buffet breakfast was ok, with queues for decent coffee from two machines. Overall definitely not 5 star

Great place with very good service. The hotel is maintained very well and is perfect for a family with kids. Shows every evening which is fun for kids and parents. We rented a one bedroom suite which was perfect for a family of four. We strongly recommend Zafiro Palace.

Stayed week before half term. The start of the week was quiet and the latter end of the week near bank holiday and half term became busier with families. Location - This is about hour's drive from airport depending on time of day. A 5 minute walk from the hotel will take you to the port which has a sandy sheltered beach with bars and cafes. You can walk along the beach and the playa De Muro. 10 minute walk in opposite direction leads you to Old Alcudia, which is worth a visit. We went on Tuesday and there was a market on. When you walk there at first you think it is just a normal run down beach town but if you head for the church you come across the city wall and small beautiful quaint streets that are so clean. Food - The buffet restaurant caters for everyone's taste. Yes the breakfast is mainly the same each morning and you get left overs from the previous evening reinvented (Personally that's better than throwing it out). It can get busy 8 - 9am we noticed this more at the latter end of the week and can be crowded with little ones carrying food. The evening meals again had good choice. Al carte restaurants were outstanding. All areas were kept clean and food was hot and some cooked to order (pasta and some meats). If you have ALLERGYS this is EXCELLENT hotel as they gave me a card with my allergies on which I gave to the chef each day and they showed me what I could not have. A special thanks to the chef who prepared a meal for me on the day they did themed Seafood (allergic to) Entertainment - Mainly aimed and small ones at the beginning of the week and inside by bar area. Latter end the entertainment moved outside but was not high end very general and I felt it was aimed at kids more. Pools - this hotel is about the pools - The lane pool for those wanting to do serious lengths is small and advise to do first thing in the am as the other half of pool kids are throwing balls about and you get hit on the head... The adult area was quiet and looked down on the children's pools so you felt out the way in your own space. Plenty of sun beds even in the afternoon. The ones around the small pool go first thing in the morning but a row back and still available Rooms - Very spacious easily accommodate 3 people or 2 adults and 2 small children. Plenty of storage. Clean. If you like coffee in the sun on the balcony, blocks 1-3 internal rooms or 5-6 external rooms. In the afternoon the sun moves round so they become shadier. Note block 1 is by the outside entertainment area you can see the stage from some of the balconies. Can be a bit nosy up till about 10.30pm. Overall Yes I would go back - beautiful walks from the hotel. Excellent for those with food intolerances. Rooms spacious and clean. Staff helpful and happy, especially those working in the restaurants (serving and clearing away). Negative - no usb ports in the rooms (so travel plugs) and double check what is and isn't included with your choice of board - All Inc or

We had the most amazing family holiday at this 5 star hotel. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Food selection is top class, evening entertainment great for the kids. Would definitely recommend for a family

Lovely welcoming hotel. Plenty for adults and kids, and our children really enjoyed the bouncing pillow in the pool. Food in the hotel is excellent, and there are also many quality restaurants nearby to try out as well. Would definitely recommend.

Love the hotel and the ambience. It is however in need of some renovation and TLC and the standard is no longer 5 star like before. Food OK but very expensive in hotel. Staff very helpful and professional. Rooms OK but need some attention. Pillows and towels worn and torn, bathroom needed some attention. Leaking water from shower and silicone worn and discolored. Area great, lots of restaurants and Old town of Alcudia just a walk away.

The hotel is very clean, run extremely well everything about it was great - Breakfast was on a par with some Mexico 5 star resorts I have been too. Check in was very efficient and check out was probably even more efficient. I had the best meal I have ever had at one of the local restaurants and was only able to get a same day reservation as the woman at the front desk called them and spoke for me and was very persuasive. They are so good with children here that I would not hesitate to take your family here if you have children of any age. The only issue with the whole hotel AT ALL was that I paid for a suite with a private pool and due to going in May and it not being heater I couldn't use it as it was just too cold to swim in. Would love to go back though

It is a nice and big hotel. It is close to the city and I will recomend you to eat there, because the restaurants in the hotel are rather expensive. The apartment is fine. Only the bathroom is strange, it is open with a glass door to the toilet and to the shower. The staff is freindly and we got fresh water every day.

Only marking 2 by its own impeccably high standards. Our third stay in a zafiro and second at this venue (previous being two years ago). Venue and location Fantastic, all inclusive drinks and cocktails superb, entertainment faultless (aside from potentially raunchier acts for the front rownof toddlers sat in nursery seats) but for circa 5k holiday for a a week in May their own standards are not being met. The Al a carte restaurant staff take your order and appear with the wrong meal 3 x, continually bringing incorrect drinks orders, hairs in food,chairs and tables showing signs of disrepair, towels in rooms showing their age, the booking system is not fit for purpose, never any availability/cannot book prior to arriving and have to discuss with reception staff to get a look in. Not sure what has happened but the overall quality is less for substantially more money - potentially forcing us to look elsewhere for future breaks.
