Fantastic all inclusive hotel,we recently stayed here recently with two young children 8&6 and also some older family members. The food was very good with plenty of variety (we loved eating at the pool bar at lunchtime) The swimming pools are a comfortable temperature once in and nicely designed. There’s approx 5 local restaurants and 3 supermarkets locally which is a nice 2 minute walk and located on the glorious sea front, but not a great deal else,so if you like a lively night life it’s not for you. All in all a fantastic holiday and highly recommended

We found the staff were very friendly and helpful especially Javi in reception. The animation team also deserve a mention as they helped to make our stay very enjoyable with the daily activities and a special mention for the 'Dance Revolution' night, this show was awesome and i think the dj was really good with the lights and video. The staff in the restaurant was ķvery efficient, the waiting staff were very quick bringing water to my table and clearing the plates away. The food was quickly replenished.

We overall had a lovely family stay at this hotel which is in a nice low key area of the island but still with plenty of shops and restaurants and things to do. Negatives: Children's playground currently out of use (unsure why they didn't replace this over winter). Not good when advertised as family hotel. Housekeeping lacked the finer detail. On arrival only 3 beds made up for family/booking of 4, half of the beds had duvets half had thin sheets rather than all the same. After getting duvets for all, on linen change day they swapped back to 2 duvets and 2 sheets! Often left only 3 sets of towels instead of 4. Didn't check to replace toilet paper, leaving us short one day. Complimentary shampoo etc either not refilled or pumps didn't work. Reception did attentively correct everything when requested, but I felt there were a few too many things to report. Show cooking area couldn't keep up with demand often leaving a wait for food or a need to choose alternative option. Very small area for size of hotel. A couple bits of meat we had were not fully cooked, I believe this was down to the chefs trying to keep up with demand, rather than having enough time to cook the food. Deserts were very tasty but lacked variety and quantity. Positives: High quality tasty food. Nice cuts of meat and good selection of fish. Half board included evening drinks even though not stated so when booking with TUI, the beer was nice. Alfresco dining available. Family friendly hotel. Attentive staff when issues arise. Great location. Lots of older French guests, meaning that during English school holidays the place wasn't completely over run with kids. Nice separate pool for little kids with slides. Pools nice temperature. Plenty of sunbeds at any time of day. Clean hotel. Useful points to note. Breakfast currently starts at 8am, dinner at 7pm. Some say this is late, but we kept our little kids routines on English time (one hour behind) so it worked well for us only having to stretch them a little for dinner, which an afternoon ice-cream took care of. Our return transfer left before breakfast time, but on request the hotel either provide pre plated food or a cold continental style buffet depending on numbers leaving. We were lucky enough to have the cold buffet which set us up nicely for our journey home. Tourist tax is about 45 euros for 2 adults for a week. Our little kids were free (not sure on age limit for kids). Safety deposit box is free but needs 20 euro deposit. Pool/beach towels free, but need 10 euro deposit. Overall nice stay and have no worries if you have booked here, but I have had more pleasant stays at other barcelo properties.

The best place! This is a great place for families. The food, kids club staff, the facilities, entertainment, cleanliness… everything. Just come back from a week there and can not fault it. We don’t normally go back to resorts as we like to try new ones.. but will definitely be back to this one! Thank you to all staff specially to Joana , Giada , Sandra , Lily, Romain and kike best animation ever!!!

Just back from a weeks stay at the Occidental. I was given a room close to all the facilities due to me having mobility issues , which was very much appreciated. The staff are lovely and are more than helpful. The food was amazing , something different every day, I especially liked having the blue cheese on the breakfast buffet! Only a slight criticism was the deserts could have been a little better and more choice, however I always managed to find something. I ate at the pool bar a couple of times as I was HB. The food was ok. Wasn't keen on the cocktails though. The only other negative I had was that I found the hotel quite noisy. This could be because I was in a room right near the bar/pool area, but given the room that I had , it was a small price to pay. There were a lot of French guests , who were somewhat raucas at times. I didn't go in the pool , but I did use the indoor pool spa circuit which for 20e for 90mins was good value for money. I did venture out of the hotel down to the beachfront, which has a few restaurants and shops. I also took the landtrain to Binibeca, which broke down! Needless to say I got a taxi back !. On the whole a pleasant stay. Would I return ? Possibly.

Another great stay at Occidental Menorca. This time with 3 children with multiple allergies, (gluten, dairy, soya and nuts) the staff were brilliant and would constantly check if we needed anything- thank you Claudia and Adrian. We love this hotel, it has multiple swimming pools, a small waterpark and just down the road from a beach. We will definitely be returning to this hotel (for our 6th visit).

Currently staying in the Occidental. I have mixed feelings. Good points first: - Staff are friendly and helpful - Repair needed in room was done very quickly - Bed is really comfortable with a duvet not a sheet and plenty of pillows -Hotel surroundings are nice, all feels very posh, right next to the beach and a public kids playground - Family room is excellent for our situation as I am here with my kids and my father - it’s basically two rooms joined together with separate facilities and a connecting door -Entertainment is good but not in your face (magician was great) - Nice to have an outside area in the restaurant Negatives - Mainly the food. Quite repetitive. I am vegetarian and I’ve eaten pasta with tomato sauce or pizza twice a day. I know when I go all inclusive it’s not going to be ideal for me as a vegetarian but equally it’s 2024 and there are a few of us around! It would be even harder for a vegan or for someone with religious dietary restrictions. A lot of the vegetables have random bits of ham in them. The whole menu is very meat heavy - strange because at breakfast they have lots of different milks available so there is some awareness of different diets but by lunchtime that has all gone. My father so does eat meat also feels the food is a little lacking and repetitive and says the meat is often overcooked. Not everything is labelled. It would be really nice to have a selection of basic vegetables. There are a lot of French tourists here and perhaps it caters to a more continental taste but it would be nice to have a little variation. -The snack bar has bowls of pre-cooked chips and pre made burgers and sandwiches sat out on a table. Bit strange rather than an area keeping them covered but we’ve not eaten there. - Surprised in May half term in the UK there are not more kids here. The hotel mainly seems popular with French pensioners (not a problem for me although it seems French pensioners can be quite a raucous bunch but I think my kids are sad there aren’t more kids here) -Hotel kids park equipment is broken and cordoned off.
