The front desk and their systems are very old and outdated. Compared to newer resorts they would be rated a 2 star. Maybe 3.

Upon arrival, we didn't get the two rooms with two double beds, as booked, but the alternative, the king bed room with "sofa bed" was great for the kids. The sofa bed is not the old school metal sofa bed with thin mattress, it's more a futon style so we were very happy with our accommodations.
Lots of hot shower water 😁 daily.
Exceptional staff in all areas, food service, pool staff, bartenders and the quality control people. Always a smile and a fist pump for the kids, someone is always checking in to make sure your stay is missing nothing.
The buffet has so many options, we dined at the restaurants, but found the quality at the buffet fresher for our liking.
The kids pool and waterslides are a game changer for the kids. The canteen in the kids section let's kids be independent.
Very happy with our March break stay.

I took my son for his 3rd birthday. Everything outside the room was great. It was a lot of entertainment for us and my son. But the room was dirty. It had ants and roaches. The tub wasn’t clean. Nothing was clean inside the room.

The staff are very friendly and fun. The resort itself needs updating the rooms are old and musty. We had little bugs (we googled it and they were either sand fleas or nonseeums) it wasn’t a deal breaker but we did get bitten during the night so I’m thinking they were in the bed but so small and hard to see. My daughter left crackers on the night table and when we came back to the room from the pool the table was covered with them. My son left an empty glass that had Pepsi in it on the dresser and when we got back from dinner the cup was full of them! The fridge in our room was not working properly so items in there were not cold just room temperature. The shower leaked water onto the floor and into the toilet stall area. The cleaning staff did not replenish items in the room toilet paper and soap even with us leaving a tip of $2 daily. I’ve noticed over the last few years the quality has gone down but the price has increased. It’s a great resort for families with small kids cause they have a water park and pizza/ice cream shack attached but I don’t think I will be staying at this resort again unless it gets a major makeover. If you want a room side by side with another party you have to pull teeth to get it done! Service of the staff at dinner and pool is great they are attentive if you tip it goes a long way. Bring insect repellent with you the mosquitos are pretty bad. We saw a tiny cockroach in the main buffet late one night before closing which was gross.

Checking in to this resort was ridiculous. There weren't a lot of people checking in at the time
yet the staff took forever to assist us and to get us checked in. I had to call multiple times to get my luggage to my room. The property is extremely outdated. I reserved a room with two beds and got a room with two beds and a roll out bed that had pointy and dangerous edges and the other appeared to be a pull out couch with a mattress topper thrown over it that was literally way too big for the pull out couch. They were more of a hazard then anything. Service throughout the stay was very poor. We've stayed at other resorts in Punta Cana before and everything including the service was phenomenal. The only reason we went with Bahia Principe Fantasia was because of the waterpark area for my boys and because it was advertised as being great for families. We definitely will not be returning to this resort.

Overall very disappointed. Terrible customer service, front desk staff barely spoke English and couldn’t help with the most basic requests like calling a taxi, failing facilities, rusty rooms, repeated requests for extra blanket or room cleaning never answered, our toilet was broken and never fixed during our 7 day stay despite repeated requests. The food at the buffet was decent ( good seafood variety) but the a la cart restaurants were not good. I will not go back to this resort again.
