The Berkeley Hotel

Clean rooms, friendly front desk service. Restaurant and bar are closed but it’s right across the street from the tobacco factory and it’s food and environment are amazing! Great location and safe area to walk the streets too! We will be back for sure!

I truly enjoyed the facility and looking forward to to another stay.

I loved the location of this property as the event I attended Richmond for and dinner/drinks places were all walkable. The staff were all extremely welcoming and accommodating. The hotel gives a charming and homey inn feeling. I’ll definitely book here again!

Started out not to well. I had asked for a balcony room. However my door to the balcony did not work. Office person came and was unable to unlock the door. It was broken. No repair person over weekend. Then one of our lamps did not work. It was plugged in and did not work They did give me a refund of $50 for the two nights I was there. My daughter stayed in another room so we were close. They offered me another room however I wanted to stay close to where my daughter was located. The Valet was GREAT!! We did have an episode of them not able to find my key fob. When it was finally found. He went to the car to get the battery charger for my granddaughter hearing aids. He came back said he could not find it. My daughter walked with him to look. My FORD SECURITY UNLOCK NUMBER ON THE WINDOW. WAS THE SAME AS A RED ESCAPE. my car is dark blue!!! This is FORD problem. I will take it with them. Who would think your security code to your car opens others. The hotel staff(desk personnel, Restaurant waitress was EXTREMELY HELPFUL, KIND and willing to go out of their way to help. Hotel is older and needs refurbishing. But was comfortable and quite. Could not hear other people walking down hallway, could not hear doors slamming. A couple things they need to add to rooms is microwave and refridge. Also an area downstairs where you can buy snacks, drinks like other hotels. They did not even have microwave and refridge to rent.

Valet parking was seamless; also I arrived a little early but didn't have to wait long for my room to be ready. The staff was super friendly and nice, both on arrival and checkout. One flaw: thanks to a heavy rainstorm, my 4th-floor window leaked and it was clear that it was not the first time. I used a towel to prevent the puddle from spreading and then reported the problem on checkout. I suspect they already knew, however.

Our room was excellent -- clean, large, well appointed, quiet, comfortable bed. The restaurant, which isn't run by the hotel, leaves a LOT to be desired. Service for breakfast was SLOW and the food was cold.

The hotel was ok. Really nice and old school. The hotel is under construction which we wasn’t alerted prior to booking. So hearing drilling, and banging through out the day was annoying. The lack of a smart tv was odd in year 2024. Also, the staff was very cold. But the hotel was overall ok, perfect location and close to everything.

The balcony was good size , wasn’t as clean as I expected . No mini fridge or microwave in room really ******
